Nestled against the spectacular San Jacinto Mountains, this updated mid-century gem provides a peaceful poolside retreat in classic Palm Springs style. Wake up in the master bedroom to an unbeatable view of the golden hills and throw open the glass doors to savor true California indoor/outdoor living. This, four bedroom, three bath, residence is located on a quiet cul-de-sac with a completely private, grassy back yard and aquamarine pool and spa. The furnishings, entertainment systems and linens are all new with a blend of contemporary and vintage modernism. You and your friends can cook up a storm in the comfortable and well-equipped gourmet kitchen with outdoor built in BBQ and large counter and spend the evening star gazing by the fire pit or mosey into town by car or foot to one of Palm Springs’ outstanding restaurants.
Vista Las Palmas is one of Palm Springs’ classic neighborhoods abounding with the simple modernity of Alexander houses, the ghosts of the Rat Pack, and mountain views that are free of power lines and utility poles. It’s just fifteen minutes on foot or five by car to Palm Canyon Drive where you’ll find world class restaurants, art galleries, boutiques and shops. If you have more ambitious recreational plans, you’ll be ten to fifteen minutes from the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, Tahquitz Canyon for hiking and the Spa Resort Casino. Opportunities for golfing, tennis and biking are all around you. If you’re driving in from Los Angeles, Vista Las Palmas is conveniently located just as you enter Palm Springs; for those of you coming from further it’s only fifteen minutes from the Palm Springs International Airport.

My partner and I live in Los Angeles and come here when we can. We relax the moment we open the gate.
Ken Blakeley purchased this house in 2011
We love the calm simplicity and beauty of this neighborhood and house.
Great backyard with a pool 15' by 32", over sized jacuzzi 8' by 11', out door gas fire pit with lounge seating area, built in bbq and counter for seating with awesome views of the mountains. Great restaurants.
Our family group consisting of three adults and a teenager, over three generations, had the pleasure of staying at Ken and Quentin's gorgeous midcentury house for two weeks...and what a wonderful two weeks it was! We can't speak more highly of our hosts or the property. Both surpassed our expectations. The house, designed by famed midcentury architect Charles Dubois has been beautifully renovated and is immaculately appointed with stunning modern furniture and appliances. The generous kitchen is stocked to the brim with everything you could ever need and more...perfect for whipping up a storm! As an interior designer the high quality furnishings and art were very impressive right down to the alpaca throws to cuddle up with by fire. My teenage daughter particularly loved the spa and pool along with the bikes provided...perfect for exploring stunning local neighbourhood. We all adored the outdoor firepit and monster BBQ and had many a lovely evening under the stars. The only thing we didn't like was having to leave. We look forward to returing one day...
This house is absolutely incredible... We stayed here for ten days and it was crushing to leave! Here our the top reasons we loved staying here:
- The owners: So gracious and helpful. Always just a text/phone call away if we had questions. We adore Ken and Quentin!
- The location: Old Las Palmas is a fun neighborhood that's enjoyable to walk around and look at homes and also just a short stroll from great spots to eat and drink. Our favorites were breakfast at Cheeky's and drinks at the Purple Palm in the Colony Palms hotel.
- The house: Truly a GEM! The pool and the enormous hot tub were so enjoyable. We hung out here each night. We grilled on their outdoor grill and lit up the outdoor fireplace-- just the perfect spot to soak in the palm trees and cool night air. They have thought of everything-- outdoor furniture and easy green spaces to play with kids. Each bedroom is perfectly appointed with comfortable beds and clean, updated bathrooms. Mid century furniture throughout is perfectly laid out to gather and enjoy. Natural light fills the home-- it's a very happy house! Very functional living space that is open and accessible to the kitchen. The kitchen has EVERYTHING you need. Seriously, everything. We loved cooking each night.
-The extras: Ken and Quentin lent us the two Pack N Play cribs so we didn't have to fly with ours (huge bonus) and the bikes are so much fun to scoot around town. These things make a vacation so easy!
Couldn't recommend this house any more-- so much fun waking up with incredible palm tree views and enjoying the evenings in the beautiful backyard. Thank you so much, Ken and Quentin. You will see us again!
Just wanted to let you know what a fabulous week we had in your house in Palm Springs! It was perfect for our family, and as advertised, the most well-stocked, comfortable house we've been in over the years. Wow - thanks for thinking of everything (from comfy towels to shampoo to high-end kitchen appliances)! We enjoyed the pool and the spa every day, and spent many hours sitting around the dining room table over meals, conversations and board games. We loved the townie bikes, and made quite a few runs for coffee and great milk shakes. :) We had rain for 2 days, but then were treated to a streak of bluebird sunny days. Thanks for the bike and hike suggestions - we explored the ridge above the PS art museum, and the Palm and Fern Canyon trails (wow - gorgeous!). All in all, the week was fantastic for our entire family (ages 3 - 73). Highly, highly recommend!
Our family of 7, ranging from 26 to 83, visited from 4 to 9 days Thanksgiving week. The booking process was stress-free. Ken even ordered a roaster for our turkey and sent photos of the coffee set-up. The house is in a beautiful neighborhood on a quiet cul-de-sac. It is minutes from some great shopping and restaurants in the design district. We have rented many houses n the U.S. and abroad. This one ranks among the best equipped. We had a barbecue for 20 plus friends. There were sufficient plates, silverware, glasses for everyone. Hit tub is huge. Pool is nice. We paid to heat it which was necessary on the 50 degree evenings. We used it night and day. Beds are comfirtable, great bathroom ammenities and towels. Extra big pool towels are provided, mats and even bicycles. Great rental experience all around!
We rented this paradise for Thanksgiving week for our multi-generational family. There were 8 of us from ages 70+ to 3 and it was comfortable for all. The location and house are fabulous! Ken is an awesome & attentive host, he was on holiday as well and took the time to check in and help us set up the programing of the pool and hot tub on our phones! (Loved the Sonos system, we are now looking into one for home) It is evident that they have spent a lot of time and thought into having everything set up and easy to use with their detailed guide. The house is so stocked you can just pack your tooth brush and clothes and you are good to go. All the bathrooms have nice amenities and the kitchen is very high end and stocked for entertaining!
We spent most of our waking hours enjoying the pool, hot tub, fire pit, BBQ and the townie bikes! There were pool floats available that provided days of entertainment for our 11, 8, and 3 year old. The backyard is so private and beautiful. The neighborhood is quiet, friendly and very close to town. We were warmly greeted by the neighbors while out exploring on the bikes. Everything was comfortable, clean and designed to perfection. We highly recommend this home and we look forward to returning again soon!
What a divine play to stay! Ken and Quentin are the most hospitable hosts to the point that they checked in occasionally to see if we had all we needed for our family holiday. Who does that? Wow! The house is nestled up against the mountains which is just awe-inspiring at any time of day. The house has everything you need and then some. The pool lures you in from morning to night as a respite from the Palm Springs sun. We were very impressed with the sun/shade options available by the pool. Everything in and out of the house is beautifully maintained and clean - something that I am rather fussy about. The location of the house is great as it took little time to get around by any means - foot, car, town bikes. In our party, there were five adults and a three year old. Given the layout of the house, everyone seemed to have their own little retreat when they wanted a little peace and quiet away from others - loads of space. The house is beautifully designed, styled and cared for. Excellent in our book! We also could not get over how quiet the surrounds were…a peaceful retreat for fun in the sun. I am with the other reviewers, we almost don't want to share how great this house, but Ken and Quentin are well deserving of rave reviews. Our only regret…we didn't get to meet face to face so we could give them a big hug of thanks! We will return….and thank you both again!
