Overview

Nicaragua Villa Rental Photos and Description

Villa, 2 Bedrooms, 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 4)

Casa Anita is a warm and inviting villa, with very comfortable furnishings, beautiful arches and columns that accent the main floor and surround a nice central pool and fountain. It is unique in the heart of Granada within 3 blocks of Central Park with all that it has to offer, such as Dining, Night Life, Shopping and Museums, just to mention a few.

There are two luxurious bedrooms upstairs that have ample space, very comfortable queen size beds, TV's with cable, airconditioning and each have on-suite baths.

Mild temperatures, blue skies spotted with white clouds, the sound of dove and kiskadee, an occasional glimpse of parrots just off the upstairs balcony. The sound of horse hooves on the cobble stone streets below, the aroma of breakfast cooking at one of the local restaurants around the corner....all while enjoying a cup of locally grown coffee. This is just one morning in the real everyday world at Casa Anita.

No trip to Nicaragua is complete without a trip to Granada to experience the warmth and hospitalility of it's people, and culture. It is a relaxed and easy pace where schedules and agendas are almost non-existant. You can leave your watch at home. A horse drawn carriage is just the right pace for taking in all of the historic sites, some of which date back to 1524, when Granada was founded.

Just a few blocks past Central Park and you will find Lake Nicaragua where boat tours are available to explore some of the 365 islands and habitats formed by the Mombacho Volcanic eruption from over 20,000 years ago. Now dormant, Mombacho reserve is mostly covered by a mystical cloud forrest. Tours are available for the adventurous at heart.

The villa comes equiped with Hot water on demand, which means you never run out!

About Anita Worrell

My husband is retired and I am a Registered Nurse and Director of Operations in a National Home Health Company. We have been married for 23 years and raised a blended family of five children. God has blessed us with twenty grandchildren. As strong Christians thank GOD fo the opportunity to own a villa in Nicaragua and pray that we are able to honor HIM with it.

Anita Worrell purchased this villa in 2011

Why Anita Worrell chose Nicaragua

My husband first traveled to Nicaragua in 1971 and was intrigued by the culture, however he was not able to return again until 2008 when we met up with his college roommate and friends who are originally from Nicaragua. We both fell in love instanlty with the warm people and the beautiful country and are in awe of the astonishing architechture and unique culture. We have intentions in the next few years of retiring to Nicaragua, however in the mean time thought we could enjoy our own piece of heaven. We searched tediously for a villa that was warm, inviting, elegant and close to everything and the first time we looked at it on-line we knew this was the one. Of course when you walk into Casa Anita you will see that you instantly feel at home. We decided to purchase this villa for a vacation rental and our home away from home until we retire to Nicaragua in the near future.

What makes this villa unique

Casa Anita is just 1 & 1/2 block from Mercedes Cathedral and 3 blocks form Central Park. In Central Park you will find anything you like from Horse Carriage rides to local art and crafts. Restaurants and Night LIfe surround Central Park. Just about 6 blocks further and you are at the 7th largest lake in the world. You can take a boat ride to the Isletas (Islands) and feed the monkeys on Monkey Island, swim, fish or just admire the serenity of it. Granada is a beautiful town with great architechture and amazing history.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Just wanted you to know how much we enjoyed our trip to Nicaragua. We could not have dreamed of such a trip until Mike started describing your casa, the food, the people, etc. Thank you for sharing. All was great. We ate at a different restaurant each meal except for one. Two times at the Artist’s Café for lunch. All meals were wonderful. The pool was such a nice break in the afternoon. Great idea! The last two days the temp was 95. February is really a great time.

Thank you again for making this experience possible.

magical, and absolutely perfect on all levels!!!

