About Jay and Jen Ware

Our family has a very special place in our hearts for this house. We love to ski and snowshoe here in the winter and hike and bike in the summer. Georgetown makes us feel like we have stepped into a much simpler world. Time moves slower and families spend more time just enjoying time together.

Jen is a retired Army officer. She spent 2010 in Afghanistan and when she got home, one of the first places she wanted to go was to this house. Jay is a general contractor focusing on home remodeling. Much of the bottom level of house has been remodeled by Jay. He is always working on something whenever he comes to the house to make each stay even better for guests. We are excited for a major bathroom remodel coming Spring of 2016. It is a very special place, and we hope you and your family and friends will enjoy it as much as we do.

Jay and Jen Ware purchased this house in 2007

Why Jay and Jen Ware chose Georgetown

Jen grew up coming to Georgetown. Her family friends owned a house here, and still do. She has decades of fond memories of this wonderful town. Our kids grew up coming to this house. They love the bunk room especially ! The people of Georgetown are so friendly and kind. We love visiting the shop owners and residents when we walk around town. Georgetown is unique as we feel totally comfortable allowing the kids to walk downtown alone to get a treat. The location of this house is perfect. It is just a 3 minute walk to downtown, so you get the best of both worlds. You get jaw dropping vistas of Rocky Mountain scenery from the front and back of our house and the convenience of being very close to the historic downtown shops and restaraunts. We are a five minute walk (walking under Devil's Gate Bridge on the way) to the Georgetown Loop railroad depot. Awesome hiking opportunities starting right from the house. There are quite a few amazing homes in Georgetown. We are thankful to own one of the very special ones.

What makes this house unique

We love being so close to the creek, the Georgetown Loop railroad, amazing skiing, hiking, snow shoeing, river rafting, zip lines, and the beautiful, historic town of Georgetown and it's wonderful people. The front porch is the perfect place to take in all of the beauty of the Rocky Mountains while snacking on some wine and cheese and experiencing the company of friends and family. The kids bunk room is a cool place for the kids to have their own private hangout. The kitchen is well stocked and ready for you to whip up a meal for you and your hungry travelers. Loop's End is such a unique place that you, your family, friends and co-travelers will all agree that you have picked the perfect place to stay. We have hosted some really fantastic groups at our home. Our home has hosted reunions, wedding parties, ski trips, vacations, hill climbers, international trecking groups, international travelers and people just wanting to come up to the beautiful Colorado mountains, relax and take in some of the best nature has to offer. We often have guests check in and immediately send us a text or email about how happy they are with the home and how pleased they are that everything is "as advertised" on the site. We take communication with our guests seriously. Don't be surprised when you send an inquiry and get a response back right away as if you were texting us because, actually, that is usually what is happening. We try to drop everything and get back to you ASAP because we know you are busy and it's frustrating to get excited about a place only to find out you are shouting down an empty well. We think our home is pretty awesome and we're pretty sure you and your group will too!

Guestbook comments from the owner

One of the best weekends our family has ever had together! Thank you so much for the wonderful cabin. It was a great place for our family. Great memories in the town and house! We loved it. We never got bored with all the things you had for us.

Comfortable and Charming

Thumbs up for this property and owners! My family and I stayed here for 4 nights in June and were more than happy with the accommodations. The house was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked and ready for cooking and there were plenty of linens throughout the house. Perfect for a large group. We had 5 adults, 2 teens, and a small child. Nobody was ever waiting for a bathroom and we never ran out of hot water! It was definitely a wonderful treat to stay here.

We spent several days at Loop's End for our family vacation. The house was very comfortable and well stocked with everything we needed. The children enjoyed the bunk-bed room complete with toys while the adults loved the big porch! We all loved the big up-dated bathroom.😊 (Even took some pictures for ideas we might use at home -good job!)

Our activities in the area included a train ride on the Georgetown Loop Railroad; mine tour and panning for gold; and a trip into Denver for a baseball game. We found Georgetown to be a convenient location for a variety of activities and "Loop's End" a wonderful place to stay.

Wonderful and Special Place to Stay

  • 5 of 5

We were at Loop’s End for a family reunion to celebrate two big birthdays. There were eight of us and the house was perfect for all the various couple and single arrangements. The house was stocked very well for cooking and enjoyment. The linens and towels were very high quality. The bedrooms were large and the beds were very comfortable. We particularly enjoyed the large front porch. We had great weather and spent most of our time at the house enjoying the mountain breezes while sitting on the porch. The house feels very private and the views are spectacular. The new upstairs bathroom is a brilliant combination of charm and modern style. Really well done. We all felt the house was very special and would recommend it to anyone.

Beautiful homey place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

Our large family (5 different family units ranging in ages from 1 to 62) stayed together in this beautiful charming home. It is obvious that the owners take great pride in their property and want their guests to feel welcome and comfortable. We each had our own space in the house as well as comfortable shared spaces. We were able to sightsee during the day and come 'home' every night and enjoy time together around the dinner table and the fireplace. The house is fully stocked with so many comfort items, food, towels, games, toiletries, etc. it truly felt like home. We would definitely recommend it to anyone traveling in the area.
