Quiet location

  • 3 of 5

This house is located in a great neighborhood area on lower Queen Anne. If you enjoy walking, you can get to most of downtown Seattle's tourist stops without difficulty.

There are a few things about the house that could be a bit clearer in the description. The listing states 3 bathrooms, but it is actually 2.5 baths. We were 7 adults, expecting 3 showers. During our stay, which was a holiday weekend, one of the showers did not work at all, which left 7 of us sharing one shower. Not ideal, and the owner did try to contact someone to fix it, but due to the holiday weekend, no luck.

Also, the listing says "sleeps 7" which it did with an extra twin size mattress put on the floor, but the property is really set up for 6. This house is definitely better suited for a family with kids than for 6+ adults.

The amenities were fine, but not quite as "upscale" as the listing describes. The neighborhood felt quiet, safe, and walkable to downtown. A nice alternative if you want to be close enough to walk to town, but a bit removed from the congestion.

The owner was timely in his correspondence and allowed us flexibility with check-in and check-out, which was greatly appreciated.

location, location, location

Would we stay there again? Absolutely! The location is fantastic just above the crummy part of lower Queen Anne and just below the ritzy part where the hills get pretty steep for walking. I had just gotten out of a cast so I was not walking all that much but it was no problem getting to Seattle Center, a great market and plenty of restaurants. A park two blocks over and up the hill a couple of blocks afforded a view that amazed.

Giuseppe was delightful and helpful as much as he could be far away.

The home was very comfortable with good gathering space--we had 10 for dinner one night--no sweat. The kitchen had plenty of equipment--not much of a blender, which was fine, but NO SARAN WRAP OR FOIL, which was kind of maddening, because for two nights we didn't think to buy or bring any and I can't believe a previous guest did not leave any, but there were a lot of empty drawers. For the price, I think this should have been provided. Especially since we had to pay the minimum of 3 nights when we only stayed for two.

Beds were all comfortable, as was all of the furniture. Place was very clean.

There was also great outdoor space, but being winter we didn't use it.

Cons- Because it was winter it would have been lovely to use the gas fireplace which was a focal point of the living room. But we could not get it to work and the owner could not instruct us.

There weren't any written instructions for some things like the fireplace, the washer, the jetted tub, the TV surround sound, but we figured it all out. I could imagine, however, some people being frustrated by this. You need to be well-versed in modern equipment.

If chipping tile and grout and holes in the wall from unfinished projects would bother you be-ware! This wasn't from overuse or being worn out, just not well-done or finished, but it didn't bother us in the least. Examples--the dining light fixture didn't work so there was a fluorescent bar tacked cock-eyed above the windows, where the curtains hung disheveled because they didn't really fit on the rod and an extension cord hung down so that light could be plugged into the wall. Stuff like that which was more like a college rental than a lovely vacation home. Again, it was a little frustrating, but the things that are most important were good.

What did bother us is:

The third bedroom with 2 twins (that could be put together for a king) had no bedside table or reading lamps. There were no hooks in the bathroom to ha

Awesome house

  • 4 of 5

Overall great experience in the house. Very good location, quiet house, 2 nice beds, one king and another king, the 2 twin beds on the 3rd room the mattress are kind of uncomfortable.

The little complains that I have is that it was kind of short on cooking appliances, one pan and in a bad shape. Also the maintenance guy, VERY USEFUL, wasn't able to buy a lamp on top of the dinning table that was out because the owner had to approve the buy.

Anyway, my family stayed there for over a week the experience was great. Just those little details.

Wonderful Seattle House!

  • 5 of 5

My family stayed at this house for ten days while we were in Seattle for my daughter's wedding. The owner was extremely accommodating, and the house was very clean and comfortable. There is a lot of interior space, a driveway and garage for easy parking, and the back yard and deck are really nice. The location was convenient to getting around the city. Having a washer and dryer on site was also very helpful during our stay. I will definitely plan on staying here again when we come back to Seattle to visit our daughter and her new husband.
