|Minimum Stay||30 nights|
Just steps from Golden Gate Park, the de Young museum, the Academy of Sciences and public transportation, this apartment is located in the heart of the city.
Two light-filled bedrooms (one furnished with a queen, the other with twin bunk beds), full kitchen (including dishwasher) and laundry in unit. This apartment is newly renovated and family-friendly (though not child proof!). Easy walking distance to many restaurants, cafés, and shops. The owners are knowledgeable about the area and the city at large, and are happy to help make your stay a memorable one!
Free WiFi. DVD player and flat screen TV in living room.
We had a very nice time and so did our son (3yo). There is a playground just a block away and all the park you could want. It was very easy to get downtown via public transportation. Grocery store is just a few blocks walk. Isa and Tony were great hosts. We highly recommend staying here. If we are back in the area we will look to stay here first.
We (2 adults and 2 kids, 1 and 4 years old) stayed in this apartment for almost three months and enjoyed it a lot. The apartment was well suited for a family with young kids, although we had to change the diapers on the bed - but that worked just fine for us.
When we arrived we could borrow a stroller and a booster seat from the hosts, and they had one child seat in the kitchen. After our stay it might be even more suited for families with kids as we added some additional kitchen equipment (including a micro wave oven) and (probably?) also left two child car seats - at least our taxi driver promised to return them to the host family.
The description and the pictures are very accurate and there were no surprises. The hosts live upstairs and were really friendly and flexible and we went upstairs frequently to ask questions and borrow some things from time to time. The hosts also have kids so we could also play together out in the backyard when the weather was nice.
You enter the apartment through the garage door, but you also have a second door inside with your own keys. A bus stop was just a few steps away and the bus (5 or 5R) could take you to the financial district in about 30-40 minutes depending on traffic. The Golden Gate park was really close by as well, with a descent playground just on the other side of Fulton street, and a really nice playground on the south east corner (close to Haight street).
The neighborhood is really calm and friendly, with lots of very typical San Francisco residential buildings. A large Safeway store is located three blocks away on Cabrillo St. A Whole Foods market is located across Golden Gate park, on Stanyan St and on the other direction its a short walk down to Geary Blvd and Clement Street that has nice restaurants, Chinese food markets and other various shops.
Given the value for money, the nice location and the friendly hosts I would really recommend this apartment.
We are a family of four with two young children (ages 4.5 and 2 years old). We chose this apartment based on the photos, description, and proximity to Golden Gate Park. We could not have been happier with this apartment. We found the apartment to be exactly as described and pictured by the owners. The apartment is clean and uncluttered, and there is quite a bit of natural light throughout the day, which makes the bedrooms and kitchen especially cheery. Though the apartment is compact, it is well-designed with an efficient layout. Somehow we were even able to entertain another family of five for an afternoon. The owners were fantastically friendly, welcoming, and helpful. There is no better location for a family with young kids. The neighborhood has a kid-friendly, casual vibe, and the apartment is 5 min walking distance to a small playground inside of Golden Gate Park, 7 min to the Academy of Sciences (loved the rainforest and toddler Discovery Zone), 7 min walk to a Safeway supermarket, 10-15 min walk to the Richmond Branch library/playground (free storytimes daily) and 15 min to a vast variety of Asian restaurants, bakeries, and markets on Clement St. We used a combination of these locations daily. We also walked down Geary Ave. to the Thom's Natural Food Market and the Royal Market Bakery (fresh chicken thighs). The bodega just up the street has a pretty good selection of beer.The apartment is very close to the Fulton Ave, Balboa, and Geary bus lines, which was helpful for getting to places such as the Children's Creativity Museum. Almost daily my husband walked across the park to use the Judah line, so that's another option for getting around. Our favorite restaurants across the park were Napolita (Mexican), San Tung (korean fried chicken), and Holy Gelato (vegan gelato). We loved this apartment so much during our time there and would not hesitate to recommend it a friend or relative. My son cried very hard the night he realized it was time to say goodbye to our new friends and our "home" in San Francisco. I can't wait until we have an opportunity to return, and we will be staying here if it's available. [PS: My 4.5 year old son wanted me to add that he enjoyed eating his gelato while watching the Muni pass by and thinks other kids will like that too.]
We couldn't have been more pleased with this apartment. It is as lovely as it appears in the photos, exceptionally clean and met all our needs. Ample space, a great kitchen, comfortable beds with nice linens, on a quiet street just one block from Golden Gate Park, this was a nice place to stay.
We were there for medical reasons and needed to be close to Parnassus Medical Center. Quiet atmosphere for recovery; we appreciated ground level in SF and access to the back garden. Grocery store just a few blocks away. The hosts are very gracious and attentive. They went beyond what one would expect to be sure our needs were met. We highly recommend this facility.
We really enjoyed our stay in this apartment when we were in San Francisco. It is beatiful, comfortable and with such natural light. The description was accurated and we found what we expected. Very new, well equipped and clean.
We travelled with our kids and they really enjoyed the garden. The apartment is also really comfortable and equipped if you travel with kids.
We liked the location because is a quiet zone, really close to The Golden Gate Park, with many activities and good museums. Well connected with public transportation, bus stops really close.
Tony and Isa were very friendly, helpful and attentive. They were respondig very fast to any questions we had since the beginning, also during the booking process.
We would recommend it to our friends and we would stay there again!
