Overview

About the property

Point Loma 3000 sq' 4 bedroom 4.5 bath

This 1945 classic lofty hillside residence with 4 Master Bedrooms & 4.5 baths was entirely renovated and redesigned in 2014 for Architectural Digest AD 100 by Architect John Ike for his own personal San Diego home.

Luckily there is a telescope in the residence so that you can enjoy the spectacular panoramic views that stretch from Cabrillo Point and the Pacific Ocean, to the 10,000 foot high Pacific Coast Range east of downtown San Diego.

The never ending parade of ships and sailboats in San Diego Bay below would be enough to keep you occupied during your entire stay!

It's also one of those homes that you really have to be inside of in order to appreciate the excellent design and intriguing detailed craftsmanship that has been created for your comfort and viewing pleasure.

Each of the Master Bedrooms (two on each level) have spectacular views and are decorated with vintage mid- century furniture and custom made beds, each with its own bath, and all but one affording access to the outdoors. We have two King sized beds, 2 twins, 1 queen and two single pull out couches.

The custom kitchen paneled entirely in Hemlock with cork floors and ceilings, features a vintage Chambers Range and Oven, Subzero refrigerator, Convection Oven Microwave, and opens to an outdoor dining terrace with a built in charcoal Weber plus a separate gas grill.

An upstairs lofty shingled great room with 13' ceilings and a wall of sliding glass panels features a living area, fireplace, dining area and a chic stand up bar and vintage McIntosh Stereo. Vintage mid-century furniture, art and textiles lend an air of casual elegance to this room you just don't want to leave.

A lower level additional sitting room with floor to ceiling glass and ultra HD 4K TV provides and alternative place to hang out.

So pack your bags and get ready to enjoy- two expansive decks, two additional patio areas, two living areas, 2 fireplaces, private jacuzzi, private terraced area amongst the orange and lemon and olive trees, eat in kitchen, dining area, office space with WIFi and printer, washer dryer, dishwasher, telescope, hammock, wet bar and 6 HD TV's.

Driveway and street parking, quiet residential neighborhood.

Just minutes away from famous San Diego Beaches, Yacht Club, Shelter Island, Harbor Island, Gas Lamp Downtown, Convention Center, SeaWorld, Balboa Park, San Diego Zoo, Seaport Village, Little Italy, Old Town and many more waterside shops and restaurants.

After a fun and sun filled San Diego day make sure you make time for a relaxing hot tub jacuzzi. Then just stretch out with your family on the outdoor, comfortable lounge chair furniture and hammock while you gaze upon the gorgeous sunsets.

We know that this will be a Vacation Home you will always remember, and we look forward to hosting your group. Call now for a reservation and be sure to ask for special offers.

Thank you.

What makes this house unique

The yacht inspired interiors feature floor to ceiling sliding glass walls and expansive tiered decks facing the harbor and the stepped hillside garden with 75 year old movie trees and citrus, avocado, and fix waiting to be harvested. Amazing Property With Stunning Views

  • 5 of 5

Our group of 10 friends could not have asked for a more perfect place to stay while we were in town for one of our closest friend's wedding. I don't think a single person had a negative thing to say about the property and our stay.

The location was terrific, the property was beautiful inside and outside, and the views were stunning. The interior and exterior design were off the charts cool and almost as if the pictures did not do justice of how amazing the property and views are. We had the pleasure of watching our fine service men and women deploy out of Coronado NAS lining the perimeter of an aircraft carrier....what a sight to see.

The amenities provided were very convenient as linens, towels, pantry, cooking and cleaning supplies were all easily and readily available. Susan was extremely easy to work with in setting up the rental reservation and extremely quick and responsive. Bruce was super helpful and attentive upon our arrival providing a tour of the property and offering suggestions on what attractions we could partake in. I could not recommend renting this property enough.

Amazing view with comfort

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect place to stay with my extended family for a wedding. We each had our own bed and bathroom, everything was available to cook and make meals. We loved sitting out on the patio at night, talking and enjoying the view around the fire. The hot tub was lovely. The garden was amazing and a joy to behold. Thank you for making us as comfortable on your coast as we are on our east coast.

This house is exceptional!

  • 5 of 5

I live local and looked at many homes for my family coming to town for my son's graduation. When I walked into this home I knew immediately this was the house for my family. Little did I know what a treasure it was. We enjoyed researching the owner (famous architect) and the history of the home. What a gem!! We had everything we could possibly need and more. We will definitely rent again for all family gatherings! Thank you to Bruce and Susan who were so helpful and accommodating!

A room with a view!

  • 5 of 5

What a treat to relax in this gorgeous mid-century modern home. There was ample room for three generations of our family to stay during our daughter's college graduation festivities. We would love to return in the future, and we would highly recommend this home to our friends.
