Wonderful experience in this log home. Loved the peacefulness and beautiful scenery all around us.
We loved the beautiful log cabin, the fireplace, the games to play downstairs and the comforts of being at home. It was so nice to have the ability to wash clothes, make our own meals and view the beauty all around us. We would definitely book this home again.
This cabin was perfect for our book group get-away. The Great Room and dining room were both very cozy and comfortable for the six of us. We had everything we needed and the kitchen in particular was very well stocked. We loved the location - tucked away and very quiet - but just a half hour away from Palisade so we could visit wine country. And the views from the deck are beautiful - constantly changing with the weather and time of day! We even saw a rainbow.
Amazing place and views. Will definitely come here again.
My dad and brother were visiting this summer and since my dad is getting a bit older, the traditional camping style didn't seem like a good fit for our trip. We still wanted to be up on the Mesa though so we looked into renting a cabin. We were extremely happy with our stay. The cabin is stocked with everything you can think of and after a long day of canoeing, fishing, hiking, etc; finishing the day with a relaxing hot tub soak was just fantastic. I highly recommend this!
I'm glad your family enjoyed your stay and I hope you made lots of good memories to last a lifetime! Come back and stay with us again.
It was beautiful.
It was nice and peaceful
Please don't smoke in our home. I had to charge this group $250 for ozone smoke abatement after a member of their party smoked marijuana in one of the bedrooms. I'm guessing that's why the 3 star review. They even left a soda can full of ash in the bedroom, and the receipt for two strains of weed from the Green Joint in Parachute. The cleaning lady said it really smelled!
Beautiful cabin in a beautiful spot
We had a family reunion in this cabin--6 adults and 2 kids. It worked perfectly for us. The place is very nicely furnished and well equipped with electronics. The kids had access to plenty of games/activities. The cabin comfortably handled 8 people with plenty of room to spread out. The hot tub was a wonderful feature (with an excellent view) that we all enjoyed.
The kitchen is also well equipped and made cooking for this group easy and enjoyable. There is a lovely dining room set that was perfect for our meals.
I recommend this cabin without reservation. We are looking forward to renting it during ski season also. then we'll have a chance to use the impressive stone fireplace.
Please come back in the winter. There is nothing better after a long day on the slopes than sitting next to a roaring fire and listening to the crackling of the wood. Well, maybe sitting under the stars in the hot tub! LOL
Perfect Family Ski Vacation
The house was perfect ... well equipped for family dinners and within minutes of Powderhorn (you could practically walk!!). We had everything we could need for a wonderful family vacation, lots or room and every last detail attended to (right down to a pre-built fire). I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in the area. Can't wait to return.
The owners were extremely friendly and accommodating and quick to respond. We felt that they truly cared that we enjoyed their home.
I can't say enough good things about our stay.
Thank you so much!!
Wendy, it was pleasure having your group stay with us, and I am so glad your girls had a blast and got to experience Colorado at its best: a crackling fire in a large log home close to a ski area with a big hot tub under the stars! If you ever make it out again from Florida, please look us up. I do take pride in our home and the many memories families and friends create there last a lifetime!
During the winter there is a free sledding hill just up the road on Hwy 65, and now Powderhorn offers lift served tubing on the weekends at the ski resort. Tons of snowmobile and cross country trails. In summer, fishing is close by and fantastic. Lots of ATV, moutain bike and hiking trails. Powderhorn also offers lift served downhill mountain biking in the summer.
