Turtle Rock • On the Quiet End of Lake LBJ

Bedrooms 2
Space 1,400 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 - 3 nights

About the property

2 Bedrooms + Sleeper Sofa, and 2 Baths (Sleeps 7).

Have you ever rented a vacation rental and then when you see the place, you felt a bit deceived. What the pictures "communicated" did not match up to the reality. Turtle Rock is NOT that kind of place! We hear just the opposite from our guests. Comments like "your pictures do not show the awesomeness of this place" or "we were so pleasantly surprised at the spaciousness and beauty of your place."

Come see for yourself and enjoy a peaceful, scenic experience with the option of not only water related activities but also local hiking, biking, golfing and winery tour. There is something for everyone when visiting our area. Within a 15-20 minute drive, you will find two golf courses, Inks Lake State Park for hiking, Longhorn Caverns and a local winery just to name a few of the activities you might want to check out.

Turtle Rock house sits on an extra -large park-like lot, shaded by many large pecan and pine trees. The yard gently slopes down to the water. Several chaise lounge chairs, 2 single kayaks, 1 kayak for two, noodles, floats, etc. are provided for your fun and relaxation.

Great Place to Sit Back and Relax

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the view. Enjoyed every minute we spent there. The lake house was everything we wanted, very comfortable and the view of the property and river was fantastic. What a shame when it was time to leave. Highly recommended.

One of my Best Vacations Ever!

  • 5 of 5

The owners went all out to provide a special vacation with all of the extra touches. Great communication and terrific property. We are very familiar with Lake LBJ and I can tell you that this is one of the more peaceful portions of the Lake. I highly recommend the property and hope to visit again. Thanks for everything!

Of all the places we've stayed on vacation, this was the first one that truly made us feel AT HOME. The rocky terrain helped to minimize boat/jetski traffic, so it was very peaceful. The tranquil mornings watching the sun come up were great for kayak runs, and the kids loved playing in the river. Lots of floats and tubes to choose from meant they never got bored. Frequent visits from friendly ducks delighted the kids as well, as did the neighborhood cat who stopped by often. There was a great variety of games for those times when you needed to escape the heat. And a fire pit set up for s'mores was a great way to end the day. The kitchen was small but perfectly adequate for cooking meals, with all the basic utensils and stock items, including water and coffee. Best of all, the beds were comfortable (which is not always the case in rental houses).

The owners were amazing....very responsive to every email/inquiry. Nice hand-written notes in the house from the them told you everything you needed to know about the place and surrounding area.

Just a few miles up the road was a state park where we spent a lovely day escaping the heat touring a magnificent cavern. From there, we made the short ride to Marble Falls for lunch at the Noon Spoon Cafe where (as the menu says) The food is great and the parking is terrible.

All in all, best trip in recent memory. If the place had been for sale, we would have wanted to buy it. We could not have loved it more!

We had a wonderful stay!

What a wonderful location! The house was tidy with all the amenities needed for several days of family fun. This portion of the Colorado River is great for fishing and small children swimming. It was quiet and peaceful. We loved every minute. We would definitely return.

Everything you need and much more!

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect place for a last minute vacation with our son and his friends before they head back to college. The guys loved swimming, kayaking and riding the wave runner we rented. The home is very comfortable and clean. Mark and Cathy have thought of everything you could possibly need; i.e., beach towels, flashlights, insect repellent, games, books, dvds, etc. It is perfectly situated on a quiet part of the lake. We look forward to returning in the future.
