21/8/2010 – 28/8/2010 New Jersey, USA We have travelled to many islands and have stayed at some of the finest resorts. Our Stay here at Villa Zara has been exceptional. We fell in love with the island itself because of the wonderful people, the incredible beauty of the island, and the amazing food. The Villa itself exceeded all of our expectations, and Yvonne and Phil made our stay seamless. We vow to return and make this our annual family vacation destination.
Thanks for everything!!

Villa Zara provided a fantastic place to rest our heads and rejuvenate for another day. Our days were spent snorkeling, sailing, kayaking, jet-skiing and eating. We traversed the island from Rum Point to the East End and ventured to Smith’s Cove and Eden Rock and Cemetary Beach for fabulous snorkeling. Eden Rock provided a great reef with Tarpons, Angel Fish, Turtles and many more sights. Right in front of our house if you go into the water at the Public Beach and drift towards Rum Point Turtles and Barracudas await. The Restaurants on the island never disappoint. The Lighthouse, the Italian Kitchen, Over the Edge and Sunset House are wonderful spots to eat if you don’t feel like using the lovely, spacious and well stocked kitchen at Villa Zara. Grand Cayman is a welcoming island with fantastic people. Yvonne and Phil at Villa Zara are gracious and full of wonderful advice for getting around the island. Yvonne made my family feel as if we were right at home with treats of cupcakes and an Easter basket! These two are top-notch for taking care of Villa guests. The grounds and pool are stunning and provide many outlets for fun in the pool or on the beach. We are looking forward to another Grand Cayman holiday because of the charm of this place!
Thank you Yvonne!

Fantastic spring break. Villa Zara is a gem on the ocean. The house was beautiful and manicured landscape make it very hard to leave the property. Phil and Yvonne are wonderful hosts always present when needed.
Location and proximity to Rum Point made it ideal for quick trips and excursions. Can’t wait to come back.
The moment we saw Villa Zara on the Cayman Villas website we knew the house would be absolutely perfect as our wedding location. When we scheduled an appointment to see it with Yvonne our thoughts were confirmed. Yvonne gave us a tour of the beautiful mansion and was incredibly helpful with ideas on how to work the logistics of having the perfect wedding here!!
When we arrived for our five days at the Villa we were so excited to vacation there as well as hold our wedding there. Yvonne and Phil kept everything in ship-shape and proved to be most valuable assets on our wedding day making the Villa even more beautiful and helping accommodate all our needs. Everyone at our wedding was absolutely stunned at the beauty of the Villa and how put together everything was.
Our guests danced the night away and enjoyed the beach and the amazing pool and Jacuzzi. The area is very private and was perfect for relaxing before and after the stress and fun of our wedding! The pool had so many pool floaties and all kinds of amenities that we used. I cooked in the kitchen everyday. And it is so close to one of our favourite restaurants “Over the Edge” for when we didn’t want to cook.
We are leaving the Villa to go back to our apartment on the other side of the Island and guests back to their homes around the world with lovely memories!
We cant thank Yvonne and Phil enough and the owners of Villa Zara for letting us have a super special wedding and vacation!
Best, Lauren and Jyoti
A massive thank you for helping our wedding day go off perfectly. The stunning house and gorgeous location set the scene for an event we will never forget.
As a holiday rental the house was equipped with every little thing one could want. Snorkeling gear, great internet, kayak, beach toys, wine fridge – really the works!
Staff were super accommodating and helpful and made our stay even more enjoyable.
Big thanks, Jyoti (Groom)

I booked Villa Zara to surprise my boyfriend on his 40th Birthday. As we drove into the driveway we were greeted with a beautiful and luxurious entrance. Yvonne and Phil were waiting our arrival and showed us around the Villa. The Villa had everything you could ever need. We spend most days outside but the real treat for us NYers was the incredible kitchen. We enjoyed making a few breakfasts and dinners while we were here.
Villa Zara is the most beautiful Villa along a scenic private beach. I would love to come back when the Island is less windy.
Yvonne and Phil were always close by if we needed them. Yvonne even made cupcakes for Scott’s 40th birthday!
Thanks Grand Cayman and Villa Zara for an incredible birthday getaway from NYC blizzard conditions.

