This 1945 classic lofty hillside residence with 4 Master Bedrooms & 4.5 baths was entirely renovated and redesigned in 2014 for Architectural Digest AD 100 by Architect John Ike for his own personal San Diego home.

Luckily there is a telescope in the residence so that you can enjoy the spectacular panoramic views that stretch from Cabrillo Point and the Pacific Ocean, to the 10,000 foot high Pacific Coast Range east of downtown San Diego.

The never ending parade of ships and sailboats in San Diego Bay below would be enough to keep you occupied during your entire stay!

It's also one of those homes that you really have to be inside of in order to appreciate the excellent design and intriguing detailed craftsmanship that has been created for your comfort and viewing pleasure.

Each of the Master Bedrooms (two on each level) have spectacular views and are decorated with vintage mid- century furniture and custom made beds, each with its own bath, and all but one affording access to the outdoors. We have two King sized beds, 2 twins, 1 queen and two single pull out couches.

The custom kitchen paneled entirely in Hemlock with cork floors and ceilings, features a vintage Chambers Range and Oven, Subzero refrigerator, Convection Oven Microwave, and opens to an outdoor dining terrace with a built in charcoal Weber plus a separate gas grill.

An upstairs lofty shingled great room with 13' ceilings and a wall of sliding glass panels features a living area, fireplace, dining area and a chic stand up bar and vintage McIntosh Stereo. Vintage mid-century furniture, art and textiles lend an air of casual elegance to this room you just don't want to leave.

A lower level additional sitting room with floor to ceiling glass and ultra HD 4K TV provides and alternative place to hang out.

So pack your bags and get ready to enjoy- two expansive decks, two additional patio areas, two living areas, 2 fireplaces, private jacuzzi, private terraced area amongst the orange and lemon and olive trees, eat in kitchen, dining area, office space with WIFi and printer, washer dryer, dishwasher, telescope, hammock, wet bar and 6 HD TV's.

Amazing Property With Stunning Views

Our group of 10 friends could not have asked for a more perfect place to stay while we were in town for one of our closest friend's wedding. I don't think a single person had a negative thing to say about the property and our stay.

The location was terrific, the property was beautiful inside and outside, and the views were stunning. The interior and exterior design were off the charts cool and almost as if the pictures did not do justice of how amazing the property and views are. We had the pleasure of watching our fine service men and women deploy out of Coronado NAS lining the perimeter of an aircraft carrier....what a sight to see.

The amenities provided were very convenient as linens, towels, pantry, cooking and cleaning supplies were all easily and readily available. Susan was extremely easy to work with in setting up the rental reservation and extremely quick and responsive. Bruce was super helpful and attentive upon our arrival providing a tour of the property and offering suggestions on what attractions we could partake in. I could not recommend renting this property enough.

Architectural Paradise

First off, this is a beautiful mid-century style home. Architectural details are just about everywhere. It is truly a dream home. The views from the deck is just incredible. It can make everyone feel like a million bucks.

Location is also a huge plus. It's located on a quiet street, and is close to just about every must go spots in San Diego. Supermarkets, restaurants, and coffee shops are within a few minutes by car. My overall experience was great. My families and I had a great time relaxing and enjoying everything that the house has to offer.

Finally, Susan was very easy to dealt with, and very responsive to my questions and requests. Bruce did a great job with the walk through, and answered to my text about house. I highly recommend this place.

Extraordinary property. Far exceeded our expectations.

Roseville is a beautiful home, thoughtfully and artfully appointed. The views are knock-out, the entertaining and lounging spaces feel really special, the beds are comfortable-great sheeting, comfy mattresses, etc. The soaking/hot tub was a total indulgence—awesome!!

I can’t say that I would recommend this house to families with young children unless you’re ok with sticking close by and watching them constantly. There are two tall staircases (we did use the safety gates provided, but still), two decks with ladder-like rungs that our two-year-old wanted to climb, and the house is furnished with exquisite vintage modern pieces throughout. We did fine!-that said, we didn’t sit down as much as we could have liked.

Overall, an amazing experience. We will certainly return.

Magical Thanksgiving at Plum

We couldn't think of any way this house could be more perfect for our group of seven (and two tikes). Everything we needed for our Thanksgiving preparations was available to us. The house was immaculate and offered multiple amazing spaces to gather, or break off for quiet conversation. Perfectly located in a quiet, quaint neighborhood we were no more than 15 minutes to every destination and activity, with a convenient hop to grocery, coffee, and markets. A spectacular oasis, a gem of a property. Thank you so much to our hosts Susan and Bruce.

An exceptional, luxury property, heaps of character with mesmeric views of San Diego.

My husband and I (from the UK and Switzerland respectively) stayed here with 7 close friends and family during the week of our 'destination wedding' in San Diego during October 2017.

We were blown away with the presentation of the property and the attention to detail. Everything had been thought of...USB charger points installed in every bedside wall (negating the need for clumsy travel adaptors); Lacoste towels and luxury products in every bathroom; free to use laundry and consumables such as detergents and batteries; a printer; BBQ grilles; Even a brand new clothes steamer provided without us asking - extremely useful when preparing suits and dresses for our big day! And that's before mentioning the hot tub.

The house boasts commanding views of San Diego and Coronado and is situated in a prime location in a quiet neighbourhood, a mere 15 minutes by car from the Airport / Downtown San Diego to the south, or Mission Beach to the north. There is plenty of free on-street parking and a single-car driveway too. Should you not have a car, we had no issues obtaining Ubers at all times of day and some of our other friends cycled from Mission Beach to visit us in around 25 minutes along some relatively car free cycle lanes. Should you prefer public transport, we saw a bus stop right at the end of the street too.

The upstairs living area was the perfect place for us to congregate and relax, and the views from the balcony were truly breathtaking. The gas fire pit on this deck was perfect for watching the sunrise which we found to be an unexpected bonus to living in such a vintage property - we woke up with the sun most days, as the curtains allowed just enough light in to ease us awake each morning. Once we glanced at the colours in the sky; that was it - we HAD to get up and take pictures of the beautiful morning skycape above one of our favourite cities on earth. If you are a light sleeper or not a morning person, then you may wish to bring a sleeping blindfold, but this really is each to their own. We would not change this property or our stay for the world. So many happy memories were formed here and we are so grateful for the support of Bruce and Susan who were excellent property managers, even granting my husband a tour prior to our rental, to ensure us that it really was as amazing as all the reviews say. Trust us, it is! The pictures cannot do it justice and you will have the most amazing time. Worth every penny.
