We are San Francisco natives who love our city! Our neighborhood is beautiful, vibrant, sunny, interesting and central to the whole city, and we couldn't imagine living anywhere else. Come and enjoy this beautiful home to enhance your experience of this amazing city!
We chose this neighborhood as it is in the center of SF. It is close to everything, has great vitality, and is almost always sunny. The Castro has some of the best restaurants and shopping in the city, all within a few blocks of the house. We are two minute walk from a huge transportation hub, and we are two subway stops from Moscone center.
This is a great house for large families or for groups of colleagues. Our third floor recreation room is two flights up from the kitchen/ living room area, allowing adults to enjoy some private socializing while the kids have a great time upstairs playing ping-pong or video games on our 55 inch flat screen TV. The main floor is ideal for large family meals, enjoying each other while a warm fire is going in the fireplace.
From the beginning of my communication with the owner for a place to stay for a week in San Francisco, Sharon was exceptionally pleasant, accessible, and helpful. Our group was a large one: five grandparents, four children, and five grandchildren, and while we have vacationed together twice before, this was the first time we were all to share one home. During the contract process, she reassured me that, in the event of a catastrophe preventing our travel (from Tennessee, Georgia, and Chicago), she could probably rent the property to someone else, given that we were scheduled to be there during a busy holiday week. Fortunately, that did not happen. From the moment we walked into the roomy, immaculate, beautifully restored home, we knew that we had found the ideal space. The children we so enchanted with the third floor playroom/sleep area, with ping pong table, toys (including leggos), games, a TV, and DVDs, that we sometimes had difficulty persuading them that there was a world of fun and interest awaiting them in the city. All the adults had lovely bedrooms and bathrooms and we spent early morning and evening hours in the spacious living/dining/kitchen area looking out at the spectacular garden patio. Moreover, the kitchen was well equipped, and Sharon provided many of the necessary staples/condiments in the kitchen in addition to bathroom and laundry supplies. Evening baths were a treat for the grandchildren in the jacuzzi. We decided not to rent cars during the time we were there and made good use of the buses, subways, and occasional taxis, and we were able to walk to shops, restaurants, and a grocery store. Sharon even recommended an excellent sitter for an adults only dinner out. What did we enjoy most about our stay? Everything! We would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a lovely retreat in a quiet neighborhood before and after experiencing the wonders of San Francisco, and we hope to return.
If you have always hoped to find a holiday home that blissfully mixes comfort, beauty and practicality, THIS home is the place for you! Our brood, which included nearly half a dozen children, couldn't have been more charmed. The location on a small side street just steps away from a grocery, clever shops, public transportation and a popular park just up the hill was ideal. When we weren't out on adventures, the place just nudged us to spread out over the 3 stories and find a spot to read, chat, or play games. The playroom is a gem with its space, sunlight, and inviting atmosphere....in all of San Francisco that is what I wanted to take home as my souvenir!
The owner was so very gracious and helpful. I am afraid we have been spoiled and will be disappointed with our next holiday rental!
Our very extended family (8 adults, 5 children) stayed here for a week to visit San Francisco. The experience was everything we could have hoped for. Our large group was easily accommodated in the home; the children especially loved the third-floor playroom. The house was clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. The location was great-within an easy walk to public transportation. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this rental.
I have just returned from a 12-day stay in San Francisco, with two colleagues and 8 university students (a total of 10 guests). Our hopes were high and our reservations few, as far as this property (and owner) are concerned. Sharon's patience, generosity, and professionalism throughout the contract process were as abundant as her property was ideal. Not only was the home spacious, immaculate, and well-appointed, but it offered a sanctuary amongst the craziness of our hectic schedule in the city. Importantly, its proximity to the Castro served us well, as we explored numerous locales in and around San Francisco throughout our stay. Though there were 10 of us, the three-story home offered both privacy (when needed/desired) and room enough to congregate as a whole (we held morning meetings as a group). Sharon had a lovely gift basket waiting for us upon arrival, and her binder/guide offered some wonderful restaurant/site suggestions in and around San Francisco. The cleaners that were dispatched halfway through our stay did a wonderful job, and we were quite thankful for their visit.
I do not write many reviews, and I'm no slave to hyperbole when I do. However, writing one for Sharon and her home is an absolute pleasure. If I could give her more than 5-Stars, I would. I fully intend on coming back next year and will freely recommend this property to anyone and everyone I know who might be looking to stay in San Francisco, without the attendant hassle of unpredictable hotels and property owners. Truly a stress-free experience. Thank you, Sharon!
I rented this house for family all in town for a cousin's wedding. My family and my two sisters with their family (including children). All in all we were 11 (including 4 kids) and this house was big enough and then some for all us. To top that off, the house was spotless. I am so picky in trying to find vacation rentals that are clean and also have enough bathrooms to accommodate a large group. This place fit all my criteria. I just wished I enjoyed the house more but between pre-wedding/wedding activities and trying to fit in some sightseeing, we weren't at the house much. But when we were, we all enjoyed it. In the afternoon/evening when we were tired from a eventful day, we could all be spread out around the house and not bother each other. I also tried to get our family in the play room/ attic upstairs which was so cute with a lot of fun things the kids could do and adults can just lounge around and talk. Loved the location- we were able to walk to a grocery to get food and restaurants and then also order food through ubereats. As far as going into the city, some of us just uber'd around and it was fast and easy to get uber cars. Would definitely recommend this house. Sharon was so nice and accommodating. Next time we are in San Fran, we'll definitely try to stay in this house again!!!
We stayed at Sharon's home for a company offsite. We had 8 people sleeping in the house, and the setup was spacious enough that only 2 rooms had to be shared, and everybody was still comfortable! The location is great--the street itself is quiet, but it's walking distance from so many Castro/Market attractions and convenient to multiple transit lines as well. Having Corona Heights park right up the hill was great as well for taking a break to take in some views of the city. The patio area is very pleasant--though it rained a bit while we were there, most people enjoyed a few hours of working outdoors. The 3rd floor game/family room got a lot of use as well, and is a great attraction for the young and young at heart.
We are located in the geographic center of San Francisco, in a neighborhood that is almost always sunny. SF can be foggy and cold in the summer, but not at our house! We are on a quiet dead end street, but we are 3 blocks from great restaurants, cafes, gourmet grocery stores and shops. We are also 3 blocks from public transit that takes you all over the city. We are the perfect home base for a relaxing, comfortable, wonderful vacation.
