We love to travel and seek out destinations off the beaten track with lots of opportunities to surf. It has become a vacation pastime and we find that our best memories are when we are in and around the ocean. We discovered Nicaragua in our travels and decided it was the perfect place to build our dream home.
Keala purchased this villa in 2014
We built this home as a place for us, our family and our friends to be able to enjoy each other, relax, and have some fun. We named the house after our three teen age sons with the intention that they would always have a place to come as brothers, and have a place to enjoy with their own families over time.
This house was designed and built to center around open air, ocean views, and lots of cool and fun spaces to relax and entertain. We especially love the swim up pool bar, roof top bar with pool table and hammocks, and the built in surf board storage with lots of out door showers!
Casa Tres Hermanos is such a comfortable and delightful place to be. The house's design integrates indoor and outdoor spaces in a way that fit so well with the climate and the flow of daily life.
This well-appointed and very well cared-for property is much more than a place to stay -- the owners have equipped it to be a home for any length of stay, stocked and ready with everything we needed -- well-equipped kitchen (there wasn't a single utensil or or other kitchen thing we wanted for), no-hassle wi-fi, satellite TV and dozens of DVDs for the large-screen, etc.
A pool is pretty much a requirement there, and Casa Tres Hermanos has one that's just right -- including an integrated bar at the water's surface -- a neat feature.
We feel lucky to have stayed at this particular home for our stay on Rancho Santana and in Nicaragua. We'll be back for the sun, the surfing, the very friendly people, and the comfort of home away from home.
We highly recommend Casa Tres Hermanos and Rancho Santana!
We had such an incredible time at Casa Tres Hermanos and Rancho Santana. We loved having access to the hotel amenities at Rancho Santana when we wanted them, while enjoying the seclusion and privacy of a personal house. This was perfect balance of comfort, privacy, and activities.
We were 3 couples from San Francisco (in our 30's). The house has a perfect layout for a small group. The view / pool / deck were prefect for lazy mornings and afternoon siestas.
We also had the staff at Rancho Santana come cook for us a couple meals at the hour, which were fantastic. But we found that having to schedule the meals a couple days in advance made it tough as we were never sure what we were going to be doing or where we were going to be. Therefore, we discovered that, while the meals were great, we enjoyed having our flexibility to eat when and where we wanted. The food at the clubhouse is incredible and very reasonable (ie $7 for huevos rancheros, $25 for surf and turf!) so it made it easier to be flexible and know you can have an incredible meal when you want it rather than book in advance and have to be home at a certain time.
We also booked a fishing boat through the hotel. We highly recommend this. We did a half day for around $380 total for 6 ppl. We caught 8 fish and then they dropped the guys at a break to surf for one hour while the girls fished more. It was such a great trip and we highly recommend it.
Our group is already planning our next years trip to Casa Tres Harmanos!
We had a great time at Tres Hermanos. The house is amazing with pool, hot tub and a great view. I went surfing every day at beaches close by. The waves were great and it was nice to come back to such a comfortable place after surfing all day. The master bedroom is super comfortable with AC and a great bed! The house has everything you need - wifi, 3 outdoor showers and a great outdoor grill. We enjoyed the wildlife we saw all around us, beautiful birds and howler monkeys in the trees nearby. The people who work at Rancho Santana are very friendly and helpful. We're already planning our next trip to Tres Hermanos!
We stayed at Casa Tres Hermanos for a little over a week and it was amazing! What I really love about the house is that it's half indoors and half outdoors. So when you walk in the front door, you're actually still outside. But all the bedrooms are indoors - love it!! It's also positioned on top a hill and has an awesome view of the beach - the toughest question you'll ask yourself is: do I watch the sunset set while lying in a hammock or while soaking in the hot tub? Tough life, huh? And the living room is awesome because you can have the sliding glass window/door shut and be indoors or you can open it all the way open and have the living room seem like an extension of the pool area. And of course you can't forget about the swim-up bar!!! Talk about luxury:)) We were 8 people and it never seemed crowded. I think because there is so much common/shared space including the living room, kitchen, pool area and upstairs area with hammocks and pool table.
The property was also incredible - you can basically live on the property (and many people do!). We had a rental car and went explored the various beaches on the property. Playa Escondida was my favorite (which was the closest to the house and somewhat walking distance). There's also the Clubhouse - there's an indoor/outdoor restaurant, community pool, outside bar that attends to poolside service and several outdoor games (like bocce ball). The Clubhouse staff (locals) are the absolute best!! We made friends with them quickly and they were treating us like rockstars! I think because Nicaragua is a relatively new tourist destination the locals are really excited about having people like their country and so they are very welcoming.
Overall, I would highly recommend this house and would definitely stay there again!
Gorgeous property with amazing views of paradise. Spacious and modern 3 bedroom villa, set up for indoor/outdoor living. I enjoyed one week at this property and wish I could have stayed longer! Peaceful, relaxing and close to beautiful private beaches and outdoor activities such as surfing, horseback riding and hiking. Highly recommend this property for anyone looking for R&R in a beautiful part of the world.
Your eyes will dance on the boundless ocean views, your ears will appreciate the quite tranquility (except for the beautiful call of a bird or monkey every now and then) and your heart will fall in love with Nicaraguan people.
• The home is beautiful and very comfortable.
• The kitchen, BBQ and dinning table can entertain friends and family
• The house has ecologically sound details (each shower has individual hot water units that need to be clicked on and go off after a set duration of time in bathrooms) be sure to ask instructions.
• There is also an impressive gym/training center with all the equipment you need for any workout routine. There is even a boxing gym and basketball courts. This was a big highlight for me.
• Also, don't miss the amazing massages in your own beach bungalow overlooking the ocean.
The things to consider: the roads are hilly and you will be more comfortable with an SUV type of vehicle and the driver should be comfortable driving dirt roads (sometimes with interesting obstacles when you leave the compound, i.e. large pigs, horses, cattle and even a python)...so keep your eyes peeled. The other point that is worth noting is that the Rancho Santana property really caters to families and couples. If your looking for adventure, the house is a good home base but venture out to surrounding towns and neighboring beaches to surf.
This is the perfect getaway for those that want to be secluded and make meals at home or want to lounge at the Clubhouse sitting down to brunch, laying poolside or playing bocce ball.
Looking at many other houses around the property, I couldn't help but feel some pleasure in that our house was architecturally more beautiful and the design was much more considered. You will be smiling as soon as you walk through the door! Enjoy.
