1 Bedroom, 1.5 Bath, in the Heart of Jordaan, Stones thow from everything
Located on the Elandsgracht, this is truly the center of the Jordaan neighborhood. The Prinsengracht (famous canal) is at the corner with 9 Streets (famous shopping streets) right across the bridge. Plenty of great shops, restaurants, things to see and feel local!
There is a feeling of comfort and being in your own home here. Maybe because I'm American and like everything big, but both the couch and bed are big and comfortable. The apartment is one above ground floor (US - 2nd, EU - 1st)
You have the entire apartment to yourself. You have a nice set of dishes/utensils for cooking, washer/dryer, TV, Cable, Wifi. You will have a whole chest of 6 drawers for clothes (since I keep the closet for myself). There is a coat closet to hang clothes in the kitchen (2 ft / 60 cm wide).
INTERACTION WITH GUESTS
I have someone come in to greet and show you around the place when you arrive. In case any questions or help needed they will be available to call.
The neighborhood has the feel of living in the Amsterdam you see on pictures. It has a very local feel (a bit uppity) right in the center despite being a stone's throw from away everything. Personally, I like that I can spend a whole weekend without even leaving the neighborhood! (butcher, baker, grocer, barber, pastry shop, 10's of restaurants, and sheik pop-up shops are literally within a 150 meter radius here). Check it out for yourself: www (DOT) elandsgracht (DOT) com/?lang=EN
Also, the 9 Streets start at the end of the street (30 meters) :) de9straatjes (DOT) nl/en/home
You can walk anywhere from here (Leidseplein 5 minutes, Museumplein 15 mins) really the most recommended way (especially if you're visiting the first time) is via Bicycle!
Trams that connect you to anywhere are 200 meters away (Lijn 17, 10, 5)
The main bus station is also at the end of the street that will take you directly to the airport (Bus 197 every 17 minutes) or even the Beach in Haarlem.

About Peter Ciepiela
I'm American and am still in love with Amsterdam after 7 years. I ended up buying this place because I wanted the real experience of living in the rustic center, near canals, shops, and truly being a local. I'm also a passionate traveller and like to travel around the world and see new places. Next on the list I want to explore the America's (even the US feeling a bit like a tourist coming back!). That's why I leave my home in trusting hands when I'm gone :)
Peter Ciepiela purchased this Apartment in 2012
Why Peter Ciepiela chose Jordaan
Spacious 1-bedroom on the Elandsgracht, in the heart of the Jordaan. The apartment can fit up to 4 people comfortably with one King Size bed and a giant (american sized) couch that converts into a King Size for sleeping in the living room. The neighborhood is centrally located. You can walk anywhere in the center within 15 minutes but also easily spend a weekend here without walking more than 150 meters with everything within a stone's throw. Trendy shops and restaurants are peppered all around. The Anne Frank House is a short walk on the Prinsengracht.

Best apartment, best location ever
I have little to add to the other great reviews but must express personally that this apartment and location could not possibly get any better. Three women stayed here. The one staying on the sofa did great and had her own closet in the kitchen. Plenty of storage, grocery, cheese store, restaurants and liquor store directly below and just a few blocks from nine streets and Anne Frank house and canal boats. For us Uber was the best (cost effective when splitting 3 ways). Peter actually had great cooking supplies and sharp knives (I never find that in rentals). Other guests left condiments and plenty of things to use (sweet housekeeper checks expiration dates) so we had everything we needed. We will return and we will stay here again. No doubt about it.
Wonderful flat in a convenient and very fun neighborhood.
The apartment is very well appointed. It is on a lively street, but bedroom is in back so street noise is not an issue. Everything we needed, or wanted, was within walking distance. We loved our stay and would return in a heartbeat.
Big apartment on active street
Clean apartment on a vibrant street. Very comfortable furniture, large space. Great bathroom and shower, nice little balcony. Peter was very easy to work with and had a bottle of wine, stroopwaffles and metro cards with money on them in the apartment when we arrived. Washer great but you need to hang clothes to dry but there are lines to do that. We stayed for two weeks and were calling it home after day 1. Highly recommend.
Loved our stay. Convenient location. Close to grocery store, transit.Lovely big apartment with plenty of linens and towels. Best shower yet!The washing machine was very welcome after traveling for ten days.
One suggestion. The clothes drying rack is small and awkward to use so a bigger one would be great. But that is small stuff. All in all we loved our stay and Amsterdam.
One of our most comfortable stays in Europe
Great location , apartment was spacious and comfortable. We would stay there again and recommend to others.
Great neighbourhood to explore!
We didn't have to go far to find everything we needed for a fabulous week in Amsterdam!
Right on the street is a wonderful bakery, butcher shop, organic market, wine shop and cheese store! There are pubs and a hair salon and a Koffiespot!
Peter's flat is laid out perfectly to entertain and we did! Happy hour daily with our friends from Canada! The flat they were staying in was much too small to have us all over.
We went to a wonderful restaurant right around the corner called Venus and Adonis. Easy to walk everywhere within 30 minutes including Centraal Station. UBER works wonderfully when you don't want to walk back.
Thank you Peter for sharing your home with us!

Key to note: The coffee table is actually an ottoman, you can take the top off and slide into the L corner of the couch and sleep two very comfortably (I do have extra sheets, pillows, and cushion). The wooden furniture (bed, coffee table) is from what they call 'Steigerhoud'. Literally refurbished wood from scaffolding in Dutch. I designed it myself and it's a pretty, trendy thing as of late.
