The main floor master suite is luxuriously appointed and serves as the ultimate escape, boasting plush sleeping accommodations and a private hot tub on the deck extending off the bedroom.
Perhaps the best feature of this home is its amazing exterior space. Large weeping willow trees make this 1.5-acre lot feel very secluded. The scenery here is absolutely breathtaking, with Mount Sopris towering in the distance and the river’s edge just down a gentle slope off the property. In the fall, the surrounding trees display gorgeous colors and create a truly picturesque setting. You’ll love spending your evenings gathering around the fire pit near the river to make s’mores and socialize with your companions. The 1-acre yard will serve as your private playground, where you can enjoy playing frisbee, having picnics, making snowmen, and jumping on the trampoline.
From here, you certainly won’t have to venture far to access everything Glenwood Springs has to offer! With the Roaring Fork River right in your backyard, you’ll get to experience why the area is famous for its world-class trout fishing - You'll be so close to the water that you can float along the river and end up in the backyard, as well as trout fish directly off the property! Plus, you'll be close to several other prime fishing spots, including the Colorado River. This area truly offers every fisherman's dream!
Explore the mountains further by cross country skiing, hiking, or mountain biking along pristine backcountry trails. If you’re visiting during the winter or spring, enjoy skiing at Sunlight Ski Area which is only 12 miles away, as well as Snowmass and Aspen ski resorts, each located within 35-40 minutes of the house. You'll find easy access to the slopes with Glenwood's public bus that stops less than 1 mile from the house at the Thunder Ridge intersection and will take travelers to both Sunlight Ski Area and Snowmass. In addition, this property is close to the Glenwood Hot Springs Pool, and near shops and restaurants in the charming towns of Basalt, Carbondale, and Willits. If you'd prefer to keep active indoors, visit Glenwood Spring's recreation center, which offers a swimming pool, hot tub, and ice skating rink. We had a terrific family reunion. The grounds were terrific for playing games, sitting around the fire and playing in the river. We had a total of 15 people with kids age 3 to 16. They loved the amusement park, mountain biking and hiking that we did in Glenwood Springs. They also loved being at the home having water balloon fights in the spacious front lawn and eating way too much food cooked in the terrific kitchen. Everyone had enough space to stretch out and and store their items. It's a quick drive to Glenwood Springs but far enough away to feel like you are on your own. We had 4 cars and 15 bike all which had a place with room to spare. The river was a real treat and we decided to spend our time on the river than at the hot springs. Our first day we spent at the Adventure park where all of the kids said it was better than Disney. It's small but has some terrific and terrifying rides. The second day we hiked Hanging lake, one of my favorites, just arrive early so you can get a parking spot. The third day we biked up the path along the Colorado river and took the older kids on some mountain bike trails. This town has the best network of bike paths and mountain bike trails. Every place we went you could get there on bike if you wanted. Everyone from the youngest to oldest, grandma, was able to participate. The only complaint was that we should have stayed a couple more days to do more of the great activities available in Glenwood Springs. It is such a great place for active families.
We enjoyed it very much. Was a little worried when we got there and had no air conditioning. Being from Oklahoma that's a must and was told to open windows and turn on fans and it would cool down. And it did.
Would recommend to anyone. Especially a family with two or three kids and their family. Enough room for all.
The house was in a perfect relaxing atmosphere on the Roaring Fork River. There were 13 adults ad 4 children and plenty of room for everyone. I was shocked when I found out I had booked a house with no air conditioning but we didn't need any. It was very comfortable.I wouldn't have booked had I known but by accidentally doing it, I was glad I did. It has everything you need for an enjoyable stay. It was located only about 5-7 miles from WalMart and downtown. There were lots of parking space for all of our vehicles. We would stay here again if the opportunity arises.
Our family of 16 (9 adults, 7children) just returned from a week at "River's Edge" and we could not have had a more perfect vacation. The house and grounds are amazing. Pictures do not do justice to the spaciousness of both the inside and outside. We were close to everything we had wanted to do (adventure park, hot springs, rafting, biking and hiking) but honestly most of us would have been content never to have left the property. Being on the river was a dream come true. The property manager went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed and we are already working on choosing a week for next summer.
This home is located just yards away from the Roaring Fork River where the elk roam freely. The home itself feels massive - very generous proportions, lots of wood (post and beam), many rooms and spaces for family, teens or kids with big open feel. We liked the fact it was so close to local and area ski areas. The hot tub was cleaned when we arrived and we used it daily. In town, the hot springs in are great to visit after a hard ski or hike. The owners are very nice and responsive and the house was immaculate when we arrived. We felt lucky to have found such nice and affordable place to stay so close to such amazing skiing.
We stayed at this rental in June 2015 and our large group very much enjoyed our stay! The house is right on the
river and the views are spectacular! All the kids with us had a blast on the trampoline and had a great time playing hide-and-seek with the large floor plan of the house. While in Glenwood Springs we enjoyed the Glenwood Springs Adventure Park, the Hot Springs and Yampah Vapor Caves. Glenwood Springs is a great town to visit and this house is a great place to stay if you are traveling with a large group.
