About Barb Pohlman

Don, Judi, Ron and I are now the owners of 3 homes in the Branson/Hollister area: Elegant Quiet Cottage (2010), Woodland Haven (2012) both located in Branson Canyon, and now the owners of Greystone Refuge (Jan 2015) located in the Branson Creek development.

Many years ago, the four of us had a wonderful dream of creating a partnership as vacation home owners.

A few years ago, we visited beautiful Branson Canyon and stayed in one of their 6 Bedroom homes with about 21 of us. We just LOVED it! Not only did we enjoy Branson and all it has to offer, but we also had a blast on Table Rock Lake...jet skiing, tubing, and cruising the lake in an awesome tritoon we rented from the State Park Marina (just 5 miles from our home).

Our dream came alive in 2010 with our first purchase, and we have continued to build on that in 2015.

God has blessed us with families that make our vacation time together over the top!! Together our families consist of 12 children and 13 grandchildren, so Branson Canyon and the Branson area is ideal for us.

Utilizing our partnership, along with some of the BEST guests anyone could ask for, has truly turned our dream into a reality. We thank God for his guidance and pray our homes bless all those who enter with memories that last a lifetime.

Another Amazing Stay

This was our second time to stay here, and again we had a lovely time. The house was perfect. There was even a Christmas tree! All the kids were so excited to see it when they walked through the door. The house had everything we needed and was very clean. We have previously booked other houses on VRBO for other vacations elsewhere and usually I am not satisfied with the cleanliness. I am a bit of a neat freak. This property, for this stay and a previous one, met all my requirements on cleanliness! I highly recommend this property and will definitely rent this property again if it's available.

I never dreamed this home would be so beautiful and accomadating. Pictures doesn't do it justice. We had 14 ladies stay here for our Pentecostal Ladies Retreat and we all had a bed and plenty of room without feeling like we was in each other's way. Barbara was such a PLEASURE to work with !! I would recommend this to anyone looking for a nice little retreat for a large group. God bless you, Barbara!!

Wonderful girls weekend

The house was perfect for our weekend away with my sister and our 5 daughters. The location was convenient and the house provided everything we needed......except blow dryers for hair. First time we have stayed in a house without them. It would be a great house for a family vacation.

Owner's Response: What great guests!! We sure appreciate our cleaning manager and her crew. They are so passionate about our guest's comfort and satisfaction. We are also blessed with a crew of people who take great care of our home like making sure we get the AC operating properly.

Not a pleasant experience... Expected more kindness from our Midwest visit.

This is the oddest neighborhood I've ever stayed in. Beautifully set into the rolling hills of Hollister, @ 15 mins to Branson. The house was big enough to fit our 3 families 11 ppl total, but it was sparsely stocked w/ the cheapest items you can find. It could have fit up to 14 people "comfortably" yet it had the smallest pots & pans to cook for the big crowd. How does one cook for 11 folks - 6-7 lbs of meat, beans, rice, etc - when all they have is a 2 qt pot & smaller?! No serving platters. Cruddy plastic cooking tools that bend under the weight of the food. My favorite part: having to use hand towels for kitchen towels. Oh, and a moldy smelling front load washer. Fantastic.

They're apparently very uptight about their HOA rules. We had 2 encounters w/ rude neighbors, both at the pool... One older lady came by the pool all hysterical and yelled at us that while she knew we were "just renters" we needed to follow the rules & take our towels off the rail. Reminded us we were "just renters" 5 times. " And do NOT park in the street", heaven forbid... Then the next day at our arrival to the pool, a grumpy old man rudely reminded us to close the gate behind us... We hadn't even put down all of our stuff on the table yet, all arms were full. His wife had her dress on the rail... apparently that's not a issue, only towels? We left shortly after when a young man announced his little sister had a bugger on her and then I saw him wipe it off and put it right in the pool!!!

This isn't an RV, you shouldn't have to buy essentials when you fly (which we did) or drive to a rental home. Much like towels & sheets, you expect certain daily needs to be met...I had to run to the store for sponges, TP, paper towels, a stock pot to cook for our large group, salt & pepper, ice, Tupperware, aluminum foil and garbage bags. We've stayed at plenty of rental homes & NONE have ever been this devoid of essentials.

We also felt like we were being watched by nosey neighbors too... Some lady saw us playing w/ water balloons on the front lawn & proceeded to drive by multiple times. The morning we left, same lady was parked outside watching to see if we left on time... Seriously. Why not just add to the HOA that owners can't rent, if you don't like renters and refuse to be cordial to them.

Oh, and signs up yelling at us to not move the furniture, not to reboot the router or lose any remotes or you'll be fined.

Too much $ for 5 days... UGH. #justrenters #notworthit

Owner's Response: As anyone could imagine, this was a very tough review to receive. One of our main business values that we pride ourselves in is “Customer Satisfaction.” We hope you can see this within all our reviews. We value all our guests’ comments. We truly enjoy making our vacation home a place where all our guests feel like this is their perfect vacation home and that we’ve provided everything that makes for a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. We never want our guests to be surprised upon arrival about what might be missing at our vacation home, so we make sure they sign a rental agreement that clearly states what we provide, etc. Each of our guests complete and sign their rental agreement before they arrive at our vacation home. The rental agreement not only lets you know your check-in and check-out times, but also lets you know check-out procedures, house rules, etc. We do appreciate feedback while staying at our vacation home. When requests are within reason, we do everything within our power to accommodate all our guests’ requests. More importantly, NO guest, nor anyone for that matter, should be treated as these guests were by anyone within the community. I only wish our guests would have told us about this rude behavior while they were staying there since our guest later gave us a pretty clear description of the rude people and a vehicle as well. We actually could have done something about this offense during their stay. We have since reported this very rude and offensive behavior to our HOA President to ensure this NEVER happens to any future guests within the community. We appreciate and are blessed beyond measure with all our guests and our repeat guests.
