How can I describe the peaceful feeling of sitting on the screened porch at night and listening to the crickets sing while you enjoy a campfire by the lake. Peaceful and Restful.
We enjoyed our stay at the Stokes cabin and it was really great to bring our cat and dog along! My husband enjoyed fishing every day.
This property has great potential. The directions provided were easy to follow.
We had so much fun and we can't wait to go back! The cabin is maintained well and very user-friendly. We swam, fished, paddled, barbecued, baked, watched football, swang, rocked, danced, and sang during our stay. And our dogs did it all with us. There is a clear path that leads around the lake and we hope to return in the cooler months for hiking and bonfires and more fishing. We caught 4 bass during our stay! We would have caught more, I'm sure, but we only fished during the cooler hours of the day. The screened-in porch is one of the best porches I have ever had the pleasure to enjoy. It's huge and has plenty of rockers and swings and fans to keep the air moving. The cabin even has it's own grilling deck right next to the kitchen. In addition to all of these wonderful things, the owner was very helpful and addressed all of my needs. We can't wait to do it again!
My husband were searching for a quiet place to get away from the fray for our 28 th anniversary. Since our business keeps us from relaxing and fishing we chose this location, in the middle of nowhere, where we could bring our two old dogs, read, fish and relax. Besides having to run into town to find Internet to sign a document, we did just that. The porch was lovely to rock and read. The lake actually had some Bass. The dogs loved the setting. Everything would have been perfect if the house had been clean and the property maintained. We found the house to be extremely dirty and decided to pack up and head home early. We had a hard time grilling because none of the lights on that side worked and the oven was so dirty we hesitated using it. It was a shame since this place has so much potential.
University of Alabama campus is 45 minutes away. Tuscaloosa: Bear Bryant Museum. Historical Columbus, Mississippi is 30 minutes away and has beautiful historical homes to tour. Fun family water park in Fayette, AL.