We had a tough stretch of work and were looking for a complete getaway. Villa Zara on Grand Cayman was just the place. The house was truly magnificent and it’s situated in a part of the island that’s far away from the crowded touristy areas. We had complete seclusion, our own beach, our own large pool and an oversized Jacuzzi. The house is amazing: marble everywhere, a gourmet kitchen, a veranda from each bedroom that overlooks the sea, over the top furniture and bathroom fixtures, and all the toys you might want to use in the pool or the beach! We suggest the two seat kayak, we took it out several times and had the ocean completely to ourselves. We never saw another person.
There are top-end restaurants within a short drive as well as some great places to relax for an afternoon drink and enjoy excellent local lunch food. On top of all this, our villa came with two caretakers, a really nice couple who live on the property, one of the very few villas on Cayman with this luxury. Phil maintains the grounds impeccably, while Yvonne takes care of the inside of the house and also provides first hand knowledge of things to do and places to go on the island. They even turn the lights on for us when we were out late so we wouldn’t come home to a dark house.
If you want to go to the other side of the island to look around, it takes about 45 minutes. We used wazes and it navigated us perfectly. Given all this we definitely would love to come back and take others. It was tough leaving.

P.S. we have rented many villas in Europe and the Caribbean, this one is about the nicest. Central A/C is not common and it had a very well heated pool and Jacuzzi. And having a completely private beach was quite special both during the day and at night.

We brought five of our children to Villa Zara for vacation and I must say our time here was simply delightful. The refined elegance of the residence was such a refreshing contrast to the salt, sand and wind of the beach. Snorkeling along the reef out back or floating in the sandy “mermaid pools” off the private beach of white sand, one ascends to the infinity pool for a cleansing dip and poolside lounging with excellent wi-fi.
Then, it is in to the superbly appointed and supplied gourmet kitchen with its endless spices and accoutrements available for preparing delectable creations of gastronomic delights!
The villa has multiple nooks where individuals can escape to the privacy of a reading place, like on the second floor veranda, or they can gather for games and watch an Apple TV movie in the study.
The formal British feel of the home is highlighted by elegant drapery window dressings, shiny marble floors, so cool and clean, and dark antique furniture. Dinner at the dining table takes on a special event feeling and elevates the experience in family conversation, laughter and memories made to last.
The solid, high quality construction of Villa Zara is remarkable because of the quiet serenity it affords. One hears nothing from the outside, nor from adjacent rooms when the doors are closed. This is not a California style beach home. It is a high style, refined colonial residence, elegant, restrained and beautiful, a total separate retreat from the elements of nature, and yet a perfect portal to that endless summer on the beach.

The entire island is only 22 miles wide from west to east; so you are never too far from anywhere on Grand Cayman. The homes on the oceanfront in Rum Point offer great reef protected snorkeling. The beaches usually have plenty of white sand, but also can have spots of rocky “ironshore” with natural rock formations. The closer you get to Rum Point, usually the sandier the beach as well as swimming. Either way, with the abundant marine life we have in the water, you will want to wear foot protection (pool shoes or fins). The prevailing breeze (trade winds) from the east also make flying insects less of a nuisance—many of the homes in Rum Point don’t even need a screened porch. The big draw to this area is the proximity to the “Rum Point Club”; a public beach club that offers a fantastic barefoot beach…many watersports, a restaurant, bar, grill, gift shop and pick-up beach volleyball games. (www.rumpointclub.com ) It is from the Rum Point pier that the www.redsailcayman.com 65’ catamaran departs to stingray sandbar for snorkeling trips. Also near Rum Point is the Kaibo Yacht Club restaurant, bar and marina (www.kaibo.ky) Click map on our home page. Lastly…we have (2) large resorts in the east end (www.morritts.com and www.thereef.com ) that offer manicured beaches as well as restaurants, a modern grocery store, liquor store, gift shops, SUBWAY sandwich shop (and even a coffee/pastry shop). These two resorts also offer scuba, snorkel trips, jet skis, windsurfers, kiteboarding, ocean front pools and bar service. www.tortugadivers.com and www.whitesandwatersports.com offer snorkeling tours, paddle boards, jet skis, etc.
