Bella Baracca construction was completed in July 2015. It is located in Hartswell, on the east end of Great Exuma.
Easily accessible, Great Exuma has daily flights from most major airlines into Georgetown (GGT). Once on Exuma, Hartswell is a quiet 18 mile drive across the island.
Bella Baracca is a very spacious 720 square feet with expansive views of the Caribbean sea from the front porch. The open design, with two bedrooms separated by the bathroom and open rafters, gives the feel of a much larger space.
After renting other peoples homes around the Caribbean, we developed the perfect property in our minds and set out to build it in the tropics. Perfect to us is quite simple and comes down to two things, cleanliness and functionality. All characteristics of this property were developed with these two qualities in mind.
When you enter the front door, you have the living room to the left and the kitchen to the right. The bathroom is straight ahead with bedroom on either side.
The kitchen with dinette is designed to be very easy to use right away. All of the counters and shelves are restaurant grade, stainless steel and there is not a door or drawer anywhere. This design eliminates the familiar feeling of not knowing where anything is during your stay. It will also be visibly clean.
While a small bathroom doesn't generally have many features to get excited about, we designed one in that we always enjoy. We have built in an oversized, glass door, tiled shower with two shower heads. The ceiling is open to the rafters, providing a large, open feeling. The bathroom will be stocked with fresh, bleach white towels before you arrive.
Both bedrooms are set up exactly the same with a full size bed, night stands, wardrobe and entertainment stand. There is a ceiling fan in both bedrooms to assist with air circulation. Like the bathroom, the linens are bleach white and will be freshly changed before you arrive.
The living room is a comfortable space with a couple futons for additional guests.

We have been traveling the Caribbean since our honeymoon in 2006. The more we traveled, the more we refined our definition of 'perfect get away'. Some places are gorgeous, but too difficult to get to. Others are easy to get to, but too developed for our tastes. Then we came across the Bahamas, easy to get to, yet not too developed. From there the decision was easy.
