About the property

Located within walking distance from the beach, this simply beautiful and modern apartment is where you'll want to retreat during your getaway. As you walk in, you'll instantly feel like you've walked into a fancy hotel, without paying the price. We are located in a hidden beach next to Table Rock (Surf spot), an ideal spot for swimming, surfing, fishing, and kayaking. Typically, the winter season brings with it waves worthy of the surfer in you, while the summertime offers a more calm and serene beach. About 15 minutes away, you'll find yourself in Rincon, popularly known as the 'Meca of Surfing' For the social butterflies, a large variety of restaurants and bars are as close as a five-minute drive. If a desirable location and a comfortable, beautiful 'home away from home' are what you are looking for, come home to Santa Mar.

About Alexy Aviles

I am originally from Aguada, PR. My whole family lives about 10 minutes from the property. We love Aguada, and of course our beach house. My twins love to spent the sunsets walking the beach picking up shells and finding all kind of treasures!

Alexy Aviles purchased this condo in 2014

Why Alexy Aviles chose Aguada

This property was the one I choose after several years waiting for the right place to speak to me. Once you see it, you will understand why. Love the yard, love the house, love the quietness, and love the secluded beach just for me and the kids most of the times!

What makes this condo unique

And to make it even better, the area is quiet, but very close to the nice restaurants and bars.

Loved the apartment! Very clean and cozy. Loved the exterior and beautiful landscape.

  • 4 of 5

The apartment looks great just like the pictures, which is rare because there are dishonest people out there! Convenient laundry room onsite. Near my family so that I can visit often, which I absolutely loved! Would give a five star if only the beach was clean enough to enjoy. Luckily there are great beaches not too far away from Aguada. George, who helps maintain the apartments, was very nice and showed us around the apartment we rented. The owner responded immediately upon inquiring initially about the rental and answered all of my questions, which I appreciate. I would absolutely rent again!!! Great service, great rental property overall.

It was an excellent vacation with my family.

  • 4 of 5

The facilities of the house are good and it is equipped with all you need to have a good experience. The sea is near the house and we have the opportunity to see the best sunset of the world. There are fantastic places to visit like Crash Boat Beach and Aguadilla Ice Skating Park. We have an excellent time with my family sharing good moments and being happy.

Nice clean apartment

  • 4 of 5

Our three week stay at the downstairs apartment was very nice. The place is clean and has almost everything one needs for a pleasant stay. The reason I do not give a five star rating is this: the living room couch was not in the greatest condition. I have dust allergies and I could not sit on it without getting allergy symptoms. That made the stay in the living room a bit uncomfortable. However, the rest of the furniture was ok. One problem was the condition of the beach by the house. A river flows into the ocean not far from the property so the water at the beach can get pretty nasty. We were told by a health professional that swimming was not recommended at this part of the beach. This was very disappointing since we booked a place by the beach so our ten year old could go enjoy the water and we would not have to use the car every time. So when booking this place, keep in mind that the beach is for walks only.

Owner's Response: I am sorry for the inconvenience with the sofa. We will diligently figure what exactly happened during your stay since pets are not allowed in our property, still, we just got a new sofa to replace it and prevent any futurte issues with it. In terms of the beach, Puerto Rico's beaches are always under the the rule of two different monitoring programs: the Beach Act (federal) and the Junta de Calidad Ambiental (JCA). Both programs are constantly monitoring for the quality of the water in all our beaches. According to the most recent report, the beaches surrounding our rental are completely safe and free of contaminants. You can see more reports If you look for the Junta de Calidad Ambiental online.

Unforgettable stay in Aguada!

  • 5 of 5

My family spent 8 nights in the first level condo of Santa Mar earlier this was one of our favorite trips to Puerto Rico! I'll start by saying that the pictures and description of the property are spot-on accurate. It's a beautiful, modern, and clean home in a quiet and safe neighborhood tucked next to the ocean. Traveling with three children, I was pleased to find that what you see is what you get! The kids were thrilled with the bunk bed room, which has both a comfy full-size bed and a twin bed. The closets in both room are so spacious that we were able to easily organize our clothes and belongings for a stress-free stay. Also, we were amazed to find out that there were unexpected bonus amenities: fully stocked laundry room was my saving grace for our first trip with our one-year old....master bedroom closet has a beach bag full of sand toys, which literally made my kids dance for joy upon discovery...the small Igloo cooler was perfect for us, as we made ice cubes in the freezer and stocked the cooler for trips to Crashboat Beach, Gozalandia Falls, and Playa Sucia...we found Dominos in the living room which my kids played endlessly on a rainy afternoon (you can't have an authentic Puerto Rico vacation unless you play Dominos!)....this mommy found the fully stocked kitchen to be so convenient for preparing meals and snacks and enjoying delicious glasses of wine and Puerto Rican sangria(Passion fruit/Parcha is incredible--you can find at the local liquor store)! Beyond the amenities, we also enjoyed the proximity to the nearby beach, which was serene and mostly private (except for a few fishermen) during our stay. Although there was some debris toward the east as another reviewer mentioned (broken trees and palm leaves), this did not deter us from enjoying early morning walks and picturesque evening sunsets. The house is just down the road from numerous restaurants and bars--we frequented Panaderia Gabriel for breakfast to-go, which we brought back to the house and enjoyed on the beautiful outdoor table (yummy pancakes and pastries!). For dinner and drinks, we frequented El Galeon---we loved the open-air seating right next to the hush of the waves and we also were able to order food to-go on days that we wanted to lounge at the house. We fell asleep every night listening to the intoxicating whispers of the coqui frogs outside of this incredible property! Thank you for a memorable stay at your lovely home--we will be back!

Great stay

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in the second floor suite last year. This year we stayed downstairs and it was a lovely stay. The local beach was littered with debris this year but we love going to Crashboat, Rincon, Domes, and south to Sucia.
