Bills Lake is a spring-fed all-sports lake. It is extremely clear and clean. The beach is grass covered and there is a great deal of shallow water by the shore for wading. The dock is long enough to accommodate your speed boat if you wish to bring one. The depth of the water at the end of the dock is about waist deep and is hard bottom from years of swimming. There is a drop off to deep water about 25' off the end of the dock. Fishermen seem to love the drop off so you can see right where it is. No weeds. The cottage was built in the 40s with fieldstone and logs. It sits on 3 acres and has 125' of lake frontage. Sleeps up to 10. Bedroom #1 has a queen bed, Bedroom #2 has a queen bed and Bedroom #3 has two built in bunk beds (4 twin size). The living room has a futon couch that can be used for additional sleep space. Two kayaks, canoe and row boat available. We've added a paddleboat that has a battery operated trolling motor if you just want to take a leisurely lap around the lake. Pets considered, but a non-refundable pet deposit of $100 per pet will be required. Fire pit with firewood provided. Cable TV and internet. The TV does have an HDMI port for playing movies off your laptop. Washer and dryer. Attached garage with garage door opener. Bed linens, kitchen towels, and bath linens included. Please bring your own beach towels and life jackets. Rentals are Sunday to Sunday. I would be happy to answer any questions you may have. Please feel free to call me (Laurel Young) at 616-901-0243.

I'm second generation for this cottage. My three boys are all grown and spread across the country. For now I will rent. I am a steward of this property for the next generation--and yes, the water really is that blue.
Laurel Kelly Young purchased this cabin in 1945
My boys have many happy memories of frog hunting, turtle hunting, knee boarding, wake boarding, water skiing, sailing, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, sleeping under the stars in the boat, bonfires, smores, roasted hot dogs, throwing the ball for the dog, bike riding, ice cream cones at Fergusons, floating down the Muskegon River, Going to the High Rollaway,
Decorated boat parade on the 4th of July. Boat races and trophies to win! Lakefest in early august. Check out billslake dot net for an events calendar.
Because the water is so clear it is a popular destination for scuba diving and snorkeling.
Felt like we just walked into Grandma's Cottage. The bathroom could use some updating. But it was a cottage.
Like we were camping. Nice views of the lake and very close to boat launch. That was nice.
The lake cottage was great! Having the lake and all the activities made for a perfect vacation. Laurel was a perfect hostess with emails about Bills Lake activities and area info it made the trip fun. Tubing on Muskegon river is a good family activity recommend to all. Fishing, boating, and the fire pit make the cottage a great vacation spot to relax.
Bills lake is beautiful, warm and peaceful. Loved fishing and wading around the dock. Also made use of the big campfire pit and gas grill many times. The cottage could have been cleaner and needed repair, particularly the flooring. The boats, too, were not assembled; the canoe cracked. We're a camping family so we enjoyed our stay.
