Property type apartment
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Sleeps 6

Pena Mar Ocean Club is a privileged boutique condo development located on the east coast of Puerto Rico Virgin Islands on road 987 across from Villa Marina. A town of Fajardo is just 30 miles and 40 minute drive from the San Juan International Airport. This area is considered to be a largest port in Virgin Islands which sailors use as a jumping point to the rest of the Virgin Islands.

The apartment consists of 3 Bdrm, 2 bathroom which are fully furnished with updated, modern, quality furnishings, bed and bath linens, beach towels, soaps and kitchen utensils. Brand new air conditioners in all bedrooms. TV.

Pena Mar Ocean Club is a fully secured community and a unit is the closest to the guard station that is occupied 24 hours a day. The unit is located at the second floor which is perfect for tenants with handicap as you would not need to take an elevator or stairs. 2 free parking spots for you and your guests.

The unit enjoys Granite counters, Bidet, Huge Balcony across from Villa Marina and partial Ocean View. Pena mar is the most desired location in Fajardo because of its boutique Resort Style design.

Pena Mar Ocean Club features its own emergency power generator and water cisterns which are useful in case of power/ water outage. We haven’t had a chance to experience a power or water outage because of this useful feature. Many other condo developments suffer water and power outage. The Condo development enjoys 3 Pools (One shaped like a boat, an Infinity Edge Pool with a Jacuzzi and one with a built in slide which the kids love. For those of you who like to exercise, a full gym and basketball courts, tennis court are available.

Apartment is located 5 minutes drive from 7 Seas Beach, 20 minutes drive to El Yunque, the only tropical rain forest protected by the U.S. National Forest Service, 5 minutes to 'El Conquistador Hotel (Great Golf and restaurants). 15 minutes from Luquillo Beach. We are located across the street from Villa Marina, where a wide range of sailboat, catamaran charters, boat rentals are available to take you on daily trips to the cays for snorkeling. Puerto Del Ray marina (a largest marina in Virgin Islands) which is 15 minute drive from a condo offers additional day sails (Erin Go Bragh Charters is highly recommended because of small size group -6 people only) to neighboring island as well as Culebra. For a picture perfect beach a day trip to Culebra is a must. A ferry, which is 5 minute drive from a condo, will take you to Culebra (one hour and a half ferry trip) where cab drivers for a relatively small fee of $2.25 pp one way will take you to a one of the consistently top rated beach in the world called Flamenco beach. If you like camping, you can camp at the Flamenco beach camp site. For the best snorkeling on Culebra walk to the other side of the parking lot where cabs dropped you off, cross the fence and within 15 minute walk you will be at Carlos Rosario Beach. Beside world class snorkeling this beach will let you enjoy the best of what Culebra can offer in a private setting.

Don’t want to ride a ferry to Culebra the Seven Seas beach is right next the 316-acre Las Cabezas de San Juan nature preserve which features a lighthouse that has been in continuous operation since 1882. Seven Seas is a lovely, small, crescent-shaped beach, with soft sand and almond and palm trees that provide some protection from the sun. The views are fantastic, just beautiful to look out at the water and see the lighthouse in the distance. Water is blue and beautiful. There is a coral reef some distance from the beach, making a natural wave break. If you want to park your car in the street right next to the Nature Preserve, walk toward the beach, turn right - you will see another half a mile of deserted part of the Seven Seas beach. Further you walk less people you will see. One the weekday you will be the only couple on the beach. This is another reason why we like to stay away from Luquillo beach as there are always people around. If you like privacy you will like Seven Seas beach. After couple of hours on the beach few food kiosks down the road will provide much needed snack, cold beer or a chilled coconut will sure hit the spot. We enjoyed this local beach spot more then a dozen times and always found that locals are extremely friendly and courteous.

Fajardo is well known for its excellent day sailing, snorkeling and diving. The day-sailing trips normally take you to one of the nearby cays for a day of snorkeling, sun bathing and feasting (food and drinks are included in a fair). For the divers, there is excellent clear water all around the cays, with plenty to explore. For a nocturnal trip in the Bio luminescent Lagoon is a must (make sure you go on a day with no moon). Of course, the seafood in this area is fresh and delicious. La Mina falls at El Yunque Rainforest offers a romantic waterfall swimming after a hike in the most pristine rainforest anywhere in the Caribbean.

