Awesome apartment

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing time here and an awesome experience for a bachelor party weekend. 8 guys, ample space for all of us, great location with everything exactly as described. The neighborhood is absolutely fine, even late at night. I wouldn't say it's an A+ neighborhood by any means, but it's what you expect for the location. We never felt in any danger and the location was perfect for our needs. We would definitely come back here again and it was a joy to deal with this owner.

This place is AWFUL and so is the owner!

DO NOT stay here or with this owner at any of his properties! He lies and is devious! My party of 6 (including two babies) attempted to check in to this property on September 12, 2015. We found the area to be unsafe for small children and did not feel comfortable there. We were also displeased that the unit was not well cleaned when we were charged a cleaning fee. "Clean linens" were in a pile on the dirty closet floor, junk swept under the kitchen cabinets, dirty mop hanging over the couch, dirty tub and bathroom mirror, and sheets with hair, stains, and some sort of black crumbs were found and photographed. After inspecting the unit and area, we left and went to a hotel.

Upon contacting the manager, we were given the complete run around, with an excuse for everything. I was even blamed for the group of teenagers who were walking down the street and decided to pound down the side of my rental car with their fists while I sat inside with a sleeping baby. No, I was not blocking traffic. I was parked next to the curb, across the street and two units down, in front of what appeared to be a condemned unit.

I am very sorry this property did not work for us as it was well priced. I am even more sorry that my vacation was stressful and that I am now being ignored by the manager, who no doubt has an excuse.

We have photo proof that the property is not what it is made out to be. Also, we have all of the message proof that he did not and would not give us a specific policy, therefore, we should receive a full refund since we asked repeatedly and were not given any documents.

Owner's Response: Neighborhood is fine. These people thought there was a "gang" of teenagers at 330pm, exactly when all the school children walk home everywhere....it's just that these people look different .....these guests were not rational and were impossible to satisfy. Many many guests have stayed without these so called issues that were conjured up. The babies were safe, and, in face there are several babies living on this block. They refused to communicate to resolve the issues.

Highly Irritated

Upon booking, we were asked to pay via Paypal and not through HomeAway. I specifically asked for an agreement and policies to sign, but was never given any sort of policy, and signed nothing. My party of 6 (including two babies) attempted to check in to this property on September 12, 2015. We found the area to be unsafe for small children and did not feel comfortable there despite being previously assured by the owner that it was a safe area.

Owner's Response: The neighborhood is fine! 95% of our guests are happy and satisfied. About 5% of the guests get emotionally upset when they see people that don't look like them, or over dramatize the cleanliness issues. Jen does go in there in between each guest and changes the sheets and towels with clean sheets and towels. Jen sweeps and mops and cleans. The check in is 3 PM which happens to be the same time that the students are headed home from school. I was happy to brainstorm with these particular potential guests to try to come to some resolution but they got hysterical and discontinued speaking. I was open to the idea of the possibility refunding all of their money. Instead, these particular people chose to cut off communication and sabotage my business by leaving a bad review. You can tell by how they wrote it the way they deal with things in general.

We wanted to stay forever

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was the perfect distance from the city, it was also the perfect size! If there weren't people coming in after us, we would've stayed a lot longer. The owner was extremely personable and overall, thanks to this perfect find, we had the best short lived vacation ever! THANK YOU SO MUCH! We'll definitely be staying again!
