Cozy modern mountain cabin in the Los Padres National Forest just 75 minutes north of Los Angeles, CA. Pine Mountain is one of Southern California's best-kept secrets--a small alpine village with a four-season climate. We have light snow in the Winter, spectacular wildflowers in Spring, and gorgeous Fall colors. It's a wonderful getaway—and yet so close!
Our two-story home is located on a quiet street at 5771 feet. Lovely pine ceilings throughout the cabin contribute to the warm ambience. The 1100 sq. ft. interior is furnished in a modern style with a leather sofa and some cool abstract art on the walls. The living room has a wood stove and 50' HDTV with direct satellite & Blu Ray DVD. A skylight in the living room brings in lots of light.
The master bedroom (queen bed) is separate from the downstairs and reached via a spiral staircase leading up to French doors. The master bathroom adjoins the bedroom and has a skylight over the double length tiled shower. A second bedroom downstairs has a day bed with trundle.
Upper and lower decks offer lovely views of Mt. Pinos and the San Emigdio range. Relax on the sunny decks or in the Adirondack chair near the pond surrounded by pine trees. Plan to do some bbqing--it is so pleasant to do some grilling on the upper deck bbq and dine outdoors.
Our cabin is VERY clean and well-kept. It can comfortably accommodate 4 people. PLEASE no smoking or pets! Four guest passes to club facilities are provided (e.g. tennis courts, golf course, pool, club lounge, cafe, game room). Wireless INTERNET accessible throughout the cabin so bring your laptop! We also provide an Ethernet cable, if needed.
Mt. Pinos has the best view of the stars in So. California—star parties are common whenever there is a new moon. In addition, since we are in the Padres National Forest - wildlife (deer, raccoons, bobcat, fox, bunnies, squirrels, quail, stellar and scrub jays) abounds. Rare California Condor preserve located on Cerro Noroeste Road (main road through town) approximately 15 miles west.
We have an extraordinary number of sunny days—it is rare to have a gloomy day. Since SNOW may be present during cooler months be sure to carry chains. Our roads are well-maintained but the CHP is strict about safety when snow is possible. Sledding awaits at Mt. Pino's (8300' - 8800') just 15-20 minutes away, GREAT for cross-country skiing and snow-play destination!
The local Village Commercial Center is 2 miles away and offers access to a market, gift shops, several restaurants, ice cream store, laundromat and a spa. There are lots of hiking trails nearby as well as a fishing pond!

This cabin is our first home and we lived here for 20 years until a job change forced a relocation. We remodeled extensively about 8 years ago. It is a beautiful cabin and we love coming to visit.
Debra Sheets purchased this cabin in 1989

We stayed for two nights and enjoyed everything about the cabin. Everything was clean, organized, and comfortable. The Holiday decorations were beautiful. The owner definitely goes out of her way to make this a very special place to visit. We would love to return sometime soon.
We had a great time in this cute little cabin. Easy driveway, plenty of wood and very, very warm. Did not feel like a rental, the home is clean and nicely updated. We would stay here again for sure.
We travel to PMC multiple times a year, it is one of our favorite local "getaways". We have stayed in at least 20 different cabins over the years and this was by far the best overall cabin we have had the opportunity to visit. It is very private with a reasonable distance from neighbors (who were not even home) and very scenic. The owners clearly take great pride in this property and go above and beyond to assure that it is clean and comfortable. Most cabins we have stayed in are very much "cabins" .. a little rustic, not so clean, and comprised of hand me down furniture, dishes, and lines. This place was truly worthy of hotel quality. Everything was new and fresh and clean. The towels and linen were high quality, newer, and still maintained their intended fluffiness =-). It was impeccably clean, everything detail was considered. The cabin was decorated for Christmas and the owners and keepers even went above and beyond to even include a Birthday Greeting for me when we arrived !! We will be back this is our new first choice in PMC. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you !!
