A full bathroom is across the hall. The living room has spectacular views of the lake and three sliders that open to the deck. The dining room, on the main level, seats six and also has a view of the lake. The kitchen is well stocked (including a variety of cook books and cooking equipment) with a kitchen bar, new refrigerator and new gas stove. A washer/dryer is located just off the kitchen. The outside deck runs the length of the house. It faces east, towards the lake, offering sunny mornings and afternoons and a view of the moon as it rises at night. The deck has a grill, dining table and chairs for relaxing. Our lake level room with full bath and twin beds. The beds are in a curtained off section of the family room and provides complete privacy. The family area has spacious seating, area to play, books, games for adults and children, television and a refrigerator. Sliding glass doors lead to the large screened porch with dining table and comfortable furniture to relax and enjoy the view. Our home is cooled by lake breezes as well as central air conditioning.

Our lake connects to 800 acre Lake Wequaquet, one of the largest fresh water lakes on the Cape. It is a joy to kayak or canoe, viewing wild life such as herons, osprey, and fresh water otters. We have two kayaks for your use. The fishing is great just off the end of the dock. Recent visitors reported that turkey dogs are good bait!! Who knew? The backyard has lovely gardens, lawn and a small sandy beach. Our Association beach is only a five minute walk from the house and offers a sandy beach, float, and picnic table. Perfect for families with young children as it is so easy to walk to and from the beach with no need to pack up the car and it is rarely crowded! For boaters, our house offers a fifty foot dock with on site trailer parking and a nearby public launch site. Our neighborhood is quiet and composed of year round as well as summer visitors. We do not have through traffic. Walkers and bikers are the prominent "traffic". The Association also offers a tennis court within a 5 minute walk.

Our home offers the advantage of being minutes off the highway in a secluded neighborhood with no through traffic. Within ten to fifteen minutes, visitors can access local beaches, markets, the Hyannis airport, bus/train transportation center, island ferries, dozens of local restaurants and our famous ice cream emporium, Four Seas Ice Cream (chocolate chip recommended!).

About Julie Jones / Larry Mulaire

Our home has been in our family since 1996. We have had pleasure in creating and contributing to a space where family members of all ages can enjoy the neighborhood and our home. We have lived on Cape Cod for 40 years and have enjoyed sharing the joys of living here with our friends and family.

Julie Jones / Larry Mulaire purchased this house in 2013

Why Julie Jones / Larry Mulaire chose Centerville

This getaway on Holly Point provides a lovely view of Gooseberry Pond adjacent to 800 acre Lake Wequaquet offering all manner of boating and water activities and is a relaxing place to spend the day and night. The main living area is on one level and all rooms have a water view. The east facing deck is sunny in the morning and afternoon and has wonderful views of the rising moon at night. Located in a quiet neighborhood with no through traffic, this is a lovely area to enjoy relaxing outside, paddling and swimming, yet is close to markets, movie theaters, ocean beaches, walking trails, a variety of restaurants, airport, bus, train and ferries to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket.

What makes this house unique

Centerville is a charming village within the town of Barnstable. Centrally located on Cape Cod, the city of Boston and Provincetown are within a 90 minute drive. Barnstable has a number of beautiful beaches and ponds. Lake Wequaquet, accessible from our pond, is the second largest fresh water lake on the Cape and is only one of two lakes that allow power boats. Visitors also enjoy kayaking, canoeing, fishing and swimming from the backyard. A small association beach is a five minute walk from the house and provides a sandy beach, picnic benches and a swim float in nearby Bearses Pond. A tennis court is provided by the Association and is only a five minute walk from the house.

We also live in Barnstable. If there are any questions or problems, we are only a five minute drive away.

Best vacation ever

  • 5 of 5

This home is even better than the pictures. It truly is immaculate, very private, larger than expected, and in such a charming neighborhood conveniently located near endless Cape Cod attractions, beaches, and dining! The owner has also thought of and included every amenity you will need to feel right at home! We especially enjoyed the amazing views of the lake from every room! The screened in porch was another great place to relax and read a book (plenty to choose from off the bookshelves!). Besides the simple beauty of the lake, the yard is further enhanced by the lush flower beds and landscaping. Our young sons fully enjoyed themselves with the little beach and dock, while us parents lounged in the sun! As nature lovers, we were thrilled with all the wildlife we spotted at the house throughout the week too: foxes, rabbits, turtles, a variety of fish and birds, a raccoon, skunks, and otters! (Fortunately, the fenced back yard kept the wildlife at a safe distance!) The owners were so responsive and friendly in their communications. They clearly take pride in this home and have made it a very special place! We are so glad they shared it with us and look forward to coming back again!!

An amazing lakeside location, with a view and tranquility that's hard to beat.

  • 5 of 5

We are a family of 5, (kids aged 15,14 and 8) from 'Old' England and this was our first Cape Cod vacation. We were delighted to have got it right, first time.

The property is equipped with everything you are likely to need, and with lovely hosts, Larry and Julie, who were nearby, generous with their time, and always contactable if we had a question.

The house is located in a quiet lane backing onto a tranquil lake, where our three children spent many happy hours. Yet it was still near enough to the main routes to go anywhere easily.

Part of Wequaqet Lake, it's plenty big enough for you to spend lots of time on the water without needing to jump in a car.

Our kids fished, swam and jumped in and out of the lake from the jetty and also enjoyed the pontoon at the association beach. It was hard to get them out of the house! We did however manage to visit Sandwich for a wander along the boardwalk and a jump in the surf, and we spent a day in Provincetown which is well worth seeing. Bohemian, relaxed and picturesque.

Unfortunately we didn't get to surf the Outer Cape as the beaches were closed when we were planning our days but it's good to have reasons to return.

Our only regret? Not being able to afford two weeks!

Great vacation home!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful vacation with our four grandchildren. The house was immaculate and comfortable with plenty of room for the six of us and no bathroom conflicts since there are three full baths! The lake is beautiful and the kids enjoyed the swimming. We all went kayaking all over the lake which was large and wonderful. Beautiful views from the deck, nicely landscaped yard and convenient dock. The owners are quick to respond to any questions and extremely helpful. We loved everything!

Beautiful house with great views of the lake

  • 5 of 5

This was our second year staying at this house. The house is very clean. You don't need to bring much, everything you need is there, including beach chair and toys. The views of the lake, from every room, are amazing. The yard is beautifully maintained. The location is great; close to beaches, grocery stores, restaurants, etc. The owners are such nice people. We would definitely stay at this house again.

Paradise on the Cape

  • 5 of 5

This property is in a beautiful spot to enjoy nature while living in luxury. Just bring food and beverages and you won't want to leave, even though there is plenty around to do. Ice cream, restaurants, golf, shopping, beaches and bike trails are all a short drive away. The house is very welcoming and provides much more than we expected. A fully equiped and spotless kitchen, games, books, most happy about binoculars and lots of comfortable seating inside and out. Just pick a spot (my favorite was in the kayak) and enjoy. The owners, Julie and Larry are very nice and helpful if you need anything.

Wonderful week!!!

  • 5 of 5

What a great experience we had at the Lake house. The owners were attentive and wonderful people. The dock was a big hit for our family. We were able to fish off it and pull up our small boat. The inside of the house was immaculate with a beautiful master bedroom and separate living quarters in the basement for a small family. I would highly recommend to anyone interested in a relaxing and enjoyable vacation.
