The proprietors have been fishing, camping and hiking the wilds in and around New Lancaster Valley since being introduced to the area in 1982 by two brothers, who had been fishing the local creeks and mountain streams since the 1930's. The owner served as a Navy JAG onboard what President Ronald Reagan named "America's Flag Ship" USS Constellation CV64 and every leave returned to Penns Creek to chase trout. The brothers, who introduced the owners- two fine fisherman and story tellers both, are indicative of the local people, full of life, generosity and exuberance. The idea for a cabin was spurred by the proprietors' two sons-- who grew up wading and fishing the streams of the mountains on family vacations. The land alongside beautiful Honey Creek where the cabin was built, was discovered by the proprietors' eldest son. The family had the idea to build a cabin so they could spend more time together in the Valley and mountains they enjoy so much. And so after a three year search for ground and two years of planning and construction with the assistance and camaraderie of the proprietors' family, friends, fishing companions and business associates, Camp Honey Creek became a reality. The proprietors hope you enjoy the Camp, local people, wildlife and outdoors activities as much as they do and that you come away with your own stories to tell your grandchildren.

Great weekend - Penn State + Central PA wilderness
Beautiful property and cabin, deep in the woods but an easy 40-45 minutes from State College/Penn State. We enjoyed the fire pit each night, and hiked around a bit. The owners were incredibly helpful and could not have been more accommodating with one minor issue we had.
Will definitely be back!
It is always our great pleasure to welcome guests, their families and friends to Nee Lancaster Valley to attend Penn State Football games, and other Nittany Lion sporting and school events; world class fly fishing , or just relaxing and enjoying the many outdoor treasures that Central Pennsylvania has to offer.
We had a great time bonding with our family. We stayed at Camp Honeycreek because my son graduated .
The place is beautiful and very clean. The outside area is just as nice. It is very secluded and is a great place to spend quality time with loved ones. Danny, the owner, is very easy to reach and gave us suggestion on what to do in the area. It is about 45 minutes from Penn State. There is no wi fi or cell phone accessibility at the house which is the only downfall but you can get reception about 10 minutes away . I would recommend this property to others.
Where to begin! This property is absolutely stunning!!! Pictures do not due justice for how beautiful this cabin is. It truly is a home away from home. The cabin is furnished with so many nice little amenities. The inside is impeccably clean and the craftsmanship amazing. We utilized every aspect of the property - cozy inside furnishings, lovely sundeck, fire pit, walking path to the river and more. We felt like we were at our own private resort!
Can't say enough about the owners either. Very, very gracious on so many levels! Always available for any questions that I had, extremely gracious on accommodations for our hectic schedule and just wonderful to deal with. Thank you, thank you!
Looking forward to returning for another vacation oasis!
I would highly recommend this property. The listing details are very accurate as are the pictures. This is a lovely home which is well-maintained and impecably kept. My family was very comfortable staying here and it made our daughter's graduation that much more enjoyable for all!!

Treuly a remarkable blend of old worrld techniques with new age amenities .
Fantastic Place - Great getaway
This property is awesome. It's a special place, clearly built by craftsman with attention to detail. The site is beautiful. The gorgeous stone steps/patio with the fire pit are extremely conducive to great conversation and bonding. You can catch fish in the brook behind the house, or make the short drive through the state park to various locations. If I were building my own home away from home to be in the woods near flyfishing, this would be my model.
Perfect if you are visiting State College, Bellafonte, and within 52 minutes of the Susquehanna University Campus. The cabin is 3 miles from Reeds Gap State Park located close to Amish farm country in the heart of New Lancaster Valley in the 7 mountains wilderness area of Central Pennsylvania, Camp Honey Creek is within easy driving, hiking or biking distance of some of the best canoeing, kayaking, antiquing, caving, fly fishing, tubing, bird watching, hiking, biking, antiquing, hunting, and sightseeing that the Keystone State has to offer without the crowds and congestion associated with other popular outdoor areas.
