This 2 bedroom cabin has the appeal of log cabin in the woods with the added bonus of sitting on the shore of almost a mile of private beaches. This cabin has unparalleled views of the Atlantic Ocean and St. Andrews, New Brunswick. There are whales, eagles, moose, deer, shore birds visiting this area daily. Perfect for a getaway for family or a couple! There are art galleries, hiking & lots more to experience in this area! Or you could do nothing and just relax!
I rented this place for a personal retreat and it not only met but exceeded my expectations. The lack of internet was a plus in my case. The place had everything I was looking for: spectacular views of the bay and the night sky, a trail starting right off the property, access to the beach, a fully equipped kitchen, a good distance away from roads and other properties (occasionally I did hear some noise of motorcycles and fishermen's boats, but it was not very loud; I did not bump into one person in two weeks). A variety of wild life, beautiful nature to feast you eyes on. The beautiful bay-side deck is nice and large, you can practically sleep there in warm weather. Caryn was very quick to respond to any of my questions. I would highly recommend this for either individual or group getaway.
Clean and comfortable. Adequate kitchen -though no lobster pot. A beautiful site on the water. Morning coffee on the deck, listening to the birds and lobster boats was to be at peace. Beach access is actually up the road-turn on Horse Landing road. Happy that we could bring a dog-he enjoyed the walks in the fields and trails as much as we did. Access to lakes for swimming. Access to Canada-recommend the Kingsbrae botanical gardens. Access to Eastport-got our lobsters steamed at the Quoddy Seafood establishment. The best!
The location is perfect.....secluded and private, a pathway giving access to the beach. We walked the beach for hours, finding treasures and just relaxing in our lawn chairs enjoying the wild life, sounds and smells of the ocean. Great sunrises and sunsets and in the evening enjoying time by a camp fire. A large yard surrounding the house. We saw seals, eagles, hummingbirds, rabbits and other wildlife at the house and from the beach. Beautiful views over looking Saint Andews NB. only 14 miles from Calais so going to Canada for the day is possible. Also a great location for day excursions all down route 1, all the way to Mount Desert (Acadia National Park).
Our stay was perfect and we look forward to going back.
Loved the view from our kitchen table and the deck. We watched fishermen pull their lobster traps, saw beautiful sunrises and even saw a bald eagle fly over. There is a large yard with a picnic table and a grill which allowed us to have a family get-together with plenty of room. The propane heater warmed us up nicely on our one rainy day and the kitchen was equipped to handle our cooking needs. If you like peace and quiet near the ocean, you will like this. I would add a 5th star if it had internet access.
