Soldotna Cabin Rental Photos and Description

3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, full kitchen , sleeps up to 9.

COME STAY at our upscale riverfront cabin which is conveniently located on the middle section of the famous Kenai River.

Whether you're looking for some serious outdoor activities, like salmon and trophy rainbow fishing, or just a place to kick back and enjoy magnificent scenery and wildlife, our Kenai River rental cabin is the perfect base camp for your Alaskan vacation.

When your day of fishing or sightseeing is over, sit back and watch the river go by, join your friends in telling fish stories around the firepit, or enjoy a barbequed fresh salmon fillet on the cabin's grill. It just doesn't get any better than this!

Our fishing oriented cabin is centrally located near Sterling, Alaska, on the Kenai Peninsula which is a short (2.2 hour) drive from Anchorage along beautiful Cook Inlet and through scenic mountains to the heart of Kenai Peninsula's outdoor attractions.

When making reservations, let us know your fishing interests. In addition to our private shoreline fishing, we'll be happy to arrange fishing guide services for you either on the river or on the nearby salt water. We can also arrange fly out fishing day trips to remote rivers and lakes.

Although famous for it's giant king salmon, the Kenai River is also the home of sockeye or red salmon, silver salmon, pink salmon, dolly varden and trophy rainbow trout in excess of 30 inches.

We are fortunate in having available for day trips the only Federation of Fly Fishers certified fly fishing instructors on the Kenai River who act as guides for those of our guests who wish to utilize their expertise.

Being located in the approximate middle of the Kenai Peninsula; easy day trips for sightseeing, whale viewing or birdwatching can be made to Kachimak Bay, Homer, Seward, Kenai or elsewhere.

As we are only about 20 miles from saltwater, halibut fishing charters are also easily arranged. The below is a listing of some of the many activities that can be enjoyed while staying at our cabin with, of course, particular emphasis on everyone's favorite past-time… FISHING!

Guided or unguided salmon fishing

Guided or unguided rainbow trout and dolly varden fishing

Guided halibut fishing

Whale and Marine mammal viewing

Not only was the cabin wonderful, very clean, stocked with everything you could possibly need....the owner was onsite during our stay and provided the most amazing bookings for fishing adventures, gave us onsite lessons for fishing the river which is just steps from the cabin, and made sure we had all we needed to attempt to catch the "BIG ONE". The owner's family was a delight to be with and we look forward to being in Alaska again.

Kenai Cabins

  • 5 of 5

Location, location, location. Few things beat the Kenai Peninsula in summer affectionately know as Alaska's playground. These cabins are in Sterling which is centrally located on the Peninsula, just 20 minutes to Soldotna, about 1 1/2 hrs to Homer or Seward for ocean fishing, wildlife cruises & great sights along the way. All the cabins are excellently maintained, each offering their unique charm. We have stayed may times

over the past 10 years or so enjoying every visit more each time. To me Alaska is a friendly place and the hosts at Kenai River Cabins at Sterling are some of the best by far.

Exceptional value, great views and fishing is outstanding. You will enjoy your stay.

ana's retreat cabin

  • 5 of 5

Five of us stayed here during the sockeye season. The cabin was first rate, fully furnished with individual beds for everyone and two complete bathrooms. Richard and Ana were great hosts and very accomodating. The fishing was great and Richard helped to give us correct techniques to use and which spots were the best ones. It was bank fishing so you did not have to get in the water nor did you have to fish from a platform. There was a cleaning station at the river so you could take care of your fish on the spot. They had a freezer for our use and even bought another because we caught so many fish. These are good people and hopefully we will get to enjoy them again in the future.
