This home features two bedrooms, two bathrooms, 1,515 square feet and was originally built in 1902. It was completely remodeled in 2009. It was designed to maintain its old world charm while providing modern day amenities. This home is one block east of downtown Austin. It is bright and airy with ten foot ceilings throughout, vaulted ceilings in the master bedroom and many windows for natural lighting. A mere five blocks away from Austin’s famous Sixth Street entertainment district and within walking distance to fine dining, coffee houses and art galleries, it’s easy to say that this home is in a fantastic location. Did we mention that the University of Texas at Austin is a short 1.5 mile jaunt where you can enjoy all of UT’s athletic events? If you are coming to Austin for a convention, you’re in luck! This home is a short five minute walk to the convention center.

Take in a view of the downtown skyline from the living, dining, kitchen or back porch, enjoy the private back yard equipped with a bar on the back covered deck or take a bike ride, walk or short taxi ride to all the fun that Austin offers on a daily basis. There are so many amazing restaurants in our little neighborhood that you will not go hungry or thirty. Fabulous coffee, wine, beer, pizza and other yummy food awaits you! However you decide to spend your time in Austin, the charm of the home and special location will guarantee a fabulous experience.

The home is located in an eclectic neighborhood. This area immediately east of downtown Austin is home to many local artists, musicians, unique establishments and renovation projects. There is a church across the street and many long time residents on the block. All the neighbors are wonderful and friendly. If you are looking for a “Leave It to Beaver” neighborhood, this may not be for you. If you are noise sensitive, you should know that this house is just half a block from I35. From the master bedroom, you will hear the traffic at a low level. Bring your ear plugs if that might bother you! If you are looking for an enchanting dwelling with close proximity to everything Austin has to offer, this is definitely the place!

What a wonderful home! Clean, comfortable, and recently designed and decorated. Perfect walking distance for those who want to be downtown but also close to all the cooler restaurants and bars in East Austin. Cristina was great. She called to check in on how we were enjoying and also offered up local spots to eat at.

We had a group of 5 girls here, and could have definitely had 6 with a lot of space. This house and location were both perfect for a weekend getaway! The back porch was great for hanging out at all times of the day (at night the lights were so pretty!), and very private, and the house is a 10 minute walk to Rainey Street or a 15 minute walk to the river. It was super clean, and had everything we needed. I would definitely come back!

The house was very comfortable and easy to use. We did a lot of cooking & entertaining of family & friends - everyone enjoyed the house. The location was perfect for us - very close to downtown - just a great experience overall. The property was a advertised. The master bedroom bed was remarkably comfortable.

Perfect is all we could say....

This was so much more than we expected. It was such a comfortable place to stay. Gracious and accomodating hosts. We attended a family wedding downtown while visiting Austin. Our house was perfect for having members of the family that were staying in hotels to come and congregate and hang out for awhile. There was parking for their vehicles and even though we did not entertain on a lovely backyard deck, it was inviting. Everything in the home is first class and the men were inspecting the remodel job that incorporated the old with the new. Who ever remodeled did a first class job.

Amenities? Alarm system if you wanted. Built in speakers in the ceiling to listen to music, fully equipped kitchen. Less than a mile from downtown, easy access to freeway. The amazing thing about this place was that, though situated very near the freeway, you could not hear it, unless you stepped outside. Everyone of my family that saw the place was in awe. The cab was $10.00 including a decent tip to downtown! You could not ask for more, except for lessons on how to operate the TV!!! For the untechies like me:)....the guys figured it out. Very reasonably priced, if your only other option was to stay in a hotel in the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

welcoming home;great location

This beautiful and comfortable home has so much to offer: walking distance to downtown and to local community and restaurants and a great access to the outdoors for winter-weary Northerners.

Walking Distance to 6th Street

We were planning a guys vacation in Austin and were wanting to stay somewhere that was within reasonable walking distance to 6th Street to avoid driving after a night at the bars and that had a golf course close by. We also wanted a place that had a grill and a nice outdoor area to hang out at. This place fit the bill perfectly! The entire house has been updated and you feel like you're in your own world in the backyard as it is a fenced in fortress. They have a washers pit, gas & charcoal grill, a fire pit, and patio chairs to lounge around in. The house is right off I-35, so you can hear the traffic if you listen for it, but we really didn't seem to notice it while we were there. The house has two bedrooms and two beds and there were 6 guys that stayed there, but we managed to make it work by bringing some air up mattresses. If you're looking for some good street tacos, I'd recommend Bomb Tacos. It's almost directly across I-35 in the patio area of a fun little bar called the Lustre Pearl. To say the least, we had a blast that weekend and would definitely recommend this house to anyone looking to be close to it all.
