Guestbook comments from the manager

My visit to Philly was work related, but decided to try a houseboat instead of a local hotel. I highly recommend the Pisces for business, friends or family. I was more than comfortable and felt very safe.I had no worries utilizing public transit and learned a lot about Philly. I hope to come back again with my family. Kids would love it!

Amazing and conveniently located

  • 5 of 5

Amazing and conveniently located Easy access to all of downtown Philly. Safe parking spot. Not very big so only for couples or maybe a couple and one child. Don’t forget the Dramamine if you are prone to motion sickness. We loved it

Unique lodging overlooking the Benjamin Franklin Bridge!

  • 4 of 5

Really fun and unique lodging. Especially great if you have the time to hang out on the deck lounge chairs (which I unfortunately really didn't). Very friendly and helpful caretaker (Jack).

A few tweaks would be nice -- the linens are showing wear and could use replacing, the shower knob is hanging on by a thread, some bath soap would be nice, and I couldn't reach the living room overhead light chains (unless I just couldn't find the wall switch).

On the upside, in addition to the uniqueness, it was very nice to have a Keurig machine and coffee cups supplied, and we enjoyed watching some WNBA championship games, thanks to the cable TV. The weather was just stunning and I thoroughly enjoyed the very gentle rocking of the boat. The main bedroom mattress was very comfortable. The shower had plenty of warm water and a nice pressure. The toileting process requires attention to the caretaker's directions, but it IS a boat after all! It is well located for walking, the train, and Lyft/Uber pick-ups. I did not have a car and easily got around everywhere.

There was an EXTREMELY loud party in the marina on the Saturday night I was there, but it calmed down at about 10:30 pm.

The experience was fun. I recommend it highly if you're looking for something different.

This literally made our trip an experience!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time on a houseboat and we loved everything about it. The location in downtown Philadelphia was perfect and the accommodations were very comfortable. It rained one solid day during our stay but it was quite enjoyable to hang out at the Marina. I'm definitely going back and I can earnestly recommend it to anyone else.

Fun alternative for family stay

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time staying on Pisces! The marina was safe and clean. The boat had all we needed and was comfortably sized for our family of 5. During our downtime from sightseeing we didn't feel trapped in a hotel room as we have on other vacations. Location is convenient to Old Town with lots of restaurants and sights in walking distance. Loved that in-and-out access parking just 1/2 block away was included. They were accommodating of our 10:30 pm arrival time. I didn't consider realities of a toilet on a boat. Luckily the marina has pretty clean bathrooms available when needed. I would rent again. All in all a great stay.

A unique experience.

  • 4 of 5

A fun place to stay - if you get "sea-sick" easily you may not like it. I wore a scopalamine patch and was fine. Very nice space. Very comfy bed. Within 1/2 mile easy walk to shops and the historic sites of Phily. Good parking. Terrific care-keeper. Directions are a bit fuzzy, but call the contact and you'll make it. We didn't spend lots of time on the boat...it was mostly for evening and sleep. It is a little like camp - the best showers are in a room next to the boat - but they were great. All in all, we had fun.
