Why Lisa Slagter... chose San Diego

This property is conveniently close to San Diego State. I know many of families that want to visit there and need a place close by. This home is affordable and close to many activities. Lake Murray, Cow's Mountain, Fashion Valley. Plus, there is more sunshine in La Mesa compared to other parts of San Diego.

Very enjoyable stay

  • 3 of 5

We enjoyed our stay very much. We were there during a very hot week so when we got there the house was very hot and it took a while to cool down.

Overall it was a pleasant stay and we would definitely stay there again.

This house was perfect ! We were in SD visiting family and needed a place for 3 adults. The house was only 6 miles from our family, and the place was spotless ! My 77 year old Mom was traveling with us and being from Louisiana we were concerned about the fact that there was no a/c. However, the owner indicated that she was installing a window unit before our arrival. We didn't need it much during our stay, but we were thankful to have it a few times.

Perhaps the linens need to be replaced, but no other down side to staying HERE !!!!! It is a great mix of old world charm and modern conveniences all rolled into one place. Thanks to the owner for sharing the house with us, and giving us such a great vacation and visit with family.

Sunshine in La Mesa

This place is the pearl - a very peaceful, relaxing bungalow home with the bones of an old 30's house (original wood floors, arched doorway to hall) and the sophistication of a boutique hotel all in one. The owner

did a great job maintaining the charm yet made it a luxury get away. The kitchen and back yard are the

main attractions. The kitchen has brand new stainless steel high end appliances and the kitchen extends into this great den area. The back yard has mature plants with a grand old tree. It feels like home the minute you step into the place. The owner is exceptionally great to work with - we were very pleased ( we stayed a week and then came back 2 weekends later!)

This place is 5 minutes (one exit) from SDSU - super easy commute. The main streets are not exactly the high end area but once you are at the house the place is safe and its the pearl!
