|Minimum Stay||3 nights|
Our home on the private Old Lazy Bar S Ranch is a unique and amazing place to stay on your vacation. Located one mile off of scenic Highway 89, there are no other houses or cabins in site. Easy access off of a paved road, and only 40 miles from either Zion or Bryce Canyon National Parks, this mountain home is the perfect home base! Our home is nestled against ponderosa pine covered hills (which you can hike on) with beautiful views of pink cliffs and a natural mountain lake.
Our 3,300 sq. foot home is spacious, clean, and beautiful. There are ground entries to both the upper and lower levels. Located on the upper level are the great room, kitchen and dining area, master bedroom with adjoining bathroom, and laundry room. The kitchen is fully equipped plus there is a second refridgerator in the laundry room. Windows in the great room and dining area offer AMAZING views of the surrounding mountains, fields and lake. Located on the lower level are two bedrooms, a bathroom, sitting area, and large family room complete with piano, cable TV, video games, exercise equipment ,and view.
Soak in the sun through the cathedral windows, or enjoy the shade while you swing on the glider of the covered deck. HIKE in the hills behind the cabin. Enjoy roasting a marshmallow or hotdog in the fire pit, and make sure you stay up late enough to see the billions of STARS in the night sky. Chances are high that you will see DEER grazing in the fields, EAGLES soaring high in the BRILLLIANT BLUE SKY, and wild DUCKS, geese, and other water fowl on the lake.
There is a king-sized bed in the master bedroom, a queen-sized bed in a second bedroom, and a full-sized bed and queen bed in the third bedroom. There are also two queen-size self-inflating air mattresses available with plenty of floor space for them in the family room. A portable crib and high chair are also available upon request. There is one full bathroom downstairs and one full bathroom upstairs.
NO SMOKING AND SORRY, NO PETS
This is a perfect base camp for seeing the national parks in Southern Utah as well as a great place for anyone just wanting to get away from it all. If you love the outdoors, PRIVACY, and the feel of peace, you will love our place!

My husband and I started our family in Hawaii where he was born and raised. We've lived on the mainland for 24 years now. I am a homemaker, retired RN, and outdoor enthusiast. I love hiking, biking, exercising, and gardening. My husband is a consultant and enjoys tinkering on his '84 CJ7. We have four children and a black lab named Harley. I trained for my first century bike race on the roads around the ranch. I LOVE Zion National Park and continue to hike there. If you love the outdoors, you will love our place!
Tracy Camit purchased this cabin in 2008
The Lazy Bar S Ranch is 0ver 100 years old. Before there was even a home here we came here for family reunions, horseback riding, and cattle branding. My parents built the cabin in 1997 and added on to it to make it big enough to live in in 2004. We purchased it from them in 2008 with plans to live there indeffinitely, but chose to move to Las Vegas in 2011 to be closer to family. Because the idea of selling our home didn't feel right, we decided to keep it and use it as a vacation rental so that we can still spend time at this amazing place.
You truly feel like you've left the world behind when you stay at our home on the old Lazy Bar S Ranch. Delicious homemade bread and cookies provided for all of our guests.
Wow! Everything was just so thoughtfully done. What you have done with this house is wonderful - you have made it a home to all who come to stay. From the scissors, tape, games, music, well stocked kitchen, shovel by campfire, the books--it's just so impressive. And CLEAN!! We have been fortunate to have traveled to many, many places and this place is #1. And the view! We notice and appreciate so many details and comforts that you have attended to. We can feel the love you have put here. And the bread and honey was delicious!
Thank you so much. We hope to come again!
One of the best vacations ever.
Wonderful home! It was great for four of us traveling. One of the finest appointed homes we have stayed in. The only negative is there is one bathroom in the Master and then only one small one to be shared by others. We enjoyed our visit and the view is spectacular especially at sunset! Highly recommend it!
We stayed in the home for a full week. From the home, we traveled to Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park and the northern rim of Grand Canyon National Park. The home is centrally located to allow easy access to the entire region.
