Quaint, quiet, and perfect

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay here. There was plenty of room for 7 of us. The house has a perfect mixture of the original structure with high quality modern fixtures and furnishings. The neighborhood is nice, clean and quiet and the house was very clean. If we are ever back in this area we will definitely try to book this property again.

The only problem I had had nothing to do with the house itself. The neighborhood was obviously built before there was traffic so the "streets" are just narrow paths snaking around the houses. It's not a big deal unless you are driving a very large extended conversion van like we were. We got in and out several times without incident but it took surgical precision every time!

Owner's Response: Hi David, Thanks for that nice review. We pride ourselves in having clean modern cottages but contain that "special" Mt. Gretna" Charm. You are correct. Mt. Gretna has a history that dates back to 1892 before automobiles were used for transportation. Back then you got dropped off at the Mt. Gretna train station and walked to the park and cottages. Now we have narrow winding streets with big tall pines and only the odd streets are drivable. However that is what makes Mt. Gretna special; close neighbors, winding walking/driving streets and old tall pines. Every season we have folks who decide to ignore the "Pedestrian Only" signs and end up trapped on a walkway because they were following their GPS. I've backed up many a car getting them out. Many cottages here do not even have parking because they are on non-drivable streets. Having parking for 4 cars at "One Fine Landing" is a luxury here in Mt. Gretna. When we were renovating "One Fine Landing" we contracted to have the cottage insulated with the new foam insulation. I have pictures of a large truck and a 48' trailer parked behind the cottage. Many bets were placed on how he was going to get it turned around and out of Campmeeting. He was a pro because he made it out easily and without a scratch. Again thanks for that nice review and have a great summer. Bob & Tammy

A five star plus rental

  • 5 of 5

Our group of 8 enjoyed a very comfortable week at One Fine Landing which had a vintage decor and all the updated amenities one could want. A fantastic home.

The Mt.Gretna area was very scenic with allot of history. And a good center for all our daily trips.

We would enjoy a return visit.

Beautiful Cabin.

  • 5 of 5

This is a wonderful cabin to spend some quality time away from daily life. Place is as described and very hospitable. Unfortunately we were there for a wedding nearby so didn't really get to enjoy all the perks came with this place. Will keep this place in mind for future. Highly recommend.

Owner's Response: Thanks for that nice review of our cottage "One Fine Landing." Hopefully you can return in the summer when all the activities are open for you to enjoy. We're excited about upcoming new events playing at the Mt. Gretna Campmeeting Tabernacle like "Larry McKenna's New Voices Cabaret" from Philadelphia, and local talent for the "Heritage Festival." Have a great summer and hopefully we'll be able to meet you when you return. Bob & Tammy

Great place in Mt. Gretna!

  • 5 of 5

This property was the perfect place to gather our family for a surprise weekend for my husband's 60th birthday. There were plenty of bedrooms for all 9 of us, and the place was very clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. Bob & Tammy couldn't have been any more helpful - they even gave a little hand in pulling off the surprise by helping me find a hiding place for some of my stuff. :) Thanks so much, Bob & Tammy, for helping make our Mt. Gretna weekend one to remember!

One Fine Landing is One Fine Place!

  • 5 of 5

Warm and cozy as well as clean and spacious, this house has everything to make a family vacation or getaway perfect. Nestled in a unique community and lovingly restored, it offers 3 beautiful bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen, fabulous porches, large bedrooms and, most of all, the opportunity to walk, sit, talk and reconnect. Just the right balance of modern and antique here to make you feel as if you have been somewhere magical. Owners are a dream to communicate with and we could not have been more pleased. Thank you!

Owner's Response: Thank you for that nice review. We're glad you had such a good time for your family get together. I had to laugh when I saw the two hammock sleeping tents strung between the two huge pines off the porch. Having slept in those hammocks a few times in the past, I think my back would tell me now to stick with the pillow top mattresses in the cottage. Again thanks for staying with us and have a great fall season. Bob & Tammy
