You get what you pay for...
My nightly rate was only somewhere around $70, so I should have had different expectations. But both of my rooms (had to switch because of loud noises) were dated, the patios nothing like in the pictures and both had cracked tiles in the bathroom. But for $70/night, what do you expect?
A nice place to stay close to food and drink
The room was clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful. The room was not available at the time it was supposed to be but the staff was very accommodating. It is nicely located behind Tlaquepaque with a lot of options for food and drink as well as a nice place to walk around and shop.
Would definitely stay here again.
Good Value but tired
When you compare the costs in the area, Los Abrigados was definitely a good value. We had asked for a quiet corner for a romantic getaway and they placed us in a lovely studio on the edge of the property. We had a fireplace, which added to the ambiance. Our room was tired. There were cobwebs hanging from the lovely vaulted ceiling. Our large washroom had a number of broken tiles and there appeared to be black mold around the soap dish. It just seemed a little neglected. We had a plugged toilet upon arrival but it was remedied within 10 minutes of a call to the front desk, so this impressed us. We could have done without the timeshare offering at both check in and check out (there's nothing free about a 'free gift'). We did not go to the on property restaurants, but we enjoyed a lovely breakfast at El Portal, which was a very short walk off of the main entrance. For dinner we went to our favourite restaurant, Elote where we were able to chat with the owner/chef and purchase his cookbook. Another fantastic meal!
Los Abrigodos is a very comfortable resort, in a great location for a vacation in Sedona, Az.
The property is a set of mature buildings that have been maintained. The sound proofing between floors could be improved. The grounds around the resort are great for walking. The suites are clean, comfortable and equipped. Finding a convenient parking spot can sometimes be a problem. No breakfast service in the restaurant was a disappointment on some busy mornings; especially on the checkout day.
Clean, quiet and close to main shopping area
Place was clean and quiet, but a little on the old side. The resort was just okay. Never ate there because other places seemed nicer. Parking lot fills fast but we never couldn't find a place.
-no hair dryer
I would stay again because it's a great price for that location
The price was right...
The property is incredible, truly a haven with a river running through it. But I was a little disappointed in the "kitchenette-suite". It consisted of a microwave on top of a mini-fridge... no counter space. Dishes were provided, including real wine glasses & all you would need for a short stay, but not as the picture lead me to believe. Also, the room darkening shades worked great for the windows... but the main door only had mini-blinds for privacy, so the florescent lighting from the landing blasted through all night. Ugh!
