Looking for a place to really get away from it all? The Red Chalet in beautiful Grand Marais is the place you are looking for.
Located on Lake Superior, Grand Marais is surrounded by nature in abundance. Set on a large, wooded lot in the village, the Red Chalet will surround you with comfort. The great room includes a full kitchen, dining area, and a well-furnished living area. Plenty of room for everyone to put their feet up and relax. Enjoy a good night's rest in any of the three bedrooms that have been recently updated, including bedding. The utility room has plenty of space for all your gear, no matter what your activity. The pull through driveway provides easy manuevering for large snowmobile trailers as well as multiple vehicles.
It is just a short walk to the Lake Superior sand beach or the main street of Grand Marais. While staying at the cottage you might want to visit the Pictured Rocks, bike, search for agates, swim, sunbathe, hike the many trails, go bird watching, cross-country ski, snowmobile, snowshoe, visit the Seney National Wildlife Refuge, or take some outstanding photographs. Sunsets on Lake Superior are unparalleled.
The Red Chalet is available year round, easily accessible during the winter months, and the snowmobile trails start just a few blocks from the front door. These groomed trails connect you to a network of over 2500 miles of trails throughout the Upper Peninsula. Snowmobile rental is available in town.
We were plesantly surprised and found everything to be beyond what we were imagining with our stay at the Red Chalet! This is a very nice spacious home with everything that you will need. It is very easy to feel at home here. There are two bedrooms downstairs and a loft with three beds. A nice downstairs bathroom with shower, and an extra room with laundry, toilet and sink. So plenty of room for multiple couples, and to each have their own space. The house has gun games to keep you entertained and a table and chairs outside to enjoy. I can't wait to go back and enjoy this nice place in the future!
We found ourselves staying at the Red Chalet one more time. Love the new kitchen! I invited family members who have never visited the U.P. before, so this was a treat. Especially appealing to the youngers were all of the board games, the beach, the exploring leading to great adventures, and the cozy cottage we called home for a week. However, all of the "elders" enjoyed these things, too. Thanks again Mike and Chris, we had an incredible week at the Red Chalet!
The Red Chalet is a wonderful home away from home. It has everything you need. They have done ALOT of remodeling and it has only made it better! We stay here in the winter time and love the garage to store our sleds, and the mud room comes in handy for all of our gear. We have also stayed in the Fall and it is so relaxing to just sit on the front porch and watch the world go by. Great place and we will definitely be back. Big plus that they accept pets, not many places do =)
We loved this cabin it was very convenient to town and to the trail system. The cabin is very clean and comfortable with everything you need even a crock pot which I forgot to bring with me. The mudroom is an added bonus, nice place to hang your gear and kick off your boots after a long day of riding. We were hoping to rent it again but alas it is all booked up this winter.....maybe they have too many good reviews :)
The Red Chalet was a wonderful cabin to rent. It accommodated all of us. One of the options that Girls like was all the storage - hooks, cubbies, were great for all of us getting ready. Comfortable Beds, furniture and a good supply of cooking equipment. The transaction with the owner was prompt and smooth. It was 1 mile from town, which was a nice walk. The towns people I found were very friendly.
Never rented a cabin before..exceeded our expectations..comfortable furnishings..everything we needed..loved having washer and dryer available..plenty of room for our family of 5 and our dog...conveniently close to gorgeous beach and town...great way to spend a week...4th of July was a lot of fun too..thanks for sharing this nice home with us...God bless you guys!
