About Jarlath & Loretta Cooke

We are local to the area and have a lot of family living in this part of the countryside.

Why Jarlath & Loretta Cooke chose Ireland

We wished to be able and come visit this unique and beautiful part of the world when ever we wanted. We rebuilt this home from new to replace an old house. We finished it to a modest standard for our own enjoyment and use. Its our home away from home.

What makes this house unique

We stay in the Beach House to get away from it all. The home is extremely comfortable and quiet with all mod cons. We just love to kick back and relax, read, cook, or just take leisurely quiet walks to the beach. We have yet to take a walk and not spot something new or see something from a different vantage point. If you want quiet and peaceful this is the spot and yet you are still within a stones throw of many activities. Sometimes you may pass a local that is only to happy to pass the time of day with you and fill you in on all the local news and activities.

Wonderful Home for Connemara Exploration

  • 5 of 5

Our group consisted of 4 sisters and their husbands. We were touring along the Wild Atlantic Way by bus. This home was perfect for our needs. From our fist contact with the owners we had nothing but great experiences. The owners are very friendly, responsive and accommodating. They couldn't have been nicer in my opinion. The home is furnished very tastefully and is very, very comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped with all that is needed and state of the art appliances. The bedrooms are all en-suite and large. The beds and bedding were very comfortable. A short 10 minute walk bring you to a very beautiful secluded beach. Great picture taking opportunity. Perfect for touring the sights around Clifden (Sky Road), Westport, Kylemore Abbey, Connemara, Roundstone (Bodhrans) etc. Picture perfect part of the world. I highly recommend this property for you next visit in Connemara. Thanks for letting us enjoy the property.

Peaceful and beautiful Connemara home

  • 5 of 5

This is a fabulous holiday home well located in Connemara. We stayed with our 3 kids and had plenty of room to rest and relax, and yet were within easy reach of the National Park, Kylemore Abbey, Clifden and Westport.

The home is very clean, well equipped and located on a peaceful road, allowing for quiet walks and views of the countryside. The owners greeted us on arrival and were available for any questions.

We highly recommend this house for your Connemara holiday!

A Great House in Connemara!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I rented the beautiful new house in Ross Moyard owned by Jarlath and Loretta Cooke. Loretta met us in Cleggan and led us to the house where she showed us all its features and answered our questions. The house was situated on a very quiet dead end street that lead to a beautiful stone beach with fantastic views.

The photos in the listing did not do the house justice. First of all, the house was very clean. The kitchen had all the appliances and tools that one would need and the refrigerator is quite large. The floors are beautifully done both in tile and wood. The living room seating arrangement was very comfortable and the paintings in the house were painted by Loretta. All the bathrooms were very nice and the beds were very comfortable. The house was even equipped with a solar heated hot water system. It is well located for day trips to Kylmore, Clifden, Cong, Ashford Castle and Roundstone.

A real HOME for two weeks

  • 5 of 5

We two families (including 3 kids) spent two weeks in this wonderful area. We had a very friendly reception by Loretta and felt very fast "at home". The house has a lot of space, enough bedrooms with attached bath and a well equipped kitchen (incl. BBQ outdoor). It is calm arround the house with a short distance to nice beaches. We could easily reach Kylemore Abbey, Westport, Galway and even the Cliffs of Moher. We spent some time in Clifden (some miles away, where you have the supermarkets and Pubs) and in Cleggan (our base for sea fishing, horse riding). The home of family Cooke is highly recommended and we like to say again "thank you" for these wonderful Holidays we could spend in Connemara. Hope, to see you again...... Notes:
We are situated right out on the west coast in the middle of the Wild Atlantic Way. We are ideally suited for day trips north and south along the coast to see the most spectacular mountain and sea views, with an abundance of restaurants and pubs dotted along the way to break up the trip. Just 300 meters from a quiet secluded sandy beach, the area is also ideal for long quiet walks and is great for relaxing.
