Honua Kai has started Phase 3 of the Resort. Those are 2 story townhouses in the back of the property between the Hokulani and Konea Buildings. It will not interfere with the views. There will likely be construction noise during the week. Rate has already been reduced, so this is a great deal.

The townhouse are wood construction, so the equivalent of building a two story house. The work schedule per the HOA is Monday through Saturday from 9am - 5pm Light work (no noise) is to be expected from 8am – 9am and possibly 5pm – 6pm daily as well.

This unit is a great compliment to our collection of Honua Kai homes. Located on the exterior northeast corner of the Hokulani Tower, H636 is 1240 sf ft, with a 505 sq ft lanai that has both mountain and ocean views, so you get all this at a more affordable prices than the inner courtyard two bedrooms.

We are fortunate to 'Live Aloha' everyday and our goal is for our guests to 'Live Aloha' while they are our guests. Whether it's just another trip to Maui or the only trip you'll ever take to Maui, our mission is to make it special. Here's how we do that:

1) Check-in: We greet you upon your arrival at the Resort and personally check you into your suite. We show you where things are located within the Resort and also escort you to your room. In addition, we're there to show you where to register your car and where to park.(We don't have you pick up a key and then fend for yourself. (The front desk here does not check in VRBO guests.)

2) Service: We present each guest with a Welcome Aloha Package which includes a box of Hawaiian chocolates, a bag of 100% Maui Grown Coffee, Aveda soaps, Aveda shampoo and a bottle of chilled champagne.

We also provide beach chairs and towels, boogie boards (good ones, not those Styrofoam ones), binoculars to watch the whales, free local and long distance calls to the Mainland, free wi-fi internet and the cleanest room at the Resort.

We are at the Resort all the time and live only 5 minutes up the street, so if anything should require our attention we are quick to respond.

3) Price: We offer the most competitive price. Some units may be a little less expensive, but you will not have the location or the view.

Other things to consider:

-No worrying about when the maid service is going to interrupt your day.

-We personally clean our unit and you know, nobody cleans your home like you do.

-Use of swimming pool, exercise room, concierge service, bell and valet service and

activities desk.

-Charge all resort costs on your credit card.

- We want you happy and we want you back!

-Large custom glass doors to lanai to maximize views and natural light.

-Washer and Dryer in the unit.

No Parking Fee for 2018. Subject to change.

We will accommodate early check-in or late check out when the schedule allows. We understand that many flights arrive late morning and that many flights depart late at night. We were regulars on that red eye to San Francisco.

Great trip

The only downside was the gym on the property. Way too small to accommodate such a big resort which resulted in overcrowding and zero ac/ventilation.

Owner's Response: Aloha Gail, Agreed. During the busy season the fitness center does get crowded which is why they are in the process of expanding it. Currently they are building out that lower corner of the Konea building and putting in the Homeowners Association offices. When can we go back???

We stayed at Honua Kai, booking through the hotel, about 4 years ago and really loved the facilities. Traveling with a family to Hawaii, we find a full kitchen to be a must! Being able to eat some meals in really helps reduce the cost and time consumption that you incur if you eat out every meal. We were a bit hesitant to book through VRBO, not knowing how reliable or well kept up the rental would be. Our whole family is now scheming as to when we can plan our next trip!!! This rental was everything we had hoped for and MORE! Roomy, clean, well stocked, amazing views, spacious lanai, comfortable beds, laundry facilities. Truly, we did not have a single complaint! Having the additional supplies like boogie boards, beach chairs and snorkel gear was such a plus. I have already recommended this rental to several friends and family and will not hesitate to return in the future.

Unforgettable stay!

Our stay in this rental was excellent. Joe was great to work with, from start to finish. While we were in Maui, he was in Orlando, but he was still very responsive to texts. He even accommodated a last minute request for us to check out late. The condo is exactly like the pictures. Beautiful, no surprises. We liked that the lanai is so big we had views of the ocean and the mountains.

The resort is top notch, and the resort staff was very gracious and accommodating. (They didn't treat us like second class citizens for booking thru a private owner... no concerns there). Great location. We snorkeled at several different spots on Maui, but the BEST snorkeling was right there at the resort! We saw tons of fish and swam with sea turtles. An unforgettable experience.

No concerns with the location of this rental with regards to the Westin construction to the south. With the Lanai doors open, we could hear some beeps from some of the construction machinery, but you hear more noise from the parkway road than from the construction. With the lanai doors shut, no noise at all. You don't see any of the construction from condo. All the construction is on the other side of the building.

Having Duke's on the resort site is a real plus. They take care of you with beverages while you are poolside. We ate our last Maui meal at Duke's for lunch before flying home. I think it was the best meal we had all week.

This was my first time renting from VRBO, and it was a great experience. Thanks Joe!

Great Views! Everything you need!

This room is equipped with everything you need to enjoy your stay on Maui. Spacious and nicely appointed bedrooms and bathrooms. The Lanai is huuuuge!!! Great views of the ocean and the mountains. We used the supplied beach chairs almost every day. Joe was easy going, replied quickly to all of my emails and was right on property when we arrived. Honua Kai is close enough to everything, and if you like to walk the path is great, it is about 30 minutes to Black Rock and a little longer to Whalers Village.

Wow. This is first class

We stayed 6 nights and this was our first experience in renting a property. We normal stay in first class hotels. This was as good as a first class hotel with even better accomodations. The property is beautiful. The description is very accurate. Rhonda and Joe do a great job managing the place. What more can I say but our experience was outstanding.
