Welcome to Kyoto!
My private apartment is superbly located in the center of Kyoto and very convenient for sightseeing. It is 6 minutes on foot to two train stations, Omiya (Hankyu Line) and Shijo Omiya station. It is only 3-4 minutes by train from Omiya to Kawaramachi where you can walk to Gion & Higashiyama area to see old Kyoto. Arashiyama, historical western district of Kyoto, is easy access by Kyoto Keifuku Tram Line, 6 minutes on foot. There are many must visit places in Kyoto but Arashiyama is my favorite place. I personally recommend spending a good full day there. For example, World Heritage listed Tenryuji temple has a really lovely Japanese garden and an amazing dragon painting. The famous bamboo forest and Okochi Sanso Villa with tea tasting experience cannot also be missed. There are a plenty of little cafe, shops and restaurants and you may find your own hidden places. If you prefer to travel by bike, there is a rental cycle nearby with good value. The train also directly goes to the center of Osaka (Umeda station). If you come from Kyoto station, it takes only 3 minutes by JR Line to Tanbaguchi then walk about 11 minutes to check in.
Near my apartment, there are also frequent buses available and they are going to the most of popular places in Kyoto. Both Nijo Castle (World Heritage listed) and Nishiki food market are also in the same area.
The place is approximately 22 square meters, and has almost everything you need, such as small kitchenette with cookware, plates, bowls and cups, kettle, microwave-oven, fridge and hair dryer. Two persons sleep on the folding beds with futon so ideal for two persons. The apartment may accommodate the third person who sleeps on the floor with futon. Linen and towels are also provided.
Portable Wifi is available.
The washing machine is for exclusive use.
The room is sunny, neighbourhood is very quiet and safe, so you will have a peaceful time when you do not go out for sightseeing but the location should keeps you busy outside.
There is a variety of restaurants near train stations. There are supermarket, 7/11s, grocery shops and liquor shops within walking distance.
I'm happy to offer you a weekly rate when you stay 7 nights or more.
Hope you have comfortable stay at my apartment!
House Rules: Please do not smoke inside the apartment building.
Please take off your shoes before entering the room.
This was a great, easy to locate apartment! My husband and I stayed for 3 nights, it's just the right size for us two. Very clean and quite, close to train station and I believe only a few stops the main Kyoto station.
We would highly recommend this apartment to anyone wanting to explore Kyoto.
It was a great experience to stay in real Japanese house. It's small, one room apartment, but we had all we needed for our stay. Especially having the washing machine is very convenient when you're on longer trip. You can find around good and cheap ramen's bars, shops and drink bar. It's close to the metro station and bus stops of several buses.
Overall great experience!
We had a great time in this apartment, the flat is in a great location for exploring central and northern Kyoto. Two local lines make travel easy and we found some great places to eat, the apartment itself is older and I will share that the fumes from the sink drain were not pleasant so we kept the drain cover in place. There was a little hair and dust balls on the floor when we arrived, but this was minimal and Hana was very responsive. Most important to us, the beds were very comfortable, the neighborhood was peaceful and location was great! What more can you ask for the $70.00? Thank you Hana, we would stay again.
great location, close to station. The apartment was clean, perfect for me as a solo traveler. It was a beautiful neighborhood,an enjoyable walk to the station. Wi-fi excellent...highly recommend
The apartment is too small for a couple. Maybe it is normal in Japan, but for the prize you can go to a hotel where the facilities are better. We decided to rent an apartment because we were having a long trip in Japan and we were tired of hotels, we wanted to have dinner at home, spend some time at home... But this apartment is only for sleeping (even it has a kitchen is too small and there is no TV,... space is limited by the mobile beds - not very comfortable,..).
The cleanliness is worse than a hotel. For example, when we arrive there was a smell like onions..., maybe it is due to previous guests. Also there was no lamp in the toilet. We ask for it to the host and next day was fixed.
Location is not the best one, because in is in central Kyoto but in the opposite direction of pontocho, gion,... and these were the place we wanted to stay at night. There is a bus but last trip finnish very early.
Finnally, you cannot ask anyone for places to have lunch, dinner, transportation,.. And you have this available in a hotel.
For all these reasons, I think that it is better that you go to a hotel.
Simply outstanding value, excellent location, and ample room for two people, even though I was by myself.
The only thing I might suggest is a better mobile wifi device as the unit that was provided by the host had a very low battery life and therefore needed to be recharged every two hours or so.
I will go back to this city and rent again from this host, 5 days was not enough!!!
