In the Historic Seaport area of Old Town, there is a house that is very attractive from the street, beautifully maintained with carefully tended landscaping. However, nothing will prepare you for what is inside. As you walk in, you will feel an immediate sense of peace and relaxation. All of the spaces in this meticulously designed home are well defined; yet seem to flow seamlessly into each other, with doorways and openings that give this home a feeling of being much larger than it is.
**This home is available for lease by the month, in accordance with local ordinances strictly enforced by the City of Key West. The minimum lease is for 27 nights in February and for 29 nights during any other period.
THE LIVING AREA...
To your right is the kitchen, with its modern appliances set in natural wood cabinets. To your left is the dining area and living room. But the thing that will take your breath away is the pool and waterfall that seem to be right in front of you. Whether you are looking for 'the path to enlightenment', or just looking for a relaxing stay in America's Paradise, you will know that you have come to a very special home.
THE COURTYARD & POOL...
As you enter the courtyard, the burbling waterfall is a soothing backdrop to this little piece of heaven. A shady porch makes the idea of outdoor dining seem irresistible. There are steps to enter the pool for a relaxing cool-off, and you can readily find sun or shade to your preference. The nearby dipping pool overlooks the immaculate courtyard and will accommodate six persons. As you spend some time here, you begin to realize that every part of this courtyard has been painstakingly designed to make the most of the environment. After that, you’ll just relax and enjoy this peaceful environment that someone else has worked very hard to achieve. (Backyard yoga classes are optional).
The master suite is on the main floor with French doors that open to the courtyard. The king bed is draped with sheers. The master bathroom has everything you could want: a custom glass shower, a separate bathtub and twin vanities. There is even a French door that leads directly to the pool & courtyard. The second bedroom is also on the main floor on the other side of the house. The two twin beds can be converted to a king. The bathroom has the same loving attention to detail, with artistic touches visible everywhere you look. Once again, a French door allows direct access from the pool area. The third and fourth bedrooms are on the second floor, with a shared bathroom between them. Each has a queen bed. There is a built-in settee in one room, a desk in the other. Each has been beautifully and carefully detailed.

Heavenly Zen was the perfect vacation home for our family of eight, including an 11-year old and a toddler. The common areas are spacious and thoughtfully designed. The bedrooms each provide privacy and comfort. We cooked about 1/3 of our meals in, and found the kitchen well-equipped and functional. The interior design, including artwork, is restful and very pleasing. However, the highlight of the house is the porch, patio and pool area. Even though the house is in a busy neighborhood, this area is quiet, peaceful and very enjoyable. With the waterfall on, you could be in a rainforest on a small tropical island.
The location is perfect; you can walk to almost anywhere you would want to go. There is a terrific bakery right next door; and Bien across the street has the best sandwiches and quick, Caribbean lunches and suppers. Azur, one of the finest restaurants in Key West is at the end of the block.
For those who worry about the many things that might go wrong, forget your worries. Shel is always a phone call away to deal with any small issue that may come up. He’s been on Key West for 40 years so is also able to make thoughtful recommendation about restaurants, beaches, shopping, and tourist sites. He helped us manage delivery of several Christmas presents, and even offered to mail a letter when I didn’t have a stamp. I can’t say enough about the service that went with this beautiful house.

I just spent the month of June in Heavenly Zen and thoroughly loved it.
The property was beautiful. Great Pool. Amazing Kitchen. What is nice about the place is that my wife and I stayed on one side of the house, and our house guests had the other wing with their own entrance. So, a fabulous layout.
In addition the service was great. Shel is the manager and was a huge help on several fronts.
The property also provided a yard person and pool cleaner weekly, and had someone come by to move the trash cans in and out on trash day. (This is a big deal as I have stayed in other houses where the renter was responsible and I totally forgot which day was trash day...thus missing it)

We love this house. The location is perfect. We walk or bike everywhere. Our favorite restaurant Azur is literally at the end of the block. The house is beautifully maintained and Shel Segal always works his magic if we need anything at all. We would recommend it heartily.

From the brick courtyard , to the open gathering spaces, to the private bedroom suites, this home accommodates large and small groups most comfortably.
Heavenly Zen was our home for a month in early 2016. We entertained family and friends throughout that time and were extremely pleased with how the home's layout made our guests feel very comfortable.
Another delight about Heavenly Zen is its picturesque " outside garden "..It offered a beautiful setting for relaxing as well as entertaining.
Shel Segal, our property manager, met us the day we arrived and graciously offered his services for anything we might need during our stay. We especially enjoyed his list of great restaurants and places of interests.....which proved to be our ""go to" source for delicious meals and fun activities.
