Why Mike, Beth Ann Cantin chose Western Maine

We have always dreamed of owning a cottage on a lake and this is the perfect setting. We fell in love with it the minute we saw it. It is off of the main road making it the perfect setting for small children. The sandy beach and beautiful mountain views are breathtaking. It is the perfect place to get away from all the hustle and bustle of every day life, but still close enough to all of the attractions of the White Mountains if we want to enjoy them.

Great spot!

  • 5 of 5

My family spent last week at the camp on Lovewell Pond and had a great time.

The camp is very comfortable, and comes with everything needed, including a well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, a canoe, two kayaks, and a paddle boat. The waterfront has a great beach, although the water level was low, probably due to the historic drought we're experiencing this year.

The property is private and very quiet......just the thing for unwinding.

The owners were very friendly and helpful.

What a great spot. We loved it.

This rental is the best I've seen, it has everything you would need to have a great time. The week we had was great, we had bald eagles, a family of loons and a couple flocks of geese all week. We also found a great restaurant, White Mountain Resort, at seeing it you would think you need to be dressed, but you don't. GREAT FOOD !! I would highly recommend it. We have been renting this place for about 7 years now, and as long as Beth Ann is willing to rent it, I will be coming back. It is that GOOD Thanks Beth Ann The Brown Family

Perfect lakefront cottage for family

  • 4 of 5

We can't say enough about how great our week was staying in this home. Classic family lake cottage feel. No frills but everything we wanted/needed! The huge sandy beach was great for our young kids. Kids loved going out in the boats and kayaks. We loved being close to Jockey Cap, Mt Pleasant/Shawnee Peak for hiking and close to Story Land for fun day trip. Also, we brought bikes since we were right down the road from a beautiful bike path/rail trail.

Excellent. The owners took care to think of every anticipated need from fans to s'more sticks.

Neat. Clean. Every amenity you could think of from a keurig and regular coffee makers to extra pillows and blankets. Contrary to other comments the house was NOT stuffy at all and the beach when when the water was low had a apace where you could walk out that was sand (having been to other beaches on the pond, this was better than average). The beach is one of the best on the lake and all day has sun and also some shade. There was so much fun at the beach and water that I went a whole week without getting in my car. A special bonus is the rail trail the is about 5 miles on. Relatively flat. And just at the end of the fire road. The supply of boats and life jackets was great. And I really didn't need to bring any tube. Noodles or floats because they were already there. We are definately going back again. Dorice. Manchester NH.

It was amazing being on this side of the pond again after so many years. The beach wa big enough to play games- bocce and washers. We were disappointed that the water was low but happy to have all the boats available. The house was well stocked for even Italians. The only downside was the dampness in the house caused us to have allergy problems. We opened windows and the cellar during the days. It helped. So pleasant having coffee in the morning watching the hummingbirds. We highly recommend using this rental for families.

Another great week!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second time staying here and the first since Beth Ann and Mike bought it. We were thrilled that it still had its rustic charm with some great updates (like a washer/dryer!). It has plenty of space and the view can't be beat.

The water was exceptionally low when we went, so the water was a little mucky. This is not a problem at this cottage when the water is higher, but I'd recommend that anyone staying here bring water shoes just in case.

Thanks, Cantins!
