Hi my name is Shelly. I grew up just down the road in York, Maine and raised my children (2 sons) through their younger years in Wells, Maine. When they became school aged we moved to Kennebunk were I have worked for the school system for 17 years. I have summers free which leaves me time to manage a HomeAway property for the summer. In past years I have worked seasonally for fine resorts and know what guests need and want. I consider myself to be adventurous and know the good spots to hike, bike, surf etc. I look forward to meeting my guests and am ready to assist in any way that I can :)

Kennebunk has a great sense of community and the people are very warm and friendly. You can feel the vibe the minute you make your way to Main Street! It is very apparent that it is a community that cares. The beaches and quaint Kennebunkport are most likely the two top reasons the Kennebunks are so popular during the summer season.
I fell in love with this home because of all the light that filters into the living space. With so many windows in such a small house it is always bright and sunny and welcoming! All interior lighting are on dimmer switches to enhance the mood at different times of the day. All floors are wood and in the bathroom tile that looks like wood! The layout of rooms makes a lot of sense too. The back yard is private and is a great place to unwind and cook on the grill. A covered screened in porch adds to the living space. The gas cooking inside is also a treat. There are all brand new high end appliance in the kitchen which makes cooking fun. Also a washer and dryer in the basement and some storage in the garage for any recreational extras (bicycles, kayaks, surfboards etc) you'd like to bring along.
Loved the house especially the enclosed back porch. Nicely remodeled and very clean.
We really enjoyed our stay in Kennebunk! Your home was such a nice and relaxing place. I loved having my morning coffee on the screened porch, too.
This is our second year at 1 Parsons and, again, we highly recommend it to others. We have three little children (6, 4 & 2.5) and the house worked perfectly for us. There is a great screened-in porch where we had meals, read and did puzzles; a fenced-in backyard where we played outside; a washing machine; a fun shower; and (within a short walk) a grassy park, an awesome playground, an ice cream shop (with gelato) and a funky toy store. Also, it is about a 10 minute drive from an adorable beach that is never crowded, has cool tidal pools, is small enough to let little kids run around, and has a good playground.
With bigger kids, more than two might start to get crowded in the house. But with kids our size, there was plenty of space.
Also, the owner is super-helpful and friendly.
Our family of 4 thoroughly enjoyed our time here. From using the modern and spacious kitchen to prepare lobster dinners which we enjoyed on the screened in, bug-free porch to the comfy beds, to the beach toys and chairs we used every day, the owner has thought of everything. The whole place is tastefully decorated and ideally located. We enjoyed walking around the bunk and being a quick drive to the beach. We have already booked again for next year and we can't wait to come back!
The home is very well kept with a big beautiful screened-in porch that is perfect for dining and napping. The owner warned us that the home might not be kid-friendly (we have three children under 5) but, to the contrary, it was ideal for our kids, and required very little effort to babyproof. It is a 1 minute walk to the cute Main Street in Kenebunck and less than a 10 minute walk to an adorable playground. It comes with a beach pass that includes access to Mother's beach which we found to be absolutely perfect for our young kids--beautiful yet much less crowded than other beaches making it easy for the kids to run and explore without leaving our line of sight. Also, it is an easy drive to Portsmouth, Portland and Ogunquit, each of which have a ton of non-beach activities for kids. As people who wanted a lot of non-beach day trips, this was a great base. Finally, the owner was very accommodating and friendly. It is clear that she takes pride in the home (as she should) and that it is important to her that her guests have a nice stay.
But for the fact that increased demand will make it harder for us to reserve next year, we would highly recommend booking this home.
My 2 sisters and I found this place perfect for our needs. Looked just like the pictures. Clean, very well maintained. Had everything we needed. One block to Main Street downtown Kennebunk, very cute little town. Very easy drive to Kennebunkport to the north and Wells to the south. The screened in porch was so nice. We spent all of our time there when we weren't out and about.
While we didn't have the opportunity to meet the owner, she got right back to us when we texted her with a few questions.
The Maine Diner in nearby Wells is an awesome restaurant. I definitely recommend the seafood chowder. Kennebunkport is a really nice little town. All the shop owners were friendly and helpful. The whale cruise and lobster cruise by First Chance were fun and we saw whales, seals and a few lobster. We went to Shakespeare in the Park in Kennebunk (free, but gratuities expected), which was fun. There was also a concert in the park one night which we listened to on the porch of the cottage.
Less than an hours drive to Portland or Freeport.
I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for the perfect place to stay in Kennebunk.
