We are two blocks from Ferry to get you across the River. Ferry ride has very nice view of New Orleans. Nice shot of Saint Louis Cathedral. It is nice when the sun is setting.
Second oldest neighborhood in New Orleans. 200 years old! The houses in the neighborhood are awesome. Houses have lots of character. With a childrens park three doors down and two other parks in the neighborhood, makes this the best neighborhood you can book. There are three really cool Bars. Old Point Bar is the best with live Music. There are three Restaurants, Tout De Sweets is good for breakfast and Lunch. Dry Dock is very close to Ferry for Lunch or dinner. It is also a Bar. Appetite Repair Shop is open Thursday thru Saturday on Vallette and Alix. Get there early, he runs out of food quickly.
The bus can pick you up and drop you off one block across the street. 'The Owl' is the one you take late at night. Ferry hours are 7:15 leaves Algiers Point and 6:15 is the last one that leave promptly from the Central Business District. So get there before 6:15. It is the last one so you don't want to miss it! If you do you can take the bus. It picks you up at the corner of Canal and Historical Basin Street. 5042964700 Andy, Run towels and dry departing.

No crime Neighborhood on the Westbank. You can free of worries walking at night. Ferry hours will be added when demand is higher. February 23rd 2014 Ferry will cost 2 dollars. Worth it the view is amazing Live Music at Old Point Bar!
Three blocks from the Ferry. Then just few blocks to French Quarter. I respond to text quickly! Not email.
We totally enjoyed our stay. The house was in good area, and I have to say was spotless. The owner was very helpful and friendly. If we go back to New Orleans again we will be staying with Home away.
Can't wait to come back to NOLA. Will be looking up this property again. Great neighborhood with local bars and a short ferry ride to action downtown. Andrew was a great host. Thanks!
We really enjoyed the location. It was convenient to every location we visited. It was clean a cozy. The neighbors were very nice as well. We recommended the property to another group who visited New Orleans the week after we left.
Stayed at Andrew's house in Algiers Point for 5 days while in New Orleans for work. House was comfortable and spacious with a small shared back yard. We had to park on the street, as my SUV would not get down the alley through the shotgun houses. That was a little unnerving, but most everyone parks on the street. The neighborhood is beautiful and safe with lots of folks out walking dogs or sitting on front patios. Very welcoming with sort of a hippie vibe to it. Visitors to Algiers Point should be mindful that some neighborhoods surrounding the point are not so safe. I took Whitney/LB Landry to Opelousas to Verrette to Pelican and found it very safe. I also felt very comfortable walking the 3 blocks to the ferry, which quickly took you across the Mississippi to downtown/ French Quarter- absolutely convenient and affordable. Would stay again.
The place was very nice. Clean and well supplied, Andy was always available to handle any small issues that may come up. The place is not new but kept up nicely and is a great place to stay in the Algiers community. Only a few block from the ferry to the french quarter, it has a feeling of being in a hidden, quite, safe private island next to the action. Great for a long stay or quick weekend. A few nice restaurants and watering holes add to the areas appeal.
Ferry does not take cars! If you google map it, it will take you to the ferry. Because it is the closest to my house.
Tout Du Suites, Crown and Anchor English Pub on Pelican and Bouny St. Dry Dock Cafe and live music at Old Point Bar! Holy Name of Mary Church around the block. Imagine Yoga on Opelousas.
