I have been a business owner in Cody since 1983 and owned and operated a roller skating facility until just a few years ago. I have also been a horse owner since the age of fourteen with the exception of the four years that I attended Western Michigan University. My family moved to Cody from South Lyon, Michigan where I boarded horses and raised german shepherds. In the later years I was also involved with the K-9 Search & Rescue Team. We brought Children, Horses, Dogs and Cats to 'Big Wonderful Wyoming'!
All three children graduated from Cody High School with the youngest attending the Wapiti School from grades K thru 6. My Morgan Mare went from Show Horse to Mountain Horse. She took care of me on the trail; as well as packing out Elk for the family. I purchased her at six months of age and lost her a few years ago at the great age of thirty three. She was my horse of a Lifetime! Cody Country is most definitely an Awesome place to raise a family and to visit!
Linda L. Anderson purchased this chateau / country house in 1986
Our Vacation Rental is located in the Wapiti Valley and offers outdoor experiences of a Lifetime! All the numerous amenities have been listed; however the Airport and the well maintained roads make it an A+ for quests and their travel experience. This property is located along on the River with excellent fly fishing and has an adundance of Elk and Mule Deer around the property at numerous times of the year. The Buffalo Bill Reservoir and Visitor Center is also near by and has boating and great fishing.
This Property has Unique Mountain Views and Great Sounds from the Shoshone River that offer Tremendous Peace and Tranquillity for our Guests. Such great amenities with Cody and Yellowstone nearby.
Our stay at Stagecoach River Ranch was beyond words! We had two families, one from Ohio and the other from Alabama, meeting for vacation. This included four adults and six kids, 11 and under. The house was ideal for our vacation out west! Although it says two bedrooms, there is more than enough space! Each of us had a nice bed to sleep in and we loved being able to cook our meals or pack a lunch for the day without the hassle of a hotel room.
The distance from Cody and Yellowstone was perfect. We spent one day exploring the BearTooth Hwy, several days driving around Yellowstone, went horseback riding at the Shoshone Lodge, whitewater rafting with Wyoming River Trips, attended the Cody Rodeo and enjoyed our time in Cody. The kids loved spending time down at the river that runs through the property. We couldn't have asked for a better setting.
We would suggest this property to anyone visiting Yellowstone! We look forward to visiting in the future!
This place was in a great location between Yellowstone and Cody surrounded by beautiful mountains unique to the area. The large bedroom was perfect for the kids to hang out and play air hockey together. The fishing along the Shoshone River was just yards away from the cabin. We loved having the horses to greet us each morning. We had such a fun memorable family and friends trip. Linda was a wonderful host.
This couldn't have been a better place for our family trip through Yellowstone. We hung out all day our first day in to get some rest. This place relaxed me more than I have been in years. We walked down to the river and looked at all of the horses. Hit the Cody rodeo that night. Would go back tomorrow if I could. Lisa was very hospitable.
This was the perfect location for our Cody/Yellowstone vacation. The scenery around the place was unbelievable, a true testament to God's creation. Linda was more than accommodating, she even replaced the puck for our kids to continue playing air hockey. The space was more than enough for our party of 8 (4 adults and 4 kids). I would highly recommend this place for anyone visiting the area!
My partner and I and our 2 horses spent a week at Stagecoach River Ranch. Upon pulling in we were greeted and made welcome. We hooked up our LQ trailer to water, power and settled in. Linda gave us all the information as to where to ride, fish, and sight see. There were other travelers with and without horses and we never ran into issues. The rates are standard for what we found all during our one month travel on the road. The fences are very safe, the hay is of excellent quality. It was easy to haul in and out to the many nearby trailheads each day. Thanks Linda for making our Wapiti stay excellent! -Lori and Jeff. Max and Oreo.
Linda's ranch has breathtaking panoramic views all around. The peaks surrounding the place are really amazing and peaceful at the same time. You can literally just sit in front of the house, and enjoy a world-class view here, sort of going back in time, you know, old west, and start to love this place more and more. We really enjoyed our stay there, and ended up extending our stay because we loved it so much there! My parents live in Asia, which is far far away, but, they enjoyed it so much, so, they talk about coming back here,, what can we say more?
A bit more details.. Our family of 7 (2 seniors, 3 adults, 2 children) stayed there and found that there was more than sufficient space available for all of us. Kitchen is well equipped for cooking, and all the amenities were properly prepared. We stayed at the unit with 3 beds which is located on the first floor of Linda's home, and there are beautiful horses right outside the porch, which made our children super excited. Linda was very hospitable and took time to even take photo ups for our children on her horses before she actually heads out for trailing with her horses. The location is well separated from Cody's more crowded center, but, within convenient 20 min drive which also provides beautiful scenery of water & mountains. At night, we spent time to see nightly Rodeo in town, which was out first time actually seeing one, and it was fun. The buffalo bill museum is also very educational about Buffalo Bill & native American history, and it's worth seeing too if you are into such attractions. It takes about 2 hours from here to enter Yellowstone's East gate, which ultimately leads to Yellowstone lake. Overall, beautiful location, easy access to all major attractions, and superbly recommended!
Stagecoach River Ranch is located directly on the Shoshone River for absolutely awesome fishing and is for our Guests Exclusively! Stagecoach Trail runs along the River and is just 3 miles East of the Buffalo Bill Reservoir which is an excellent place to dock your boat or just fish off Shore. The Buffalo Bill Reservoir also has a Visitor Center at head of the Dam for your viewing.
