This house is beyond perfect! The house was clean, up to date and is set on the perfect lake front property. We stayed at this house with our family and friends for a week stay leading up to our wedding at Black Star Farms. There was PLENTY of room for everyone and the open concept of the living areas was perfect. The bunk house above the garage was great for young adults or kids to stay and have their own privacy. The location of the home is on a dead end street with no traffic. It is set on a very nice size large lot. The house also comes with kayaks, paddle board, life jackets and a paddle boat! This house was everything that we looked for! Thank you Jamie!
We rented this house for a bachelorette party and it exceeded our expectations! Gorgeous view, close to traverse city, and plenty of room. We enjoyed the firepit each night.
Thank you for the perfect location for Leah's bachelorette party!!
I found this house on VRBO and it looked amazing from the beginning, and it did not disappoint! We booked this place for my sister's bachelorette party weekend and it was a blast! There was more than enough room for us all (we had 10 girls) and the deck with all the new seating was just perfect. Add the amazing weather into the mix and it was truly a weekend to remember. We appreciate the chance to spend quality time in such an amazing place. Thanks Jamie!
What a beautiful place! My family spent the weekend here and we absolutely loved it! Can only imagine what it is like in the summer with the beautiful waterfront property. I'm thinking we are going to have to find out! :)
This is a beautiful home on a big quiet lake. There were 12 of us who stayed here and it was perfect for us. The house is very up to date and clean. The big kitchen is right in the middle of the house with a huge island to gather around. There is a TV room on one side and then a nice fireplace reading room on the other. The big wooden deck is right off the kitchen and a great place to hang out. The yard is expansive and great to play soccer, kickball, croquet, bocce, etc. We brought our own speed boat up with us and it worked out perfectly. There is a boat launch just right down the street. The lake is so quiet that we were able to get all of the kids up water skiing for the first time. What a great memory. The six kids stayed in the bunkhouse which is above the garage. They loved having their own space. The only issue was that they were a little warm because there is no air conditioning in the bunkhouse. They could probably put a window air conditioner up there to make it more comfortable. There also is not a bathroom, so the kids would have to sneak into the main house in the middle of the night to go if needed. Those two things were the only inconveniences of the stay. Jamie, the owner, is wonderful. I texted her a few times and she would text right back. We will definitely be back!
The moment we arrived, I was in shock. The pictures of this place are nice, but they really don't do this place justice! The place feels much bigger and much more elegant in person! The home was spotless when we first walked in, everything nicely put away, the floors clean, the counter tops wiped down. We were a group of 9 and there was ample living space!
The kitchen that the owners had redone recently was fantastic - plenty of storage in the walk-in pantry, and in the large refrigerator. There were plenty of plates and cups, as well as cookware and utensils for our group. The appliances were all fairly new and worked perfectly for us!
The bunk room over the garage was nice, and certainly added some fun to the trip with the ping pong and pool table. The walls might be a little tight for a real game of pool, but we made do.
The outdoor space of the home was amazing! That deck, what a treat! It's HUGE! There were so very many places to sit, including a big picnic table with umbrella, tons of Michigan-themed, finished wood chairs, plus lots of plastic patio chairs in the shed to place around the firepit for evening fires. So much of our time was spent outside, and the lake view was great! The owners were gracious and supplied PLENTY of firewood for our firepit needs.
Speaking of the lake, the shore and lake area were quite clean when we were there, although the shore is rocky. We made use of the steps off the dock for swimming. The dock is fantastic and new, and we launched many kayaks on the weekend from it (the owners supplied a few too!)
The owners left a nice binder of things to do in the area. I had been to the area before, and so we went to our favorite places including Leland (about a 15-20 minute drive - be sure to get a sandwich at the Village Cheese Shanty there), Sleeping Bear Dunes (about 30-40 minutes away), and stopped in Lake Leelanau proper (about 10 minutes north) for supplies and a visit to the distillery for some alcohol tasting there - try their vodka infused with horseradish in a bloody mary!
From the initial email to the moment we left the property, Jamie was a text message away. She was super helpful and answered questions so very quickly. She was a joy to work with, and that assistance helped to make the trip an enjoyable, worry free experience.
The property was fantastic and everyone in our group LOVED the trip. I would most certainly rent this place again.
Lake Leelanau is a 22 mile long all sports lake. Boaters and fisherman take advantage of the beautiful scenery and world class fishing. Leland and Fishtown are must see areas that are accesible by boat. Walk to the beautiful beaches of Lake Michigan to view the Manitou Islands. A short drive past several winery's to nearby Sutton's Bay is a perfect family trip. Many restaurants and shops as well as a movie theater offer options for all. Adults can enjoy a multitude of winery's the Leelanau penninsula is known for.