While visiting Puerto Rico you can visit: Cavernas De Camuy (Caves located at Camuy) as well as Arecibo Observatory where they filmed James Bond Golden Eye, Luquillo (a beach with many local food options right at the beach where we highly recommend La Parilla and Ceviche Hut as well as Fruitty World (a colorful smoothie stand) – smoothies will knock your socks off in terms of presentation and taste), Fajardo (day sailing to the cays of Icacos, Palominos and Palominitos).

If you are in the market for a vejigante mask at discount price a trip to Ponce is a must. All the papier-mâché vejigante masks you see at Old San Juan shops are made by local artisans at Ponce where you can grab one for half the price of what the retailers sell it for. While hunting for masks a newly renovated Museo de Arte de Ponce is a must see which features a largest Art museum in the Caribbean. Car rental is needed to help explore various areas of interest as well as shopping.

Puerto Rico has it all and our unit is conveniently located nearby all of these points of interest. So what are you waiting for, book with us so you can enjoy the best of what Puerto Rico offers and brag to your family and friends about the great time you had while staying with us. We are looking forward to hear from you. Please email us for a fast quote as well as last minute specials.

Great Complex and Condo

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at the condo. We were a bit disappointed that the keys we were given did not get us into the pool and fitness center. The security guards were able to get us in, but we had to go down to the guard stand and ask each time we needed to get into one of the three pools or the fitness center.

Had a hassle free and wonderful time

  • 5 of 5

We showed up at the condo and contacted Ruth. She arrived within 10 minutes and handed over the keys. We had a great time and the beds were very accommodating. The hammock on the lanai was wonderful and all the kitchen appliances and pots and pans were great. Carmen was a true pleasure to work with and it was truly a hassle free experience. Thank you so much for opening your home to our family. We all had a great time, the security guards new us by name and the local restaurants and bakery down the road was awesome. Thank you again Carmen and Ruth. Hope to see you again.

We were SUPER disappointed with our stay. Apparently we were the first renters for this property and it was definitely NOT ready to be rented out. We arrived without and welcome packet, no house rules, no recommended restaurants, no directions to anything. Upon arriving we realized that the couch looks like it is from a frat house...literally pealing and falling apart. There is no traditional coffee maker and the pans/skillets are AWFUL. We spent 15 minutes a day scrubbing eggs off of the skillets. There is no HOT water. The water gets luke warm and that's it. Also, the spare bathroom (only tub in the house) does not plug. We could not give our children (5 and 3 years old) a bath...they had to take showers. Their page claims there is wifi but we were never given the password so we did not have wifi while we were there. The bunk beds in one bedroom are a joke.... If a child slept on the top bunk, they could be SERIOUSLY injured should they fall off onto the ceramic floor. The mattress is higher than the railing. Linens in the two spare rooms were pathetic. Stains on comforters, sheets felt like cheesecloth and bugs found in the bed. The master had decent linens but the mattress felt like a box spring. Might as well have been sleeping on the floor. Also, the master has a TV but there was no cable connected to it.

Overall, there are TONS of rentals in Pena Mar...I would absolutely steer clear of this particular unit. Not only was our stay miserable (we paid an additional $500 to stay at El Conquistador because we were so miserable), but we made our issues/concerns known to the property manager and NOTHING was done to correct ANY of the issues we experienced. The property was a joke and our comfort was CLEARLY not a concern for these owners.

I repeat, there are TONS of other rental units in Pena Mar....steer clear of this unit!!!!!!

Owner's Response: You were sent a regular coffee maker the day after your arrival. All comforters but one were new and that one has been replaced. Apparently when it was washed the dark color bled onto the lighter color. You had new linen and towels. Mattress is how the owner likes it but a memory foam topper has been put on it for the comfort of future guest. The bunk bed had a box spring, which it's not suppose to, and was removed so no danger to anyone now. There was only one skillet and one pot that were not in very good condition and a new set was bought. TV in master was not suppose to be there, taken out. As for the sofa, a slip cover was placed on it until there is enough time between guests to get one in. About the WiFi, we did send you the password and since you never called back, we thought it had been taken care of. People after you have enjoyed and liked the place. Thank you for your suggestions.
