Located within walking distance from the beach, this simply beautiful and modern apartment is where you'll want to retreat during your getaway. As you walk in, you'll instantly feel like you've walked into a fancy hotel, without paying the price. We are located in a hidden beach next to Table Rock (Surf spot), an ideal spot for swimming, surfing, fishing, and kayaking. Typically, the winter season brings with it waves worthy of the surfer in you, while the summertime offers a more calm and serene beach. About 15 minutes away, you'll find yourself in Rincon, popularly known as the 'Meca of Surfing' For the social butterflies, a large variety of restaurants and bars are as close as a five-minute drive. If a desirable location and a comfortable, beautiful 'home away from home' are what you are looking for, come home to Santa Mar.
I am originally from Aguada, PR. My whole family lives about 10 minutes from the property. We love Aguada, and of course our beach house. My twins love to spent the sunsets walking the beach picking up shells and finding all kind of treasures!
Alexy Aviles purchased this condo in 2014
This property was the one I choose after several years waiting for the right place to speak to me. Once you see it, you will understand why. Love the yard, love the house, love the quietness, and love the secluded beach just for me and the kids most of the times!
And to make it even better, the area is quiet, but very close to the nice restaurants and bars.
My family spent 8 nights in the first level condo of Santa Mar earlier this month...it was one of our favorite trips to Puerto Rico! I'll start by saying that the pictures and description of the property are spot-on accurate. It's a beautiful, modern, and clean home in a quiet and safe neighborhood tucked next to the ocean. Traveling with three children, I was pleased to find that what you see is what you get! The kids were thrilled with the bunk bed room, which has both a comfy full-size bed and a twin bed. The closets in both room are so spacious that we were able to easily organize our clothes and belongings for a stress-free stay. Also, we were amazed to find out that there were unexpected bonus amenities: fully stocked laundry room was my saving grace for our first trip with our one-year old....master bedroom closet has a beach bag full of sand toys, which literally made my kids dance for joy upon discovery...the small Igloo cooler was perfect for us, as we made ice cubes in the freezer and stocked the cooler for trips to Crashboat Beach, Gozalandia Falls, and Playa Sucia...we found Dominos in the living room which my kids played endlessly on a rainy afternoon (you can't have an authentic Puerto Rico vacation unless you play Dominos!)....this mommy found the fully stocked kitchen to be so convenient for preparing meals and snacks and enjoying delicious glasses of wine and Puerto Rican sangria(Passion fruit/Parcha is incredible--you can find at the local liquor store)! Beyond the amenities, we also enjoyed the proximity to the nearby beach, which was serene and mostly private (except for a few fishermen) during our stay. Although there was some debris toward the east as another reviewer mentioned (broken trees and palm leaves), this did not deter us from enjoying early morning walks and picturesque evening sunsets. The house is just down the road from numerous restaurants and bars--we frequented Panaderia Gabriel for breakfast to-go, which we brought back to the house and enjoyed on the beautiful outdoor table (yummy pancakes and pastries!). For dinner and drinks, we frequented El Galeon---we loved the open-air seating right next to the hush of the waves and we also were able to order food to-go on days that we wanted to lounge at the house. We fell asleep every night listening to the intoxicating whispers of the coqui frogs outside of this incredible property! Thank you for a memorable stay at your lovely home--we will be back!
We stayed in the second floor suite last year. This year we stayed downstairs and it was a lovely stay. The local beach was littered with debris this year but we love going to Crashboat, Rincon, Domes, and south to Sucia.
The Santa Mar vacation rental is a lovely apartment that feels like a house. The photos online provide an accurate description of the property. The space is cozy with plenty of room to stretch out and relax. The home offered all the basics needed to feel comfortable and the apartment was clean and ready for our arrival. The little private beach is lovely and just down the block. The downtown area is a quiet, clean little town with friendly people. There are several small, hidden beaches that lead to a larger public beach. Along the way are several bars and restaurants. This is a good location for the many activities Puerto Rico has to offer along the west coast. I would recommend this property and I would love to stay here again.
Our time at Santa Mar and in Aguada itself was just magical! We will come again! We appreciate all the comforts Santa Mar offered. We felt very welcomed, it was perfect for us! I can't stop smiling! During the week we did go to Gozalandia Falls too, that was a great suggestion! The Mojitos at the bar at the waterfalls are the best to be found! One day in Aguada I saw fishermen net-surf fishing and they caught their meal within mere minutes. Thanks for letting us stay at your beautiful house! - Susan and Gilberto
This was a very beautiful place. We enjoyed our stay in aguada. It was very close to the beach, bakery, restaurant and the city of aguada. We enjoyed there was not heavy traffic. It is secluded and has privacy. We stayed for two week with our family of 4. The condo had a nice modern vibe. All the ammentiea were what we needed. We also enjoyed the extra minor things such as beach chairs, mini cooler, charcoal, and other minor things.
It was centrally located to all our destinations such as ponce, lares, Cabo rojo, San Juan , etc....
Only minor negative thing I can say is that when we arrived . We weren't sure how to enter the property . Quick call to Alex and it was resolved in a matter of minutes.
The groundskeeper , I think "Jorge" introduced himself the second day we were there. He told us what was available to us if we had any problems on the condo. We had no problem so all was well.
I do plan to stay here again when we go back to Puerto Rico.... 5/5 stars
very clean, very good customer service, good restaurants within 1 mile....my expectations were exceeded
