About Jacqueline Hammond

Restless Native is a family owned company with one boat in our 'Fleet'. Our boat 'Aria' was our home for over a year in Europe and the Caribbean. After a bout with cancer, I decided that I wanted to spend some very good quality time with my family without the normal day to day distractions.

In June 2007 we went to live on Aria. After six weeks of outfitting our boat in the beautiful French Port of La Rochelle on the Atlantic Ocean we departed for Spain. We sailed to Spain, Portugal, Gibraltar and into the Mediterranean.

Since the weather was bad and getting worse, we had a crew sail Aria from Barcelona, Spain to the British Virgin Islands in the Caribbean.

We sailed the Caribbean for several months until we returned home to Hawaii.

We now live in the wonderful Florida Keys where we are able to enjoy sailing Aria whenever we want to.

Jacqueline Hammond purchased this yacht in 2007

Why Jacqueline Hammond chose Key West

Key West is a wonderful and vibrant city with terrific restaurants, hotels, friendly people, great diving, snorkeling and of course, sailing.

Our location in the Historic City Marina in 'Old Town' is ideal. It is the most protected berth in the harbor and we are close to everything that Key West offers. During the day, the seaport is a bustling harbor but at night it is extremely quiet and serene.

We want to share our love for the water with new friends and this is the ideal way.

What makes this yacht unique

Staying onboard a luxury yacht in the Historic Seaport of Key West is a unique experience. You can enjoy the amenities of a luxury hotel and still be part of the community. All stays include private crewed sailing time.

Do you dream of sailing on a yacht? Aria is 42 feet long by 25 feet wide and is very spacious and stable. Living on a boat is a unique experience for those who love the boating lifestyle and the water. This is the perfect way to experience the real Key West.

Amazing Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We can't say enough about this trip! Everything was amazing!! The catamaran was everything we had hoped for very clean and the beds were actually very comfortable we slept great. Captain Mark was wonderful he took on the most beautiful sunset cruise we will never forget that sunset unbelievable. Captain Mark was always around if we needed him. This was definitely a amazing way to celebrate my husbands 50 th birthday. We are so glad we did this. Sorry to hear that the boat is up for sail we would have loved to have come back. As for the hurricane that was there a few weeks ago the Keys actually looked great but the drive from Fort Lauderdale to Keys was very sad.

Thanks so much!

Long week-end in Key West

  • 5 of 5

The pictures of the yacht posted on VRBO, do not do the yacht justice. The boat is beautiful, well kept, and spotless. Everything you need for a relaxing stay is available; stove, oven, coffee maker, microwave, two small refrigerators (with small freezers), cookware, dishes, etc... There are plenty of towels for both bathing and swimming. The beds and pillows were soooo comfortable, and the area very quiet yet close to all the action; could not have asked for a better location. Captain Marc, and First Mate Lisa, were so nice, very personable. Was great taking the boat out for snorkeling and seeing the sun set. If I had to say one negative, it's that showers were finished before the hot water ever kicked in. Was plenty of hot water from the kitchen faucet, though. Was informed I should have left the shower water run until there was hot water. However, since on a boat, was trying to conserve the water. Will know for next time. Would definitely recommend. Wish I could have stayed longer.

PERFECT STAY IN KEY WEST

  • 5 of 5

We were 3 couples visiting Key West for 4 nights. We chose a catamaran because we were all familiar with sailing and knew what to expect aboard a boat, and the price was more acceptable than the local hotels. Our captain Mark couldn't have been nicer, and readily available if we were to need him. He took us on a sunset cruise ON Easter Sunday!!! It was just delightful. I was nervous about sleeping aboard, because every boat I've ever been on rocked and kept me awake with sloshing. Not The Aria. She has the perfect dockage!!!! No wake! I loved that this was NOT a hotel room! Husbands didn't get to just sit around and watch tv. We all sat either in the galley or on deck and talked, and watched the passers-by. The location was IDEAL! Our bicycle rentals were a block away, breakfast and small grocery store even closer. We loved it. But be aware if you've never been on a boat before. Storage is limited, spaces are quite small. You'd better like the people you are with.

Great Trip

  • 5 of 5

Great location , couldn't have asked for a better location. The boat was very roomie and as advertised. The marina is in the historic seaport you are about a block from Duvall Street. We rented bikes from Easton Bikes , used the pool at Dantes which is a stones throw from the boat.

It is a boat so you should understand it's not a hotel room but your living on a boat. We mostly used the marinas bathhouse for showers in lieu of the boats. The other side of coin is got more sun just laying on the front of the boat with all the creature comforts of home.

My only concern would be in the heat of the summer July and August whether the AC could keep up. It was fine for us.

The marinas wif was really poor essentially just used our cell service , both AT&T and Verizon worked great.

Try the Cuban Coffe queen for coffee in the morning you are literally surrounded by restaurants that you can see from your boat. There is a small store across the street from marina has all the stuff you would need , plenty of shopping all around, we had a great trip!
