High quality, well appointed house with the most comfortable beds EVER! The linens, mattress & pillows were so comfy. Woodburner with well-stocked log baskets. Hostess provided a superb welcome platter of fresh fruit, flowers, chocs, sweets & more, plus a top local wine. House is located away from the main road, so is quiet and peaceful. Very pleased with this cottage and look forward to returning.

Excellent accommodation, we were well looked after.

Excellent accommodation, we were well looked after. Very private and central. Everything needed was supplied. We were 6 staying and so the 5th and 6th person just need to be aware of the separate room not attached to the house. It did suit us very well and we will stay there again.

This is a lovely property with some unusual features - like a little hideaway room that would be perfect for a writer or for some quiet time. Very well set up and nicely decorated, with everything in the kitchen that we needed. Nice plantings around the house, and it was peaceful and quiet. Very handy to the Pukaha / Mount Bruce bird sanctuary and to a farm that makes award-winning boutique cheese.

Beautiful garden and the whole place is lovely set up.

  • 2 of 5

Beautiful garden and the whole place is lovely set up. Lots of good food for breakfast and a nice surprise to take home with you, won't say what is it, otherwise it won't be a surprise anymore :) The only inconvenience is the music room not having a toilet of its own, so if you need to use the loo in the middle of the night you need to go across the garden into the main house. If it's a cold rainy night, might wake you up completely! Otherwise, it is a 4 star property in every aspect.
