Nice Mountain Getaway!!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time renting a cabin in the mountains so we don't have anything to compare it to, but this cabin was very nice, up-to-date, beautiful wood flooring and walls, modern kitchen and secluded location. The gravel driveway up to the cabin is a bit of a challenge but we had no problems in our front wheel drive car, just take it slow. The only negative I can think of is the lack of closets or places to hang clothes. Maybe a few nice hooks mounted to a wall in each bedroom would be helpful.

The sounds of silence... minus the crickets, frogs, & birds

  • 4 of 5

The cabin is very remote and it’s definitely a place to unplug from everything. No cell service, no internet… just satellite TV, board games and books. Enjoyed time with the family without interruptions from the “outside world”. I’m not sure which was more peaceful, falling asleep to the sounds of crickets and frogs or waking to chirping birds and sunshine filling the cabin. Sitting in the rocking chair on the screened in porch enjoying my morning coffee was a nice start to each day. I would recommend this cabin to others; however, I would give them more detail about the single lane “path” (a.k.a. road) and its winding slope up the mountain. Our minivan struggled up the slope and we made certain we were back at the cabin by 6PM each night because we had no interested in make such a trek in the dark.

Quiet, remote cabin with great scenery

  • 5 of 5

Very remote, but not too far away from main road. Great location in relation to area mines. 2 BR with room in living area for blow-up mattress. Screened-in porch a nice bonus. Very clean with all the amenities we needed. Close to Franklin for a night out. Owner promptly responded to all questions. Highly recommend!

Peaceful getaway

  • 5 of 5

Lovely cabin on peaceful mountain - clean, well furnished and pet friendly! Close to trails and waterfalls. Would like to get back to spend some time in the little towns around. Jeff was very helpful and quick to respond to questions.

Perfect dog-friendly getaway

  • 5 of 5

We wanted to take a trip to the mountains of WNC for rafting, mountain biking, and hiking. We were thrilled to find such an idyllic place to stay. We both loved it, and so did our dogs. The furniture was very comfortable, and the cabin was thoughtfully furnished. It was so unbelievably quiet up there! We found everything exactly as we expected--the directions we were provided were thorough and everything about the cabin was in perfect order upon our arrival. We won't hesitate to stay there again.

Great stay in Franklin

  • 5 of 5

We booked the property at the last minute to attend a funeral in Franklin. Jeff went out of his way to accommodate us. We were two adults and two dogs. The cabin was perfect for us. Everything was very, very clean, the furniture was comfortable, the cabin was very cute and functional, and very nicely decorated.

We loved the screened porch - a perfect place for the dogs to feel like they were outside but also be secure. The fireplace heater was amazing! I didn't realize it would warm the place up so nicely. Everything we needed was available in the cabin. We could have easily stayed longer than two nights comfortably.

The drive up to the cabin was easy. There was a dirt road at the end of the drive, but the roads and signs were well marked, and that allowed the cabin to sit in the quiet secluded area that it did. We didn't see another car or person on the mountain all weekend. It was very convenient to get back and forth to Franklin.

There was nothing lacking here; in fact, it was above and beyond what you might expect, especially for the price. We highly recommend this to anyone, especially if you are traveling with your dogs as we were.

Thank you, Jeff, for your kind consideration!
