Cozy Mountain House

  • 5 of 5

The property is tucked away where all you can hear are the birds and the nearby stream. The back deck is a peaceful place to sip on your morning coffee and your evening wine. You will most likely get a chance to spot the 2 hummingbirds as they fly passed you to get a snack from their feeder. The house was spotless. The beds were very comfortable and cozy. The kitchen was the perfect size for our family of 4. We enjoyed making a full breakfast with pancakes on the electric griddle. Thank goodness there was maple syrup in the fridge!! We enjoyed nearby hiking at Stone Mountain and then spent the next day in Boone. We didn't get to use the firepit because of the rain but it looks perfect for roasting s-mores!

Nice cozy cabin.

We enjoyed our stay. The cabin is very cozy and cute tucked away in the woods. Very quiet and peaceful. We attempted to hike up to the waterfall but it seemed the trail was overgrown and there are no trespassing signs on the property.

Owner's Response: We're so glad you enjoyed your stay at our cabin. I didn't realize they had stopped allowing hikers to climb to the waterfall. I'll work on letting our renters know this. Thanks, Shane and Crystal

Nice cabin. Very clean.

  • 4 of 5

I liked the cabin. Comfortable, clean and well decorated. Not too bad a drive up to the cabin. Everything worked well. Warmed up quickly and nice water pressure. My AT&T phone worked out on the road (LTE) in front of the cabin but not at all in the cabin. A little walk down the driveway should let you get your email and texts. No complaints.

Loved it!

  • 4 of 5

This property was so quaint and adorable. Very clean and comfortable. Not a luxury rental, so if you are looking for that... go elsewhere. Was so quiet, peaceful. We had a wonderful weekend, sitting on the back deck looking out at the mountain. Night time fires in the fire pit. We brought wood which was good, there was some but glad we brought our own. Appliances worked great and great water pressure.Kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need (except a shotglass LOL) We did the hike to the waterfall... it was beautiful... BUT... LOL.. not for the faint of heart. We made it! ..... barely... (made us realize we ARE in our 50' If you drive it, (which we did the next day) make sure you have either AWD or 4WD. We had to turn on the 4WD a few times on the way back. My Dodge Charger would have never made it. I would and will definitely come back to this rental. Crystal was wonderful with reciprocating responses to our questions. My only regret is that we only stayed 2 nights. The only thing I would recommend is having a first aid kit available... Yes, me the klutz that I am cut my leg... but that is the only thing I would change! My little dog loved it too!!

Very remote and no phone service should there be an emergenc. A good home base.

Clean and kept nice. Very rustic home with cabin like interior. View was across hrhw street. Wasn't really a view from the home. Picture was very misleading

Owner's Response: Hi Kellie, I'm glad you found the cabin well-appointed. I'm not certain what you mean when you say our photos are misleading. They are the actual views from our back porch. Verizon and US Cellular have excellent service and we have never had any issues. You always want to check your cellular carrier's maps before you travel to know for certain. I hope you enjoyed checking in four hours early at the cabin and enjoyed that time. Please keep in mind that when you travel to the mountains, many areas are similar to this and moving forward you should keep that in mind. Shane and Crystal Howard