  • 5 of 5

We decided to do a very last minute trip to Nicaragua and chose Casa Anita as a first base and then travel on to stay on the coast and other places.....instead we extended our stay....twice! and then we stays the whole time. Anita was a perfect host and the team at the managing company answered each and every one of our many questions with patience, joy and knowledge. The casa is spotless, perfectly organized and very well equipped.....and the small indoor pool was soooo perfect to wake up in and to soak after a day of excitement every evening - our 5yo couldn't be any happier. Kayme, the daily cleaning person, very much deserved our farewell hugs as well and now, only hours after arriving back home again we already miss our heavenly oasis in the beautiful town of Granada.

Gorgeous property with Lovely Hosts

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Casa Anita early May for 3 nights. What a beautiful home right in the middle of Granada. Walking distance to all attractions and the pool provides a relief from the hot Afternoon sun. Anita and her husband happened to be there and they were so helpful and lovely. The only issue was the AC in the guest bedroom was broken what Anita thought it had been fixed (it happens) and my room was pretty hot. Just make sure the AC is fixed before you book. The gouse is gorgeous! And the town is charming and wonderful. The GPS staff was very helpful and friendly. Do not be alarmed by the dark street at night it is perfectly safe, only feels a bit unsafe when you first arrive as would anywhere in the town especially since it is on an alleyway. It is a wonderful home and I would stay again and reccomend to anyone!

Owner's Response: Eugenia, Happy you enjoyed your short stay. So sorry about the air conditioning but it has been fully replaced since your departure. Not quite sure what you meant by the home being on an alleyway, it is actually on a commonly used street. At night most of the streets in Granada get very quiet and empty. Our street does have a security guard from sundown until day break so safety is not an issue. We do hope you come back

Beautiful home

  • 5 of 5

Casa Anita is an Oassis in the midst of the busy city. I LOVED staying here. Anita was so responsive always responding immediately prior to our arrival and then also if we needed anything while here (We only contacted her if we needed something and couldn't get ahold of GPS). The pool is a lifesaver during the HOT days. The only issue we had was the AC in the guest bedroom did not work, but this was just a mishap and was to be fixed shortly. Nevertheless Anita was so apologetic and assured me that this doesn't usually happen. I would just make sure the AC is working before your trip as it was stifling hot in the room. Anita and her husband were amazing and so friendly. They happened to be in Granada at the same time we were and gave us so many wonderful tips and advice. I would definitely recommend Casa Anita. My best advice is do not be alarmed that the home is on a quite street, when we first arrived we were service but by our last day we felt very comfortable. Great Stay!

Owner's Response: Eugenia, So glad you came and stayed with us. Yes, unfortunately the air conditioning went out but it has been completely replaced since your departure and is working great now. It was our pleasure to show you around and give some tips as we know how a new city/country can be intimidating. We do hope that you will come back to see us again.

Wonderful Home!

  • 5 of 5

This villa was everything you could ask for. My son and I stayed here for 3 nights as we explored Granada. Great location, just a few minutes walk to center city. The home was beautifully decorated, and, although we didn't cook while we were there, it was supplied with everything you'd need as well as fresh bottled water. The pool was refreshing to come home to after a long walk around the city. The rooms were lovely and the air conditioning was a welcome change from the other places we had stayed around Nicaragua on our journeys. You need that AC in April. The management staff was superb, responding within minutes every time I emailed them. I would highly recommend Casa Anita!

Lovely Colonial Home!

  • 4 of 5

Casita Anita is a very clean and lovely colonial style home which is a short walk from Central Park. The property is well cared for by the property management company who ensure you have everything you need. The cleaning lady came everyday to clean and make the beds which was a nice touch. The washing machine was not working but the property management company had someone pick up our laundry and deliver it back to us the next day free of charge. The machine was working again before the end of the week. The property management staff were helpful in assisting us with a taxi to take a tour to Masaya and we used that taxi driver several times after that. The pool in the house, although small, was a wonderful way to cool down after a hot afternoon or right before bed. I would say that perhaps the couch and the mattresses should be replaced soon as they are well worn and not very comfortable. Also, the other couple who stayed with us said their AC was very noisy and at times kept them awake. These are things that can be changed. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Casa Anita.