During our stay, we found everything as advertised regarding the home. It was spacious, clean, and provided a beautiful view of the area. We did find, in comparison to other homes we have rented, this one had more of the ordinary staples provided. The home was well stocked with startup items and the entire house was very well organized.
We have nothing but good things to say about the home and would recommend it to anyone wanting to vacation in the southern Utah area.
We had a wonderful time during our recent stay 9/10/2016- 9/18/2016 in this home. The home is very comfortable and the kitchen has everything needed to prepare meals easily. We have stayed in several vacation rentals over the years and this is definitely the cleanest! I also think the rental price is very reasonable. The views from the great room are amazing !!! We really enjoyed the layout in the great room with a sitting area facing the beautiful views of the pasture and mountains, while having a separate equally comfortable area facing the TV. Those not wanting to watch TV, could talk and read in such a beautiful setting. We enjoyed the split level - one family took the upstairs master and the other took the lower level queen. When we first arrived we were concerned about the lack of air conditioning ( living in Alabama we use AC most of the year), but we actually became cold at night with the windows opened. It also was such a nice treat to have fresh cool mountain air to breath at night. We miss this now we are back to AC at home. The location is perfect for visiting all the beautiful parks. We appreciated the use of the washer and dryer - complete with laundry detergent to wash our hiking clothes mid week. The only very minor criticism we note is the relatively small bathrooms- the master shower is very comfortable, but the toilet area is quite tight. In the downstairs bath, there is no vanity which makes it a little difficult getting ready in the morning. This is such a minor criticism as the home space has been placed where most appreciated- in the kitchen, dining room and great room!!! Thank you for sharing this beautiful home with us.
We loved this house and location. It was immaculately clean and beautifully furnished with lots of room for the 6 of us. It is situated between Bryce and Zion and was the perfect location for us to visit both parks. We came back to the house each evening after hiking and spent time cooking on the grill and drinking our wine on the lovely porch. The views from the house are amazing. Tracey was great and we really appreciated getting the email ahead of time with directions and also with a list of the best grocery stores and liquor stores. We have used lots of VRBO's and this was the best!
Our church Small Group of 11 (adults & elementary/jr high children) had an unforgettable time at The Old Lazy Bar S Ranch!!! My son wanted to buy the place - so beautiful and comfortable for all of us!!
Tracy was always prompt with inquiries and kept us informed of all the details just when we needed them. Her home was built with love and it shows. Well maintained, clean, well equipped, we were able to walk in and get settled easily.
There are two recommendations - 1) It would be helpful if there were a ranch sign so we knew when we arrived (we passed it and then just guessed) as there is no address or other identifying markers that we noticed; 2) With the tight turn on the stairs, it might be better to have the railing on the same side the whole way up. My son was coming up the stairs the same time someone else was coming down and gouged his shoulder on the hand rail (he had twisted sideways to fit but didn't know the rail was there). Not sure if that is possible, or if there is a building code or anything that requires it on that side. Just wanted to bring it to the owner's attention. (By the way, that is the same son who wanted to buy the place, so he obviously wasn't deterred by the incident.)
While staying at the ranch, we visited Bryce Canyon (about an hour away) and Zion (about an hour, to the entrance - longer to get to the valley floor/parking). Both parks were beautiful and we would highly recommend both!!! We also had the need to grab a few groceries and headed into town (Orderville) as recommended by Tracy. We were very impressed with the selection (not just groceries, but everything you could need!) and the pricing was equally impressive (comparable to home). To top it off, everyone we made eye contact with was friendly, saying "hello" and helpful. What a delightful vacation!!!!
Thank you Tracy for sharing your home with us. We hope to get to come back soon!!!!
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this wonderful rental house. It was clean, well appointed and spacious. The view from the front windows is spectacular! It is also a great location to Zion, Bryce and the North Rim. I highly recommend staying here!
