Rent your own 1 bedroom cottage in back of a cute house in Albany. The cottage has just been completely renovated with new kitchen cabinets, granite, completely new faux finish walls with vaulted ceilings. A new hickory hand scraped wood floor with a an old time cottage feeling. COMES WITH IT'S OWN PRIVATE BATHROOM, a smallish bedroom that contains a captains bed with four drawers. The bedroom and the bathroom are tiled. Comes with well equipped Kitchen, 49 inch 4K TV with many streaming services and Netflix free. Captains bed has four drawers and there is also a small five drawer chest of drawers in the bedroom. Completely private and separate from the mail house where I live. Comfortable bed in the bedroom and very comfortable sofa bed in the living room. There is also a loft with a full size bed. Safe neighborhood, lots of on street parking, very near Solano ave which has tons of businesses and restaurants. Bart station about ten to fifteen minutes walk.
I am Artistically. Inclined. Acting, directing, rock and roll music and I love to work on my house. Making it ever more beautiful. I have done a lot of traveling, hitchhiking through Europe in the 70s, all over Southeast Asia and Turkey and Israel as well so I know what it's like to Travel and I enjoy meeting other travelers like yourself. I know that the right accommodations can very much enhance a trip.
this is a very special place. Its very quiet, beautiful and well equipped. As a host I am responsive and available but not in your face.
It was a nice stay for what we needed. I think there really should be clear directions for what is expected from the renter as far as cleanliness. There were a couple used tissues in one of the bedrooms when we got there and a broken glass in the cupboard. It was my first time renting like this and I didn't know how much we were supposed to clean. Should we sweep and vacuum, how should we leave the bedding, things like that. I like to leave a place cleaner than when I got there so we picked up the previous persons used tissues and threw away the broken glass. Just a suggestion, let renters know your expectations. Otherwise a nice stay.
Robin was very accommodating and helpful with my last minute booking. The place was super charming and located in a fantastic part of Albany. Great restaurants within a short walk. I'd stay here again!
We loved our stay in this quirky, quiet cottage. Convenient to stores and restaurants---we loved Tay Tah Cafe and Cafe Valparaiso, both on Solano Avenue---and an easy bus ride to/from downtown Berkeley. Place was clean and owner was very responsive. Met our needs perfectly.
My family and I went up for a wedding and stayed in Robin's cottage. It was just like was described. Cozy, clean, and close to many shops and restaurants. Robin responded quickly to all of my questions and I will definitely stay there again!
The cottage was absolutely fantastic. We arrived after 6 pm after a long day in San Francisco. The directions and description of the location were perfect and had no problems getting in. All the amenities (cups and glasses, extra sheets/blankets/towels, and fridge on) were laid out and ready for use if necessary. We left, to go have dinner, after putting some things away in the fridge and dropping off our backpacks and walked south to Solano Ave. and be overwhelmed with the amount of choices for dining within a few blocks. We ended up eating some burgers at Barneys (highly recommend) and as we walked back, we stopped at Safeway on the way back for a few travel size hair products and some chocolate for dessert. We watched some TV while we enjoyed our chocolate and just were amazed at the 4K screen and the 4K quality channels offered through the internet connection to the TV. The bed and the pull out couch were excellent and exactly what we needed after all our walking, wind and mild sun burn, and overall tiredness from our adventures in San Fran.
The cottage was clean and comfortable, had plenty of power plugs to charge our electronics, and felt homey. The bathroom was clean and spacious. It had everything we needed, the location is walking distance close to lots of shopping and dining, it is just under a mile away from the BART station, taxi service is available right at the station and was affordable ($8.25 to the cottage from station) and city bus main route is on Solano Ave.
Robin was in contact with us before we arrived and followed up with us about our checkout time. As an an unexpected and very appreciated bonus, Robin offered to drop us off at the BART station in the morning. We were able to get to chat with Robin while he drove and further confirmed how small our world is. Thank you for making our stay so special.
We were looking for a quiet cozy place with our children close to San Francisco area and Robin was so very accommodating. We called late, got there late and he still put us up! ❤️ The cottage was just perfect for us and our kids. The boys were in heaven sleeing on the loft bed. The kitchen everything we needed to make ourselves and evening snack and some breakfast. The beds are comfortable and the cottage was spotless.
It was nice to meet you rotten and we would love to come back sometime soon! Thank you so much for being flexible and accommodating our family.
