Step into the Lower-Village lifestyle with this comfortable home, located within walking distance to the best of Montecito. Take the easy 3-block stroll down to the Pacific Ocean and enjoy a morning on Butterfly Beach, then finish with a breakfast on the veranda at the Four Seasons Biltmore Resort. Two blocks in the other direction from the home are the fabulous restaurants and retail shops of Coast Village Road.

The house is Mid-Century Modern architecture with a comfortable interior aesthetic. The home has a fresh open and upscale feel with updated Bathrooms, Bedrooms, Living Room furnishings and more! High ceilings, spacious rooms, and stylish furniture are the trademarks of this inviting property.

The Kitchen is bright and well-equipped for preparing meals effortlessly, with fully-stocked cookware. The traditional touch of Cararra marble and crisp white cabinetry is a unique compliment to the homes mid-century roots. The dining area is conveniently located within reach of the chef's creative hand, making service a dream and conversation friendly.

From the spacious Living Room, a wall of glass windows and sliding doors opens to the back patio. This fully enclosed space features an inviting spa and lush surroundings. Enjoy a great game of ping-pong, or dine al fresco on the teak dining table.

Whether inside or out, the Santa Ynez Mountain backdrop to this home offers incredible year round views of the sunsets glow reflected on the mountains.

The Media Room is a sunny space adjacent to the Living Room. A sofa sleeper here adds additional sleeping options for overflow guests. With French doors of clear paned glass, this room can also be closed off to offer alternate television viewing choices from the Living Room while still making it possible to keep tabs on activities there.

The bright Master Suite has a king-size bed, walk in closet, and faces the backyard. The attached Master Bathroom of Carrara marble and large glass shower feels luxurious and well suited for a vacationing couple to feel pampered.

The second Bedroom is near the laundry and is perfect for the kids or teens with two twin beds and a full Bathroom with large glass shower of white subway tile.

The third Bedroom with king-size bed faces the front of the house. The hallway Bathroom has the convenience of 2 sinks set in Carrara marble and a seated vanity. The fourth Bedroom in black and white also offers a king-size bed making this home perfect for 3 adult couples to each have their own luxurious accommodations.

Dining, relaxing, and entertainment are easy. 4 different flat screen TVs, 3 DVD players, and a CD player/stereo provide indoor entertainment. Stay connected with the Wireless Internet available throughout the property.

Everything has been well thought out. The owners have even provided bikes and beach recreation items for their guests' enjoyment making day trips and beach outings more fun for everyone…enjoy

We enjoyed the property very much.

It’s a very nice property and we were very comfortable. The only disappointment was the bedroom with 2 beds. Two not very nice/comfortable beds, could not even compare to the other bedrooms.

Lovely house but beware of the traffic noise!

Montecito Retreat is a really lovely house, very clean and well decorated and has clearly been recently upgraded with some thought. It is fully equipped with everything we needed, the only let down inside the house was the slightly old and dirty carpet in the main bedroom, apart from this, it was faultless. It was perfect for our family of 5, two adults and 3 children.

Our big issue was the noise from the highway. This is not made clear in the house description on the Paradise Retreats website and we feel it affected the quality of our holiday, made all the more galling considering the amount of money we paid.

Peace and quiet is something we cherish and we had no idea that the highway was so busy so consistently, virtually throughout the night! Even the noise machines provided weren't enough to drown it out and that was with earplugs; our sleep was affected and it left us feeling tired. In the evenings siting outside was a problem as the noise was so loud it became too intrusive to ignore.

Unfortunately I would not go back to this house and I would not recommend it as it simply falls down on the noise.

Here is the language from our agreement: "Proximity to Freeway: As with many coastal homes on the Central Coast, the home is located in proximity to the CA Hwy 101. There may be noise from freeway traffic associated with this property." Many of our guests love this property and enjoy it very much, so much that they return to it year after year. Nice property, would stay there again.

Very nice property, perfect layout, tasteful décor. Short walk to Montecito Village and Butterfly beach. Pictures are true as presented. Could invest in an espresso machine of some sort, even a stovetop one would be nice. They had a very basic Mr. Coffee coffee machine. Also no whisk anywhere. No baking supplies other than a cookie sheet. I would have expected the kitchen to be stocked better based on the look and design. It mattered to me because I like to cook. This property borders to the freeway, so there is some noise but not bad. We had a great time and would stay there again. Last note, there are no window coverings on the large kitchen window facing the street, would be nice for privacy and protection from the sun.

4 women spent a week in this lovely home....great privacy for each of us...great collecting space to entertain, terrific cooking with many extras and close to beach, shopping dining and coffee....we had a fabulous time.

ideal location

We were in California for a wedding and this home was EXACTLY what we needed and hoped for, the location was great - three minute bike ride to the beach with the available bikes, short walk to Jeanine's for wonderful breakfast pastries, exactly as described, can't wait to return :o)
