Why Michael Mackniak chose Rhode Island Coastal

We fell in love with Bristol on our first visit to the area. The town reminds us of a 'mini Newport' with its wharf, restaurants and shopping. It is a close knit community and many families have lived here for generations.

The proximity to the fine cuisine of Providence and the sights attractions of Newport make this an ideal place for our family.

There are plenty of places to explore including the famous Newport/Middletown beaches and some hidden gems that are off the beaten path.

Nearby Seakonk Mass. has every type of shopping and entertainment you could ask for including the Speedway. Battle Ship Cove is visible from our back Porch.

Gorgeous spot for a getaway

  • 5 of 5

We were delighted to find Mike's cottage during a week we needed to be in town for a big family reunion/70th birthday/50th anniversary. We are originally from the area, and would normally stay with family but in this case needed a "space away" due to the number of people in town. The cottage is in an amazing location with direct access to the water and stunning views. The back deck and three season room face east so are hot in the morning but after noon they are perfect places to relax and enjoy meals. The house is truly intended for a small family like ours, with large sitting areas for relaxing and taking in the location--but small sleeping areas, one full bathroom, and almost no interior eating area (which we didn't need because the weather was gorgeous). The basement area is for young people--and is a great space. Trap door from the main living area is not for the physically impaired or the height-fearing crowd, although access is granted from the outdoors through a basement workshop as well. The cottage was clean as a whistle--just beautiful--tastefully appointed and beachy casual but polished, this is NOT a shack. Kitchen was perfectly fine--we mostly ate takeout when we were there and did very little cooking, but the basics are in place for simple cooking. Mike was responsive, friendly and interested in making sure we had a great stay. Neighbors were fun and friendly and it was a quiet week in the 'hood. I sense it is mostly residents, not renters. While the house is small, the outdoor area was perfect for our teens to have their teen cousins over during the day to spend time in the water and share pizza on the deck without anyone needing to come in to the house (you can access the deck from the lawn without going through the house, although you can do that too.) Frankly, we barely spent any time in the house--as we were mostly on the deck, in the yard, and on the water. We will be back!

Adorable house and beautiful spot!

  • 5 of 5

We spent the weekend in this adorable house while celebrating my daughter's graduation from Roger Williams University. The house is lovely and clean and very well stocked with simple and thoughtful necessities. The Florida Room is wonderful as is the deck with beautiful bay views. The basement space is an added bonus (although access down the hatch is not for the faint-of-heart). The complimentary, local wine was a nice touch and although we didn't use it, the extra bottles available to purchase was a great idea. Neighbors are very nice on both sides. Highly recommend! This was so much nicer than a hotel room!

Excellent

  • 5 of 5

Quaint, beautiful, relaxing, peaceful, are just a few words to describe this ocean front cottage. This house was equipped with everything we need. The neighbors on each side were very friendly and the neighborhood is quiet. We especially enjoyed the breathtaking sunrise and the twinkling of a billion lights at night. The full moon and the unexpected fire works across the bay was the icing on the cake during my wedding weekend. We will definitely come again.
