Peace, serenity, waterfront and the view besides the fishing and hunting possibilities. It's in the country away from the hurried city life and is in the heart of great fishing opportunities at several local lakes plus waterfowl hunting is a prime reason. Pheasants as well.

Thank you for the great review. It really pleases us that those that stay at the cabin find it to be a place of family bonding and good times. We hope you will return.
We rented for 3 days with children and grandchildren. The cabin is very well stocked with all the essentials for cooking, games for the kids, and the beds are very comfortable. All this with a great view of the lake. We caught some walleyes on Bitter and Waubay but fishing was limited due to extreme winds. Even though we had to be indoors because of weather, the cabin has a ping pong table, a pool table and plenty of room to move around in. The owners were very prompt on email replies and easy to work with.
12 of us (plus 6 others who stayed in breske bay) pounded the walleyes out of Bitter lake. Way over 100! Not big but nice eaters. We've been staying in this house for years and it's awesome! The fish cleaning station was a great addition. Next year we will also be renting the apartment over the garage instead of the breske bay bunk house. It was also a great addition to the property. The view is awesome and the house is big and wide open.
This was our second time renting the property for a family reunion and once again we loved it. There was an issue with the A/C that Leon notified me about beforehand; he had a repair person there first thing Monday morning to take care if it. Leon did an excellent job of following up on how we were doing and volunteered compensation for our discomfort from no A/C. We will go back!
Nice clean home. We had 8 guys ice fishing and there was plenty of room for all of us. The home was clean and the kitchen had everything we needed. The lake access was only a Mile or so away. We will be back.
A group of us spent the New Year's at this property and had a very relaxing and rewarding trip. Due to the warm start to winter, we weren't sure what to expect for the ice conditions for our trip so we came prepared to deal with whatever hand Mother Nature dealt us. Luckily, there was enough ice for us to get out and have some success fishing on Lake Waubay. This property offered our group very convenient access to the lake and the areas where we were fishing. In addition, the new game cleaning room at the property offered us the chance to filet our fish in a clean heated environment. For those that didn't want to get up early to go fishing, the house offered a perfect getaway to enjoy a cup of coffee while looking out the large windows and taking in the morning sun. In the evenings we used the nice open layout as a gathering place to have dinner, play games, and visit before heading off to bed.
I highly recommend this location for those that are looking for a place to get away from their normal hectic schedules. The property is setup very nicely for a variety of different size and types of groups.
We are already looking forward to our next trip out to Lake Waubay and the Anderson cabin.
Was very pleased with the house. Very clean, spacious, and the linnens provided where very adequate. Plenty of cooking utensils. Was very windy and cool so we didn't use the deck but in nice weather it would have been very nice to spend an evening or two outside. Pheasant hunting in general area wasn't the best further west was better. Duck hunting was good. We hunted half an hour north. Overall very satisfied.
Blue Dog fish hatchery is nearby located 1 mile west and 2 miles north of the town of Waubay which is located on South Dakota Route 12. Waubay Wildlife Refuge is located about 6 miles by road and about 1 mile by boat from the cabin. Other great fishing lakes nearby include: Pickerel - 5 miles, Enemy Swim - 6 miles, Lynn Lake - 12 miles. If you are bringing children, bring a kite. Wind is sometimes perfect for kites. Pheasant farm west of Aberdeen. Terry Redlin art museum is in Watertown, about an hour southeast. Free admission, three floors, wildlife and Americana art of the highest caliber.
