Cozy modern mountain cabin in the Los Padres National Forest just 75 minutes north of Los Angeles, CA. Pine Mountain is one of Southern California's best-kept secrets--a small alpine village with a four-season climate. We have light snow in the Winter, spectacular wildflowers in Spring, and gorgeous Fall colors. It's a wonderful getaway—and yet so close!
Our two-story home is located on a quiet street at 5771 feet. Lovely pine ceilings throughout the cabin contribute to the warm ambience. The 1100 sq. ft. interior is furnished in a modern style with a leather sofa and some cool abstract art on the walls. The living room has a wood stove and 50' HDTV with direct satellite & Blu Ray DVD. A skylight in the living room brings in lots of light.
The master bedroom (queen bed) is separate from the downstairs and reached via a spiral staircase leading up to French doors. The master bathroom adjoins the bedroom and has a skylight over the double length tiled shower. A second bedroom downstairs has a day bed with trundle.
Upper and lower decks offer lovely views of Mt. Pinos and the San Emigdio range. Relax on the sunny decks or in the Adirondack chair near the pond surrounded by pine trees. Plan to do some bbqing--it is so pleasant to do some grilling on the upper deck bbq and dine outdoors.
Our cabin is VERY clean and well-kept. It can comfortably accommodate 4 people. PLEASE no smoking or pets! Four guest passes to club facilities are provided (e.g. tennis courts, golf course, pool, club lounge, cafe, game room). Wireless INTERNET accessible throughout the cabin so bring your laptop! We also provide an Ethernet cable, if needed.
Mt. Pinos has the best view of the stars in So. California—star parties are common whenever there is a new moon. In addition, since we are in the Padres National Forest - wildlife (deer, raccoons, bobcat, fox, bunnies, squirrels, quail, stellar and scrub jays) abounds. Rare California Condor preserve located on Cerro Noroeste Road (main road through town) approximately 15 miles west.
We have an extraordinary number of sunny days—it is rare to have a gloomy day. Since SNOW may be present during cooler months be sure to carry chains. Our roads are well-maintained but the CHP is strict about safety when snow is possible. Sledding awaits at Mt. Pino's (8300' - 8800') just 15-20 minutes away, GREAT for cross-country skiing and snow-play destination!
The local Village Commercial Center is 2 miles away and offers access to a market, gift shops, several restaurants, ice cream store, laundromat and a spa. There are lots of hiking trails nearby as well as a fishing pond!
Must be age 25 or older for rental.

This cabin is our first home and we lived here for 20 years until a job change forced a relocation. We remodeled extensively about 8 years ago. It is a beautiful cabin and we love coming to visit.
Debra Sheets purchased this cabin in 1989
It is very peaceful to spend a few days here-- and also comfortable. We LOVE being here with time to read, hike, relax.....did I mention slowing down and enjoying life? BREATHE!

Mount Abel and Mt. Pinos are nearby offering cross country skiing in the winter and hiking in the summer. Fishing is available at Fern's Lake which is just a mile away. Horseback riding is available in the summer. Or simply relax on the deck and enjoy the fresh mountain air-- you won't want to leave!
My husband and I decided to spend the last days of 2016 relaxing in the mountains before life starts all over again in 2017. We could not have been happier with our decision. The cabin was so inviting and cozy, we hardly left to go out during our 5 day stay. Debra thought of everything to make the space inviting and warm for her guests; the kitchen was well stocked, there was wood for the fireplace, clean bed sheets and towels provided and a huge movie selection. It didn't feel like we were staying in someone else's cabin, it felt like home. If we needed anything, Debra was an email away. She responded fast to my emails, was very friendly and sweet and even warned us ahead of time of impending snow. We were so sad to leave but can't wait to be back!
Debbie's Home is a beautiful cabin fireplace works great we had snow in for 2 days the roads got pretty icy I'm lucky I had 4 wheel drive I must say Debbie the owner of this home is very detail-oriented she has a guest book that explains all the appliances and amenities of the home and she lays it out very clear . Also I love the soap shampoo and conditioner dispensers in the showers
First is Debra, the owner/host. She was very responsive and provided all the information before I even needed it. Terrific. As I approached the cabin, I was thrilled with the panoramic view of the valley from the southern slope. While there are trees all around, the grade means a great view from the deck on the front and side. For more privacy, there is a back deck below the treeline. The house is cozy, and perfect for a small family or a couple. Nice open layout with tall ceilings so you don't feel cramped. The main floor bedroom has a day bed with trundle. Linens were nice. If there's a second couple, you'll have to do the "I Love Lucy" thing and sleep in separate beds. There is a spiral staircase to the upstairs bedroom. Of note is that it's a queen size bed, not king. But this works for me. Great shower.
Regarding cozy...the kitchen. Top quality appliances. Somehow everything I needed was there. For its size, it worked really well. I was impressed with the stove, the BBQ, etc. We were there in summer to escape the heat. Last minute and worked well. Looking forward to going back without the kids for a quiet romantic weekend. There were passes to get to the clubhouse. Went swimming, picked up a toothbrush, went to a restaurant. Chose not to walk to the town center, but could have. Nice part is that we didn't spend a lot of our time in the car once we arrived.
This cabin was very accommodating, and felt homey. We felt like the owner really wanted us to have a great experience and we did.
We stayed for the weekend in Pine Mountain Club.
We really enjoyed the house! It had a really nice deck, BBQ and all the kitchen amenities you could ask for.
The owner was really responsive and welcoming.
We'll be back!
