|Minimum Stay||2 nights|
At the gate of wilderness, the cabin affords a nice view of Sequoia's hallmark Moro Rock, and is ideal for hikers, nature lovers, and small families with young children. Simple and convenient accommodations do not spoil the spirit of Nature, yet provide all the necessities for a comfortable and pleasant stay.
The cabin is located inside the park, just a couple minutes' drive from the South entrance. It is part of a small subdivision of about less than a dozen houses, mostly private vacation properties and family residences. The feel is more local than touristy; buildings are well spaced apart along the mountainside so as not to spoil the view. The cabin living/dining room windows offer stunning views of the surrounding mountain range.
The best swimming spot on Kaweah River is just a few minutes' walk away. A 30 minute drive brings you to the high mountain sierra Sequoia Grove. Crystal Cave and Mineral King are also within driving distance.
The cabin features a full kitchen with stove, microwave, refrigerator, cooking utensils and dining ware, and an outdoor barbecue area with grill, garden dining table and chairs.
The downstairs bedroom has a queen bed. The upstairs loft can sleep up to three children or two adults. The living room futon transforms into a bed for extra sleeping space.
The living room and downstairs bedroom each have a flatscreen TV and DVD player. Currently, satellite TV is NOT available (however, please stay tuned... we are still working on improvements based on customer requests, and will post updates as they are made).
A discount of the cleaning fee is available to guests who bring their own sheets and towels. For details, and/or any other questions, please don't hesitate to contact us!

I am so attracted to this precious Park.
When we arrived at the location, it was dark and late so we couldn't see the place very well. The drive down the little street was not as bad as has been described at all. We drove up, unpacked some and went to bed comfortably. Adults in the downstairs bed and the kids in the mattresses upstairs...perfect fit. The space was more than adequate for our needs. Be careful upstairs as you will crack your noggen if you forget the ceiling height. The kids(7&9) loved having a little space of their own to sleep in! After making breakfast in the well stocked kitchen, we were off to the park. It was great not having to leave the park once we were in. It was great waking up to a family of deer grazing in the meadow next door, it was great to be able to be comfortable, warm and safe out there.
We have and will recommend this place to anybody that wants to come out to stay and experience the park. It left us absolutely thrilled to come back again. Two notes...pre-plan your meals, like you're going camping so you do not bring a bunch of extra groceries to then have to toss out. The loft upstairs is best suited for kids under 5ft. It is a great little sleepover space for 2-3 young kids, may be a little tight for older or taller ones.
Overall a great stay at a great spot. We'll be back!
We had a lovely time at the Humble Cabin. The loft was perfect for the kids and the location is perfect. The kitchen was fully stocked and we even cooked a Thanksgiving dinner. Perfect place to stay.
My wife and I stayed here for 4 days/3 nights in November 2016.
The directions provided were accurate, though I still used my GPS to get me there. We were really pleased to stay in a "tiny house" cabin. It met our needs for our short stay. It was beautifully decorated and had all the amenities we needed. The bed was a bit uncomfortable and space was limited in the bedroom, but that is to be expected in a "tiny house". It was very quiet and we felt like the only ones in this small residential area because we had a great view of the valley and mountains. The windows were focused east so we could see the sunrise.
-The 7 day pass is now $30 per vehicle. It should be paid prior to entering
-there are a total of 6 light switches when you enter the house, it will take some time to play with them to figure out their functions. One of the switches is for the porch light which is motion activated.
-There is no cell phone reception starting in Three Rivers into the park. Familiarize yourself with the directions before attempting to drive up.
-The road into the properties is loose gravel so be careful. I'd suggest driving an SUV or cross-over if possible. Off of Sycamore, it is a steep drive down with a couple tight turns. But after the first try it shouldn't be too bad.
-Wouldn't recommend for a group of more than 4. Works best for a couple or family w/ small children who can sleep in the loft.
-Includes all utensils and linens
-You can see the stars at night
-Within 45 minutes of main attractions
-Owner was very easy to communicate with and gave some good tips/suggestions for first time visitors like ourselves
-Some parts of the cabin need updating or maintenance, such as the screen door, futon and blinds (This is the only reason why I didn't give 5 stars)
-Be careful not to bang your shin against the low bed
I would definitely recommend this place to some friends and family and would like to come back in the summer!
We stayed in the Humble Cabin for a short visit to Sequoia National Park. The cabin was just as described, and our boys loved staying in the upstairs tiny loft area. Plenty of kitchen amenities to make staying in the cabin for all of our meals and morning coffee convenient. We would recommend staying here!
Loved that the cabin was right in the park. It was perfect size for our family of 5. The ceiling in the loft only being 4 feet high didn't bother us, since our 8 year olds could stand up and they slept up there. I would have given this place 5 stars, but the beds were completely terrible! The were all like futon mattresses. To the owner, "Do everyone a favor and put real mattresses in there."
We very much enjoyed our time in the cabin. It had all your basic amenities needed to be in a home away from home. (Much better than staying in a hotel!) Property owner Jane was quick to respond to any of our questions prior to our arrival. Property Manager Christine was easy to reach and addressed any of our questions or concerns very promptly (toliet seat broke and was fixed by the time we returned from our daily adventure in the park). I would easily recommend this cabin to anyone I know wishing to visit the park. Only issue we had was the steep roads getting to the cabin but this was more an issue with a low profile rental car and not being familiar with those types of roads.
